According to TalkPlaystation.com (http://talkplaystation.com/rumour-dead-rising-could-hit-psn/)
John Diamonon of Capcom has recently posted on the Official Playstation Blog and basically states that there is a surprise coming our way!
After reading through what he has to say, something struck me, what does this mean:-
Oh yeah, there’s also a big (sentence deleted by Capcom and SCEA PR ninjas)….Can you believe it? Wow, how can you not be excited about that? I’m just glad that I was finally able to talk about it. It’s been a long time coming but I’m ecstatic that it’s actually going to happen.
Did John write something he was meant to keep quite about?
Take a look at comment number 35 (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/12/27/happy-holidays-from-capcomand-a-special-surprise/comment-page-1/#comment-142951), you will see that a user asked about Dead Rising, John didn’t completely deny it, he just said he didn’t announce it. What do you think?
So if this came out on PSN, would you buy it? Would you care?
Depending on the price, I'd probably pick it up. Although my zombie killing quota may be taken up by Resident Evil 5 (not quite zombies, but mindless minions that want to eat me all the same).

Interesting if true. I was thinking about getting this game if i had a 360, but if it come to the PSN then I will buy it.

Depends on the price and if there are trophies and new content.

I heard about this a while back and they said it would possibly be episodic like Siren.
I'd rather a dead rising 2 :/

I'd totally be interested if a) It has trophies b) a revamped save system. As a matter of fact I'd ditch my 360 version even though I haven't played much of it yet.

iif its a straight copy of the xbox version then id buy it for 20. if they put in the work from the ground up taking full advantage of the ps3 and add extra weapons, missions, online coop and vs multiplayer ( where you can be a human or zombie) id pay 40 to 50 depending on the final product.

If it's cheap I would buy it. I don't really want to pay too much for an old port.

I'd say Dead Rising has to come to PS3 in some way, shape or form before we see a multiplatform Dead Rising 2. I'm guessing it'll be $20 if it hits PSN, which it most likely will if it does to come to PS3.

this game should be 14.99 on the PS3... its not like they're going to be adding anything to the game. If you're going to release some old stuff on PS3, then make it cheap.

This.
But I'm confused. It says "PSN", so.. this would be a downloadable game? :-s
That means expensive game :(

+1
I would also prefer disc-based rather than strictly PSN.
I can't remember, but wasn't there a screen-text issue with this game also? Although that might have had to do with people playing on SD televisions...
Yea if the add the new stuff from the Wii version (new save system, better AI)

yup. It's $10-20 on 360, so they shouldn't "Bioshock" it if they do release it.

Please be cheap and not a port of the shit Wii version.

If its a carbon copy of the 360 version? no thanks. If they added in some new stuff, most importantly the rumored co-op mode the 360 platinum hit release was supposed to get? day 1 buy!

If it's new content + better save system and $15? I would buy that.

It's a bit late to be porting it over, as this should've happened by late 07 if Capcom was serious about it. It either needs to be dirt cheap or a sequel.
Is this rumor really only based on a random comment?

Pretty much. I still don't get why it hasn't happened yet. I get the feeling Dead Rising's going to hit the DS before it hits the PS3.

Awesome news if this comes to fruition as it is the main game I missed when I picked the PS3 over the 360 as my first next-gen console purchase.

It's not true... John D told me himself.

Boring game with the worst save system ever.

Is this rumor really only based on a random comment?I think he's probably hinting towards a new Dead Rising, which will come to PS3 and 360, if anything.

I already own the 360 version sealed, but if they made real improvements, and kept it under $30, I'd bite. Note that I don't consider changing the save system to be an improvement.

I liked it. It made things more urgent. LIke if you screw up, you really screw up.

If there's a zombie game that needs to be on PS3, it's Left 4 Dead (which I'm sure is coming, eventually).
I haven't played Dead Rising...would it be safe to say that L4D has eclipsed it?

Like what happened to me.
Even though I was able beat her with time still on the clock, granted it was like "minutes", I couldn't advance the story past the battle with the girl on the bike because I went to fight her too late.

Ahh, the old Dead Rising PS3 rumor resurfaces.. That would be great if it's true!
I've never truly beat the PS3 version.. I always ran out of time on the events so I just beat the game a few times by surviving for the 72 hours or whatever it was.
