It's been kicking me and my brother out of matchingmaking in Halo 3. Anyone have any clue why?

Are you getting a message saying you were booted? If you do it's cause you or your brother was team killing do it twice in a row etc the person you kill has the ability to kill you.
Or your connection is really bad and Bungies servers are dropping you before you make the entire match unbearable.

Well I don't think my connection is bad, and yeah I know about the Boot message. Could it be possible that my disc is damaged enough to not be able to load the maps? If so, then I could probably just clean it a bit, and that may fix it.

Possible but you wouldn't get past the lobby, are you getting kicked after the game is started? Funny thing is all the maps are loaded into the HDD cache for quick and easy loading....

What happens is that the map is loading on matchmaking, then it switches to another map and then I'm booted out. :P I'll try to clean the disc, and if that doesn't work then whatever.

Something similar happened to me, the problem was that my Xbox 360 disc drive wasn't reading that part of the disc so it booted me out. The whole campaign worked online fine, only problem was what is Halo without online matchmaking?
Well I bought another copy of Halo 3 and tried it out on my system, same problem.
Instead of sending it to Microsoft, I sold it to someone on craiglist with no HDD and bought myself an arcade.
No problems since, and it's a Falcon.
So basically try another disc, try your disc on a friend's xbox, open your ports if you are using a router. If you can figure out which one it is, hopefully you don't have to send it in. Better now then never since the new maps are coming in March.

Yeah was just about to say that it sounds like it might be the disc drive. After you do what the above poster above me said to do if it works elsewhere and still wont on yours call MS to get the disc drive replaced.
And if you send it in, DO NOT send the Hard Drive I can't stress that enough!
