Sweet deal. This is one of the best games ever. It's really too bad that nintendo is too stingy to put this on that Zelda collection.

Sweet deal. This is one of the best games ever. It's really too bad that nintendo is too stingy to put this on that Zelda collection.its not that nintendo is stingy in the least. its that the game is available on the gba so y kill its own product with its own product? theyd be causing competition within themselves. thats y we dont see a mario collection, cause they are selling incredibly well on the gba. its smart business, not stinginess.

True, but the amount of tradeoff is probably negligible at best, considering the benefit of having the software on the GBA is for portable use.

True, but the amount of tradeoff is probably negligible at best, considering the benefit of having the software on the GBA is for portable use.the gba isnt viewed by everyone as a system they play on the go and on the go only. to be honest with u, ive been playing gb since like 1994 and i didnt just stary playing on the go till now cause i take a train to school. a lot more people play the gba at home then everyone thinks. alttp on the bonus disc and a mario collection would hurt sales of the gba games because people that do play gba at home would rather play the game on the big screen.

That logic is very flawed. Why? look at animal Crossing, then look at the NES GBA series.

I dunno. I tend to believe that a lot of people own a GBA/GBC/GB, but *do not* own another Nintendo system (i.e., instead own a PS2 or XBox).
As far as hurting themselves, I don't know if even 85% of all gamers *know* that the SNES Zelda game has been released on gameboy... probably just like 85% didn't even know that a better version of SMB had already been released for GBC before the 'classics' series came out. If it is *new* people will generally buy it because it is new, and because they don't know any better.
I have no doubt in my mind that if Ninetndo put out a 10 classic NES/SNES games GC disc (i.e., with say SMB, Kid Icarus, Ice Climber, Zelda, etc... which we will call a "Nintendo Ages" for lack of a better term...), it would sell well... and that is even with many of these games being out on Animal Crossing, GBA, etc... People might complain, but they'd still buy it if it cost $29.99 or so..

That logic is very flawed. Why? look at animal Crossing, then look at the NES GBA series.im not sure if ur for or against my argument, but u brought up a good point FOR my argument. look at the nes series on the gba as u said. if they were to release an nes compilation with every single one of those games on the gc, do u really think the gba nes series would still sell incredibly well? it would still sell but definately not as much when theres a compilation, which is ultimately the better deal.

What i find hard to believe... is that people already don't own this game... i have 2 copies of the SNES version and the GBA version... can't go without my link to the past

Personally, it's my 4'th favorite SNES game, behind Chrono Trigger, Super Mario World, and Super Metroid.
It's my favorite Zelda game as well.

I honestly thought that it would've been much better to have LttP on the collector's disc, than OoT. Seeing how you got the Master Quest bonus disc which also included the original OoT when you pre-ordered WW. So, either way nintendo is doing some shady business.
Oh and it was probably my 4th favorite game on snes too... er no 5th, behind Final Fantasy 3/6, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, and Earthbound.

LttP is a good flashback. I think it was my first taste of Zelda when my babysitter would play it for hours when I was 8 or so. I have it on the Collector's Disc, but I keep pushing the wrong buttons and losing the whole game. I would just love to have the SNES version. More blast to the past if I play the original versions. Still going to keep my eye out for it wherever I go since my babysitter probably took it with him and didn't leave it at my dad's.
