Well to me it is, I get cheap deals and I save money but now I can hardly bring myself to pay anything over $20 for a game and now its effecting DVDs too. Its a gift and a curse.....what is it to you?

EDIT : That might not sound like a curse but I hardly buy anything anymore even stuff I really want :?

Gift, of course.

curse - I've easily spent over a grand since the last CC sale, and I need to re-roof the house.

I buy way more stuff now than I ever did. If it's 10 bucks or less, it's usually mine. Also, I've learned about the GGC, and the Target Raincheck here, so it's way more of a gift than a curse.

Definently more of a gift than a curse. Before, I was duped to sometimes pay more than I should have and barely bought any games. Now I have a wonderful collection of most of the games I ever wanted. Only bad part about it is that i don't have as much money to buy when they do have the sales.

Edit: The OP should put in a poll.

Gift - There's nothing more satisfying than getting the game I want for the cheapest possible price.

Definitely a gift, because I've been able to get gems like Wario Ware and Mario and Luigi for much lower prices than I would have paid otherwise. Hell, I probably wouldn't have got them if it wasn't for the site...

Then again, there's a bit of that curse element as well. I really want to get Astro Boy for my GBA, but I just can't stomach the $30 price point...Beyond that, I'm almost scared to think about how much time I've spent on the site.

Still, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. By far. :D

I definitely look at CAG as a gift, not a curse. I really love it when I get a great deal that I found here, but I won't let CAG control all my habits. If there is something I really want and there is zero chance of a deal on it, I'll still get it.

I would say both a gift and a curse.

Gift because I have saved so much on games I was going to buy anyway. Also because this site got me interested in games I normally would have not gotten, such as Metal Arms.

Curse because it's hard to purchase games that cost more then $20. LoZ: Wind Waker, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, I hear great things about these two games and I really want to play them, but they are still $50. I'm still waiting for the price drop on those. *sigh* Maybe by christmas.

Its been a gift-mostly. I did go crazy for awhile but now I am exhibiting some self control.

To me it's like this. While there's always great deals being posted on this site, most of the time it's stuff I really had no interest in, in the first place but I still get it because of the deal. I probably have around 20 games that aren't even opened yet but I look at it like this. If I never open a game but got it for 10 bucks, it would be easier for me to sell it for the same price than for someone to find the same game at 10 bucks at whatever store. I figure as soon as deals are posted on this site there's about a week or so before all of the good stuff is gone from whatever store mainly because of people like me. The gift and curse part cancel each other outso it's all good in the end.

50 games in a month. I'm not sure what to call that.

I see it as both a gift and a curse. Im able to save money on games (though I will pay full price for a game if its worth it, like Halo 2), but I buy a lot more games. I spent around $100 at TRU for the green tag sale (a lot less then some of you Im sure) and although I saved $100, Ive $100 right before my paychecks start drying up (because of school) and have more games then I know what to do with right now and too many good games (and DVDs) are coming out this fall.

Definitely a gift. My collection is at 170+ now and CAG is a big reason for that. Sure, I have a lot of games that haven't been played but I don't care-I got them for cheap, cheap, cheap! I was a CAG before I discovered this site and wouldn't spend more than $20 on a game. That cap is now down to $15 thanks to Jenny Craig...I mean CAG!! I also thank/blame my parents and their frugal ways while I was but a wee lad. I have tons of games for a fraction of the cost--where's the curse in that?

It's almost like someone gave me a box of candy. What they didn't tell me was it is laced with anthrax.
I love getting great deals on games, but my bank account doesn't like it so much.

Mostly a gift.... But I'm cursed to wake up with nightmares for the rest of my life after seeing some of the photos that have been posted here (DLF).

Definitely a gift - The cheapest price possible on great games. CAG allowed me to try out great games I'd usually never get around to playing (i.e. Beyond Good and Evil, Super Monkey Ball).

The curse? I'm under 16, and I don't think my parents like driving me around to all the sales that much.... I try to be conservative with money ($60 on 6 games this month), but sometimes its just too tempting..

i think it's a double ended sword...i've spent more money then i ever have online...but i've learned so much because of these boards and gotten so many great items so much cheaper that it rules...and my VG collection is something my friends adore me for...so yeah...i pretty much love CAG
