Nights Wii was meant to be on the 360 and PS3.
And we were given warning about Sonic Unleashed.

Interesting article. Kind of makes me have sympathy for Sonic Team (and once again yearn for the Sonic Team of yore).

Yeah those guys probably are ready to hang themselves the way they've been cranking out Sonic Games..
Unleashed was not as bad as they have been before, but it's still comparing garbage vs vomit.
The problem is Sonic games are doing great. Sonic Heroes, Rider and Shadow were GH/PH/PC, and even Xbox 360 Sonic game became PH. As long as those games keep selling nothing will change.

I'd like for someone at Sega to see all of the rediculous fan characters, the people that make up the retarded fanbase, and porn that has come out of the franchise since Sonic Adventure 2.

I'm pretty sure we already knew in our hearts that Sega had reduced Sonic Team to a sweatshop years ago.

It's sad that Sega has essentially made Sonic team into a sweatshop.
Maybe they should let some other team work on the next Sonic game and let Sonic Team work on some big non Sonic game.

Why? So that we can get a pile of shit game starring something other than Sonic?
Sonic Team is unsalvageable.

Wow. Good read. Really would of enjoyed playing NiGHTS on the Xbox 360. Who knows, they could of released the original on the Arcade, that would of been uber.

Just hand off the series to Dimps instead, they know how to make a good Sonic game. See the Sonic Advance and Rush series. They easily equal, and in some cases, surpass the Genesis Sonic's.

Sonic Rush did away with the tried-and-true WE DON'T KILL YOU FOR EXPLORING Genesis games and went with some linear bullshit.

This is why sequelitis can kill you in the long run and why Bungie broke off from MS. Obviously if you try something new however, you risk losing the cash cow. It's a vicious fucking cycle to say the least.

Halo was and never will be a good game.

Just because you wake up to play Haze and play some before you sleep doesn't make your opinion humble.
I was just referencing the Sonic situation to be sort of like Bungie's, because MS was basically doing the same thing to Bungie years ago before Bungie parted with MS. The Sonic Team may be more stuck in their current situation because they probably can't get a job elsewhere unless they are going to revive Tidus with their craptacular titles as of late.

There's room to explore in Rush. Granted, not much, but it's there.

The hell is Haze? Team Fortress 2 is supreme. Enjoy your MY FIRST FPS game.

Yeah, no.

There aren't different rooms in Rush but there are certainly different routes. I especially like the time doors in the pirate stage in Rush Adventure.

Nohbody, your opinion started to suck when you said that Dimps games at times surpassed the Genesis titles. I'll give you Sonic Advance 1 is the closest we'll get to a Genesis Sonic title, but none of them were better than the Genesis ones.

Please don't feed the troll.
Otherwise, I whole heartily agree, the Gen Sonic games -- namely S3&K (best game evar) -- rank a hell of a lot higher than the GBA / NDS series. However, I did like Sonic Advance 2, 3, & the first Rush title (my personal fav out of the entire series), Sonic Advance 1 was too cheap in places for me to like.
After reading that article, i sincerely hope that Sega dies sometimes soon, and that someone with actual talent scoops up the Sonic franchise.

Sonic Rush was pretty good, but it felt like it was on auto pilot a little too much.

Sega did respond to the re-surfacing of these blog posts, if any one is interested:

Sega may be heading in the right direction in 2009 but surely the same idea cannot be applied to Sonic Team.
