I sold a game recently there was a tear in the sealing in the bottom corner, and person who bought it said he's a collector and doesn't want to accept it. Do I refund the money? The person says sale can't be final since he's gonna file half.com and rate according if I don't do so.
if you didnt mention it in the description I would just accept a refund.

Yeah people who are traders are very specific, so best to deal with him on his terms, since he can leave bad feedback, etc. Im grateful the few classic games i sold this past year the buyer was more interested in playing them than reselling them. But also i was very specific in my description so there were no discrepancies...

What was the issue..? Like what was wrong with the game?
I hate when sellers say "like new" and its nowhere near that...

if you said new/sealed, and failed to mention it was tore, its your fault and should refund the money. Collectors are very specific.

I agree. You should've let him know that it wasn't perfectly sealed before you shipped it out.

Tell them to send it back and then you will refund them, in the future list anything like that in the description. If there is any kind of tear in the shrinkwrap, I mention it.

Yea best to do what the others have said, unless he becomes rude about it.
Also I want to touch on the like new subject. Why is it that no one takes care of their games? I swear people think these are drink coasters or something.
I traded a 4 year old ps2 game on goozex and the trader thought it was like new, like just took the shrinkwrap off. Maybe it's my OCD kicking in, but I don't let any disc sit around out of its case.

I do the same. I figure that if I'm going to spend $60 on a game, I'm going to take damned good care of it. Heck, I still have N64 games with the original boxes sitting nicely on a shelf.

Because most people are idiots or have stupid friends that have complete disregard for their friend's belongings. I can't tell you how many times I have had assholes come into my room, play my Xbox, and leave the damn discs on top of my Xbox. My Halo, Halo 2 and countless other discs are so badly damaged, I'm surprised they play.
No one will ever touch my games again though. If they want to play anything on my PS3/360 they will ask me to put the game in for them. All my discs are in perfect condition and that's how I like to keep them.

That is NOT how my one friends' nieces treat their stuff(or mine when I've left it there). They treat their games like coasters, leave them all over the fuckin' place and then they wonder WHY they don't work when they go to play them.
This is why I don't leave anything up their house anymore without giving explicit instructions to my friend to keep an eye on the games. Then again, he dropped my one time pristine/mint San Andreas(Hot Coffee edition) disc that I had JUST had resurfaced after an old PS2 I bought uber cheap left a ring shaped scratch on it.
With PS3 games I'm a bit less worried, but I still fret until I get my stuff back from his families house because I know what has happened in the past.
But yet we've been friends for so long that I really don't think I would give a shit if something got a minor scratch or two on it. Now, if the game came back and it looked like they stepped on it and kept it under their foot/shoe while walking across the floor, THEN I might bitch a bit about it.

It's the same way with anything else. Check out garage sales and people are putting creased books and tore up VHS tapes out there like people like buying crap.
