One of the most overrated movies by one of the most overrated directors in the last 10 years.
Asian fanboys incoming....

My moneys already spent on a Repo! preorder, but I figured someone would like it, overrated or not, people buy it. Saves someone money.

Oh, I have both preordered, but I just can't stand how everyone pops a boner when they hear Ichi or Miike.

great movie, but I doubt the blu-ray release will be any good. Al of the american releases so far have been shit in regards to picture and audio quality. I'm guessing the same people are going to release it on blu-ray, so I don't have much hope that the transfer will be much better.

I'm not positive about Ichi specifically, but the vast majority of Miike's films were shot with low budgets on video, so the Blu Ray transfer will be no better whatsoever than the DVD.

um. if you're buying it you have no right to criticize other people who are buying it, regardless of their reasons for buying it.

I have right to say whatever I want. I think it's a decent movie but there's a group of people that act like it's the greatest movie ever, and it's annoying. I also suppose since HKflix is selling it, though shouldn't have a negative review up either right?

I have yet to see it, but I have seen that it is highly popularized. All I know is that it's really violent. I may have to add it to my netflix queue some time assuming they have it just to see what it's all about.

I got sick of waiting so I canceled my order, thinking they would return the 20$ to my paypal account, but instead they put it in my HKbux or whatever credit account. I sent them an email saying I paid with paypal, I would like the money returned to my paypal account. How they handle this decides if I ever buy from them again.

Anyone still gonna grab this?
Amazon had it at it 12.99 for a while but they put the price back up to 16.99.

THe audition blu was very disappointing, but I don't have Ichi yet and it's fairly cheap.

It's available to watch instantly on Netflix btw. Same with Audition

But are they the good versions? I watched it on Cinemax way after i saw it when it first came out and it cut out alot of scenes.

Ichi on Netflix is the cut version as me and a friend were streaming it on the 360 while another in our party was watching the uncut DVD and he ended up lagging behind because of the extra footage and was pissed when we were talking about a scene that he had not seen yet. Since he did not want any more spoilers, he came back when his version was over and it seemed like it was a good 10-20 minutes longer.

Because miike is a phenomenal director and ichi is a good movie, im far from a fanboy but calling miike one of the most overrated directors in the last 10 years is hilarious and ignorant
but you know the saying about opinions and assholes.

even if the transfer is half ass it will still look better then the DVD, i can't think of one blu-ray that doesn't atleast look better then the DVD version excluding bad releases that got releases
