EB Games - January 2009, Trade 2 get games for $9.99 or 19.99

I was over on EB's website, and I found this promo on there... it's not perfect, but if you don't have a few of the bigger titles released recently this may be worth a look.

There are a few notable trades:
Sonic & The Secret Rings (Wii)
Rayman Raving Rabbids (Wii)
Wii Play (Wii)
Far Cry (Wii)
Red Steel (Wii)

It seems there are less cheap games up for PS3/360, but some of you might have a few. I'll probably be offloading my copy of Sonic & The Secret Rings though, and probably Rayman. PoP is calling my name...

There are reports on RFD of certain EB's not honoring the flyer, particularly in cases where people try to trade in games with TIVs below $8 (Wii Play, for one). So YMMV. Also, I just used four abbreviations there.

Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 should be $9.99 used at BBV. No idea why Red Steel is still in the list but this one should be < $9.99 in BBV too.

Even though there are lots of games that can be found cheap, the available list is very limited.

That's easy to work around. Trade in Resistance 2 + Gears of War 2 + $10 and get God of War: Chains of Olympus; duh. :p

If the buses in Ottawa weren't on strike, I'd dump Sonic & the Secret Rings and Puzzle Quest. I'd probably get LBP even though I don't have a PS3 yet.

EB Games in Ottawa is apparently sold out of Little Big Planet. I went to trade two games for it last night and couldn't get it. And because of the bus strike, I cannot go back and check again when they get their shipment in.

I traded Mass Effect, FNR3, and Assassin's Creed for Street Fighter IV. I'm not sure what applies to the Trade 1 get it free promotion though...

Chose those games because I won't be playing AC again, the new Fight Night will be coming out in July (I can wait), and ME is dropping in price-->I think they just announced a super value pack at 19.99 in the states (including limited edition AND DLC).

Woot, I traded Wii Play & Rayman Raving Rabbids for credit towards LittleBigPlanet. (EB Games in the Rideau Centre, Ottawa)

Having the printout from the website certainly helped, and the guy (who was very cool about it) said that he hadn't received any word from corporate NOT to accept the deal.

So i guess with this promotion in effect, there is no longer a trade 3 get it free deal going on. Maybe i will wait until next month to see what there Feb Promotion is.
