EB Games - Trade 3 January 2009

Hey Guys,

I was at EB Games today and I noticed that they updated the list on Trade 3 get it free titles. The deal is the same as before, trade three games with $8 or more trade in value and get a game from a selected list of titles. Hopefully someone can get the full list but, I noticed that both Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV are on the list as well as Lord Of The Rings: Conquest. So if you are not happy with the titles available for Trade 2 + 9.99/19.99 you have another option.

You know the games you can trade for.. are they only the ones stated on the website or can you trade in 3 and get a game not listed on the website?

They had an instore flyer. Can't remember most but SFIV was there, pre-order got you a Ryu headband.

Afro samurai pre-order came with a afro samurai figurine.

Skate II was there, think it came with a t-shirt. RE5 was there also.

Seems like it was only for the advertised games only in the flyer this time.

I wish I had some games to trade; I'm down to 4 PS3 games and none of them (Fallout 3, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2 and Guitar Hero: World Tour with the Legends Of Rock guitar) are games I want to part with any time soon. I might look into "hoarding" if I hear of a BBV Half Price Sale to cover the cost of Street Fighter IV. At least my Tax Refund Check will easily cover the costs of Killzone 2, MLB '09: The Show and Resident Evil 5.

I asked at Hillcrest. They said the "Trade 3" weekend is every weekend in January.

Lord of the Rings: Conquest comes out on the 14th. Poo, so much for that idea.

Just for the record, Manitoba stores have altered this deal in accordance with our pooey new pawn laws.

For us, it's "Trade 3 and get it for 99 cents", which isn't too bad. At least EBs are doing it again; I think we missed out on the last wave of Trade 3's.

b) If not, is dhere is a store in the GTA that doesn't know the Trade 3 titles all that well? =)

Greedy! They should have done trade 3 get it for 1 penny lol. Funny how certain areas have strange laws prohibiting trading activity.

Just to let everyone know, the trade 3 get it free is good for games on their list from 59.99 to 69.99. Meaning if you ask them, you should be able to get collector's edition too.

When I did my trade 3 for RE5, I was offered the option to get the CE for $20 more. Hope that helps.

The RE5 CE at last time checked $79.99 at EB. The current price in the US is 89.99. When the price goes up it could be $89.99 + the lower Canadian dollar exchange rate.

I think that it is only the preorder games, but if your ebgames employees are nice like mine ('cause it's definately not due to my chaming skills) they might like you get Valkeria Chronicles. BTW, I just started it and it is awesome!

I've really wanted for a while but I've only finally cleared up some of my backlog. Now I'm ready to buy it but the 70$ price tag is a little.. eh.

I have some GameCube games I'm gonna try. If not I'll just get the credit and use my DS games for the trade 3.

Go back in a day or two and see if you can get them to switch your RE5 preorder to Killzone 2. This has worked for me and others on occasion.

Yikes, looks like EB is starting to raise prices back up to $69.99 again. SF IV just went up to $69.99/$89.99 CE on their web site. I hope those that got in on the trade 3 won't be screwed into paying an extra $10.

They shouldn't be... I was worried about this after I did the Trade-3 for Fallout, and the price was raised to 64.99 afterwards. An employee there explained to me that if you pay the game off in full ahead of time, they are obligated to sell it to you at that price. The trade-3 promotion qualifies as paying it off in full.

So moral of the story, don't pay $10 more! If they ask you to do this, they're going against their own policy!

i just preordered RE5 today and my 3 games went towards the full 69.99$.

Anyone who does it now shouldn't have to worry, it would suck if they made people pay 10$ after though, but the games already payed in full so you shouldn't have to worry.

I've done all 3 in the past. As for Killzone 2, I was able to use the trade 3 deal to get it yesterday.
