What is the audio adapter called that you need to get sound from VGA cables?

My VGA cable has the red & white audio av cables on it. If you're talking about the one that like a headphone jack that is a Female RCA to Male Y-Splitter. My VGA cable packaging didn't have one, but I ended up buying one at Radio Shack for like $3 or $4.
