Lately all I've found at my SA is some random CDs. Gaming wise they have a flood of Guitar Hero 3 for the 360 (game only). I'm thinking they'll have a few Wii Sports Resorts turn up within the next month or two since I vividly remember that happening with Wii Play.

Found a CIB Alpha Centauri for PC at the local Goodwill a few days ago for $4.06.

It comes with everything... big box, manual, tech tree, even all the original advertisements like "Coming Soon in 1999!!!" booklet. All in great shape, pretty odd find considering it was in the section with all the VCR's and such and not in with the rest of the games.

Best Goodwill find in a while for me. Picked up a cart-only Ogre Battle SNES for $2.99. My Goodwill has been great this year (top loader NES for $24.99).

Just got back from the Goodwill.

I picked up F-15 Desert Strike II for .97 and Mutant Fighter Mazin Saga for $1.97. The latter is in a pretty haggard case with no instructions.

Besides that, I got The Stone Cold Truth VHS tape for .97 to add to my Wrestling collection, as well as a Puma 7-Up bandana.

Finally, I found a Palm III (Palm Pilot) for $2.97. In the box with the manuals, charger and case and looking brand new and possibly never used. I sold it to my dad for $5 when I got home. He was looking at buying a II used, but decided not to as he plans on just getting a better cell phone when his current plan expires.

Hit up the American Rescue Worker's thrift store today. I snagged the Dreamcast Web 2.0 disc, still sealed for $1.50 (my friend wants it), and a sweet brown leather bomber jacket for $12. It's not a great brand, but it's in great shape... worn in just enough.

Hit up the Goodwill again as well as my sister wanted some Nascar tape. Ended up snagging a ton of Power Rangers VHS and DVD tapes. One is signed by Topper, who was the local Fox kid's host.

Found a complete in box Aftershock racing wheel for playstation for two dollars at my thrift store. That's about it. I also picked up Mario Brothers and haunted house for the Atari 2600. And Sword of Sodan for the Sega Genesis because it had a weird case. Adding it all together, I spent six dollars. I love thrift stores.

I just recently discovered our Goodwill... other than the previous find, the rest of the stock was pretty crappy.

How often is it worth it to check Goodwill for new items? I'm not sure if they just restock when they get new stuff, or if there is a certain day and time. I was thinking once a week, but I wasn't sure if there was a definitive good day to go.

Also, is it worth to just check generic thrift stores?

It's worth it to check every thrift store. You never know what they have. Also, there is no set time or day to check a store. It's a given that if you don't check every single day, you're gonna miss out on something. Obviously, that's not possible for most people, but it adds to the fun of thrift store shopping.

my local Goodwill usually always has something gaming related there but man they jacked the prices up hard. before i picked up (2) PS1 for $10 each. now they have PS1's for 20 bucks a piece, gotta be kidding me. they had a dreamcast with no wires for $35!!! crazyyy. i never owned an N64 and saw one at goodwill for $25!!?? no f'n way.

on the flip side ive gotten some sweet deals to though, grabbed The Bourne Conspiracy for the 360 sealed for $10. Zelda 2 on the NES full package $2.

im going to take a trip there later today see if i can find any deals. hopefully they lowered some of the prices on there consoles.

Looks to be complete, the map is in perfect condition I'd say.

Ultima VIII Pagan ($1.99)

I had an Ultima VII Black Gate like that several months ago and it went $40+ on auction. Buy it Now (if you are looking to sell you could probably get more than that.

Edit:

Nevermind. Mine was all 3 1/4 (?) discs (the smaller hard ones like Forge Of Virtue).

Just opened it up on Ebay and it was all discs and went for $42.30 with 6 shipping. Back in June it sold.

I hit up a sweet new thrift store in a neighboring town yesterday. I didn't find anything, but some Atari nut dropped off a ton of stuff... the AV built in games cable deck, the built in games controller and Pac Man controller as well as a bunch of old 2600 and some 5200 games. Also a handful of mediocre Genesis games and Videomation for the NES. The games were $3, the controllers $10 (too steep) and the "system" $20 (again, too steep).

Hopefully someone drops off some better stuff, but the place is pretty big with a really nice overall collection, with reasonable prices for the most part. They had a ton of .99 board games, but sadly... Happy Days has eluded me once more.

Yes, and if you return it, they take the value of the gift card off of the return, so you only get $55 back.

Unfortunately, it wasn't. I found it just plopped onto the VHS rack all by itself. I did find a complete copy(with ad inserts and Zelda:LttP poster) of Vegas Stakes for the SNES a few weeks ago though. I have to congratulate you on both finding a complete copy and your excellent taste in games in general. Anyone who buys a Jack Nicholas golf game gets a thumbs-up from me.

Sega Dreamcast, great condition box, coffin box with top, av cable, power cable, 2 controllers, blue vmu, virtual tennis disk only.-$30

4 rechargable batteries with charger- $3

Yoshi rc car complete- $6 (our new kittens are lovin this thing)

boxed POG set- $2

Pretty good Goodwill day, everything except the battery stuff came from my first Goodwill. Saw the DC controller then kept walking left and everything was lying around like someone looked at it and left it so needing a DC to go with the 2 $3 controllers I found last week i scooped everything in the box and shut it. Picked up the POG box cause it was only $2, has probably 100 pogs with it, and the box is in way better condition then the one ive had for like 14 years. $6 for the Yoshi car wasnt too bad i did a quick google on my phone and saw they were over $15 new plus watching little kittens chase it is really funny. And last you just cant get much better than $3 for 4 working batteries and a charger.

The Genesis came from a time when "high definition" didn't mean high definition. If that makes any sense... The "high definition" printed on the system is just a buzz word intended to make consumers think it was better than the competition.

Also, the game you've got is a regular old cart, the yellow tab at the top and the unusual shape don't signify anything other than an "unlicensed" cart. Instead of paying Sega for the cartridge shells, they instead opted to make their own. This also required them to put an extra chip in the game to "fake" the Genesis out and think a licensed game was in the system. The extra chip necessitated more space, and thus the cart is bigger than the usual Genesis games.

The second picture is from a local place that repossess storage units.....they repossessed a unit belonging to one of the local hoarders..sadly I was not the first pserson there :( see the garage sale thread for more info.

I've never heard this reason before. I've just always thought that the big carts with the tab were that way because they were all EA games.

I think there is some other companies that have used the larger cart as well (Accolade, I think). EA probably used unlicensed carts to keep costs down on production, as you had to pay Sega a hefty amount to license games.

This also required them to put an extra chip in the game to "fake" the Genesis out and think a licensed game was in the system. The extra chip necessitated more space, and thus the cart is bigger than the usual Genesis games.

Well, not exactly. Not all unlicensed cartridges had an extra chip in them, and more often than not the extra chip was additional ROM space (ie: two 4mb chips vs. one 8mb). For examples, see some of Ballistic/Accolade's games (like Hardball and Mike Ditka) which fit on the same PCB size as Sega's licensed carts.

The larger cartridge shell was more likely an effort to avoid any sort of patent infringements or legal action on Sega's behalf for possibly trying to pass their unlicensed games off as licensed. The unique size and shape says "Hey, these are unlicensed so don't think we're trying to present them to the consumer as official".

The yellow tab is indeed unique to EA games, and EA continued to use the same case, regardless of PCB size, long after they entered into an official licensing agreement with Sega. Examples would be Populous, the Mutant League games and James Pond, but there are many more. This was likely because EA either still had a lot of empty cartridge shells or because it was cheaper to use their existing assembly lines rather than "upgrading" to standard Genesis cartridges (which they did, but not for a few years).

Saw some Odyssey2 games but they were $6 each, seriously WTF Goodwill. Couldnt find a priceguide for these so does anyone know if Baseball!, Invaders from Hyperspace!, Take The Money and Run!, Cryptologic (has 2 other games I cant read from my pic with it), Alien Invaders Plus, and Out of This World/ Helicopter Rescue are worth anything. They were all in their boxes too.

Oh yeah other Goodwill had 21 Atari 2600 games but they were $4 each. Just checked and none are worth more then 75 cents on VGPC.

Some times they're way off on pricing this stuff. $4 got me a NES but couldnt get me 1 Odyssey2 game.

So we got a new Value Village over here that just opened yesterday, so I went today to take a look. Man this place was huge, and packed with people. Everything was clean and organized, unlike pretty much every other thrift store I've been to, where it stinks, everything is covered in dust and they just put random stuff everywhere. Anyways I hit up the games/DVD section and they have a pretty decent selection, the good news is that all their games seem to be priced 3.99, regardless of console, completeness, etc. The other VV I go to has a 4.99 base price for games, and that's only for disc/cart only games, most anything that comes with a case or manual is bumped up to 9.99+.

Anyways I only picked up 1 game that I thought was worth it at 3.99, and boy was it worth it in a big way, I wish I could have seen my face when I saw this sucker mixed in with other ps1/PC games.

You guys are damn lucky to find that stuff... Every place I have gone to has either never had anything to begin with or picked clean. However I did find a really good condition copy of Return to Castle Wolfenstine for the PC for 2 bucks at one place. Never played it so might as well right?

I work at the Goodwill and we have been getting the target clearanced games and selling them for $12 and I pick them up whenever I see one I want. I love target. But I hate my job lol.

Also I'd like to mention that my particular goodwill that I work at has been jacking up prices like crazy. I heard it straight from my supervisor's mouth in a meeting we had.

Found out there is one less than a mile from my new place, no good games yet. Saw some pack in nes games for 99 cents, a bunch of pc games that sold before I could get time to look through them. Did pick up a wireless g router and a motorola 5100 docsis 2.0 modem for 3.00 each.

The GW stores from Tacoma are usually the ones wanting $19.59 to start with on shopgoodwill.com for systems that look like they haven't been dusted in years.

So, I've seen the gouging you mention, if only on their auction site.

What game stuff have I seen at Goodwill? One store had a Genesis 2 with RF hookup and 2 common games for $20. Another had an Atari 2600, 2 controllers, 2 paddle controllers and some games for $30. No AC adaptor(of which I'd pay a fortune for anywhere that has them) and the entire thing looked as if it'd been sitting outdoors for years.

Hell, I wouldn't buy a game system at a place like that unless they let me hook it up toi a TV and verify it works. Thankfully, the place I got that N64 let me do just that.

nothing but atari games and sports games at the first 2 GWs. 25% off games at the one closest to my house so im thinkin "i gotta get something cant have a wasted trip", had some genesis and atari games but they were all games either on Sonics Ultimate Genesis Collection or my Atari Flashback2 or worthless. i bought Mace the Dark Age for N64 (never even heard of this game) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters for Genesis for $5.66. chick who works there asked if i minded paying $4 for old games and i said "it really depends on the game but most of the stuff you guys get should probably be $1, the goodwill i was at before this had $1 on NES and Atari games but even then they werent anything worth picking up." she then told me how she bought a copy of Yoshis Island for SNES yesterday for $4 that someone dropped off and i was thinkin "DAMN DAMN DAMN". not a thrift store find but my shop n save is trying to sell off all their Mountain Dew Game Fuel 20oz bottles so theyre 2 for $1, i got 10 of each flavor

Another good day at some thrifts today.

Every single one is brand new factory sealed. How the hell they got there is beyond me. The Sega Classics I got from a Salv. Army last week. All the Sonic Knuckles I picked up today at a different Salv. Army. Thought maybe some store donated some found product and the Salv. Army distributed it between stores but those 2 were the only stores with anything. It was half price on yellow tags today also.
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u127/schuerm26/DSCF0001-5.jpg

Was only going to buy the 2 Genesis games ($1.98), the Gamefest Forgotten Realms Classics ($3.48), the Castlevania games, Zelda Games and Mario game for NES ($3.48) but asked the clerk why they were priced differently and if I could get them for $1.98 each I would buy them all, so I did. Not worth it on some but I wasn't going to pass it up. The blue stickers on the Genesis games were the $1.98 stickers. The rest of the nintendo games have the yellow $3.48 on the back of them. It is a bit weird because there are 2 specific goodwills around my area that seem to get quite a bit of video game stuff constantly and then the rest get nothing. All of these were at the same Goodwill.

I've been Goodwill shopping at least once a week for all summer, and found nothing. Seems like all they have are VCRs. :(

From past experience, if you go every single day . . . your odds will improve. Even then its possible that you'll get beat out.

The reason why we so often see only sports titles is because someone got there first :-(

My Goodwill has so many shoppers that I've seen stuff and thought "that looks cool but not for me" and then saw someone with it at the checkout with it 15 mins. later. I once saw a great deal on a power screwdriver (worth $30 marked $5) but this lady had it in her hands . . . I decided to walk away (to not show interest) in hopes she would put it down . . . she did but before I could get back (30 secs) another guy picked it up and bought it.

Hoo boy! I ALMOST had the perfect thrift store shopping day. I was THIS close! But other than two or three little annoyances it was great. Here goes.

Black GameCube with AV cables, two controllers, extension cord for one controller, Pikmin (no case) Zelda: WindWaker, The Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition, and Wario Land for the Virtual Boy.

Here's where the problems come in. It turns out the GameCube didn't come with a power cord or memory card. But I can fix this real easy with a stop at the pawn shop. But the thing that really ruined it for me was Wario Land. It was in great condition! I slowly peeled off the price sticker. Got it almost all the way off when I hear a tear. Oh God it sucked so much. But still great day overall.

Total amount spent: 25 dollars.

I found two games I probably shouldn't have bought: Spider-Man and Toy Story 2, both for PS1, for $2.99 each. The cases aren't great, but both discs look like they've never been played. I loved Spider-Man, and I'm a sucker for Toy Story 2, especially after losing my N64 copy, so I grabbed them.

I also found a Flaming Lips CD and the Barenaked Ladies Christmas CD. Luckily, CDs are more reasonably priced at $.99 each.

Gwen Stefani: "The Sweet Escape"(Complete) - $1.50: Went into this purchase blind(deaf?). I bought it because of being a big No Doubt fan... I have the feeling I'm in for a "meh" surprise.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert - The Domination Pack(all 4 discs, case, RA:A manual only, no RA or RA:C manual) - $2: Had RA1, but with the 2 expansions I couldn't say no to the price.

Star Trek: Bridge Commander(Case & disc only) - $1.50: Always wanted to pick it up. And judging by some of the prices on Amazon and eBay(around $50+/-), I got a huge deal.

They have Banjo-Kazooie N64 for $1 and I need at leats soemthing to play on it, but I can't very well buy it if they aren't open. I'd give the place a month before they close for business, it seems they're not open enough to even earn enough to cover rent.

I noticed on my way to the Coinstar machine that my local Salvation Army had risen like the phoenix from it's ashes (yeah... the building burnt down and they lost all their inventory. They operated for a week or so a few months afterwards from the parking lot... but we live near a river so it rains on average of every three days.) but I saw a sign that said where they moved which is on the other side of the street and down farther than I usually go... plus it still has a sign up for the old flower store there.

It's roughly half the size of their old building and they were still stocking so I'm guessing they opened like Monday. Nothing in terms of games or electronics or anything outside of clothes and a big display of matchbox cars.

I did snag an awesome Late Night with Conan O'Brien 10th Anniversary shirt for $2 that's in great shape. I have the DVD special.

I hit up a Goodwill I go to from time to time that usually has decent finds. All I got this time was a fairly nice Gameboy case for .97, as well as a Chuck Norris and Pac-Man shirt for $1.50 each. They had a stack of PS2 and XBox games for $3.97, but nothing I was interested in. Oh, and a still sealed Sims 3 preview DVD... for $9.99. Sure, it had a $5 off code that MIGHT still be good, but seriously. They also had crap like a car window cleaner that was cut open but never used (might've been shop lifted) for $9.99... which is the cost for one new.

I was tipped off to a store near my electroc company's offices with used games so I checked in while paying my bill. A typical used game selection though at least the prices of games were bearable.

There was a stack of $4 N64 games. I got Starfox 64 and wrote down a list of games to dig up info on. I also got a red DS Lite stylus for $3. Not that I am not swimming in them, but no red ones.

He had Xena N64 in box for $10 but I passed. I can get the game via Amazon for half that and for non-collectible games I have no need for the boxes or manuals. Just stuff for my collection.

The owner did admit that the more valuable stuff is typically stuck on eBay, because the people who go into the store typically don't want to pay eBay prices. I can't blame him, if people off the street won't pay $20 for a game and eBay will, no need to leave it sit in a counter. And it's nice to finally see a game store owner admit that the typical shopper doesn't care about eBay values.

Shenmue 2? Was it the PAL or Japanese Version? The game was never released over here, so I'd say you found something good. The PAL version of Shenmue 2 is worth around $50, not sure about the Japanese version but I think it is less. The first game is worth about $20.

Rad Racer With Spy Hunter Box Manual & Slip Cover (No Styrofoam Block) - .75
Code Name Viper In Nintendo Hard Plastic Case With Manual - $1.50

Half off pink tags made Rad Racer .75 and I couldn't resist a complete game for under a buck even if it was the wrong game. I bought Code Name Viper since I didn't have a manual. They also had TMNT & Fire Shark (1st time I've ever seen this one used in the wild around me) which I would have grabbed at 1.50 if I didn't have them. I was considering passing on Code Name Viper till 50% off but figured I shouldn't try to be that cheap as it would most likely be gone if I gambled on waiting till it was 50% off.

Since you mentioned that it doesn't have the manual, does it have all four discs and both cases? My copy has two manuals, two cases, four discs, and an outer box. If you've got everything but the manuals, you're set to make a good amount if you flip to eBay. Frankly, I'd recommend keeping Shenmue I, flipping II, and getting a DC. Play the first game and see if you like it and then you can pick up the Xbox Shenmue II if you like the first game.

Shenmue 2 only came with 4 cd's and the 1 case that hold 4 cds. I am wondering what kind of case are you talking about. Are they supposed to come with 4 different cases? I'll keep looking for a dreamcast. Can you give me a good price range for dreamcast?I think I saw one bare dreamcast for like $20, no cables means I cant test them, thats why I passed...

1. it mightve been $10 since it was 4 discs cause my GW tried to charge me per disc for the PC version of FF7 but after I pointed out that it was all the same game they charged $4
2. I think Dreamcast plays some PAL games, if not youll need to burn a boot disc like Utopia.

But I have so many other games in my possession, I actually passed on it. $10 was too much for a game I've beaten several times already. Anyway, I'd probably get sick of it eventually and be stuck selling it for $2 or something so it's not worth sinking the money into it.

Usually they sell their cart-only games for $4.99, which is already pretty high, but I hope this was just a pricing mistake or something.

I know Not Tested usually does mean broken, but I once picked up a Casio keyboard (dated 1984!) from a thrift store, and it was labeled Not Tested. I took it home an put batteries in it, and it worked fine, and still works to this day. That was two years ago, and come to think of it, I haven't had to change the batteries yet. Good day at Goodwill today, it looked like someone recently turned in a bunch of Video Games at once as they had a pretty good selection, nothing too spectacular, but I walked out with

PS2:

God of War
God of War 2 (Both Greatest Hits)
Hot Shots Golf Fore

Genesis:

X-Men (Loose)

SNES:

Scooby Doo Mysteries (This one is actually a really good game)

All for 3 dollars each. The PS2 games were in surprisingly good shape. I've been hearing for a long time that the God of War games are really good, so I'm glad to finally be able to try them.

Ninja Gaiden III (NES) - 6.99

Yeah the FFVII is actually the GH version, it just has the black label front insert for whatever reason. I take it there was no place to plug in an AC adapter? If there is, you could probably buy a generic power adapter from Radio Shack for $5-6 and be able to skip the batteries altogether.

Thing is, I dumped a Casio keyboard my family got me when I was like 12-13 for $20-25 to some neighbor of my one buddies' nephew. It was probably worth around $120 or so but I never used the damn thing. Too bad this was before the advent of Craigslist and the internet or I could've been offered at least $15:roll:(due to lowballing aholes).

I also dumped a 'Darth Vader' Atari 2600 and about 40-50 carts for around $10-15 about the same time. Leave it up to me to sell the valuable Atari system and keep the pos wood grain one.

$50.

Fifty mother fucking dollars.

It was at this point I concluded that the woman who runs the place is going senile and walked out. $50 for a Genesis is absurd. I've seen PS2s going for that much on craigslist lately and in no way should a Genesis cost more than $15 in the wild.

This is the main problem with thrifts. You really need to be there right after stuff is put out . . . at least in my area.

Now that rummage sales have ended, I want to participate here but I rarely find anything.

Last week I saw an N64 system at a local St. Vinnies. It was marked $15 . . . so I looked it over. Hookups but no controller . . . its still sitting there. 4. Taboo (Missing the timer, oh well) - 4.99
5. Uno Attack (I can't tell. The box is beat to crap, but the machine looks great and the cards are sealed) - 7.99

The question would be how long is it going to take (if ever) for a sealed copy to sell on Amazon? Given the sale's rank (which means, in a sense, that 8000 games are more popular) and the fact that you can get complete copies for $10 (it'd be better if used copies were going for $30) . . . I think $80 is a longshot.

If I had it, I would list it on Amazon for $50 . . . I bet it would sell this holiday season.

My Goodwill has been raising the prices on their gaming stuff. One pink N64 that's been there for several weeks is marked $20 and yet a recently added gray N64 is priced $25. I can't remember if the gray one had a power cord or not.

The NES games have also gone up--their $5 now(not $3) and a gold Zelda II cart was priced at $7(same price as the N64 games I saw tonight). Either they've gotten a gamer on staff or they've started marking this shit up cause it sells.>:(

Over a year ago my GW started removing discs from cases . . . the discs are stored in back. So, if you want to buy something you have to get in line, get to the cashier and then wait for someone who is called to find the disc. Then you can finally check condition. This is such a pain that I don't even want to go in there anymore.

They say they started this because of missing discs . . . presumably this is because of theft (why steal a $2.99 CD? . . . If you're going to bother to steal the disc . . . why not taked the case?) but I think they were just getting the occasional donated case (discs get separated) and they didn't catch it in the intake.

Anyway, they will open sealed games to get the discs out . . . its like shopping at Gamestop.

I saw a little stack of Rockband Track Pack (PS2) . . . in the past, they would have just left them sealed and put them out for $1.99 or $2.99 and I'd snap them up and sell them for $10 each. Now, they have gutted them and priced them at $19.99.

So very sad.

I saw two copies of Goldeneye and one Zelda LttP all marked at 20$ this week. I don't know if I should be more ashamed of Value Village for putting up those prices, or of the people that actually bought them. You'd think that people that shop at thrift stores would have more important things to spend money on than 20$ videogames that they could get on ebay for 8$.

I also saw a Blu-Ray for the first time at a thrift, it was Twilight and marked 10$.

Yeah, I agree with you guys, you have to wonder who is buying this stuff at these prices. Especially considering the games most likely do not work without a good cleaning, so the person is buying them, putting in the effort to clean them, and then reselling them? Most parents with children who play older video games don't have any inkling on how to clean a game. How much could they possibly be making considering the effort and time put in here, and the fact that many games just don't sell that well on ebay, you can't make a profit on just anything. It takes a pretty long time to clean batches of games, and I can vouch for that. I could see if they were cherry picking and leaving the crappy stuff, but if they were paying $5-6 per game and the game is selling for $4-$6 shipped on ebay plus fees, it doesn't really make any sense.

This is assuming that people who are reselling are buying the stuff in the thrifts, because I assume that the uninformed parent doesn't know how to take apart and clean games, which is necessary to make them work when you buy them from thrifts or other unknown source. If the parent is informed enough to know how to clean a game, then they are informed enough to check ebay's completed listings and probably know better than to buy an overpriced game.

I find that very few games I get these days clean up with just alcohol as well, they are just too dirty, you really have to have the proper tools to clean the games which means sourcing the proper bits to open them up.

At least if you bought the game on ebay for $8 (vs $20 on the shelf of the thrift) you know you are getting a working copy, but your buying stuff that is in very unknown condition from these stores, and paying more than what ebay costs. It just doesn't make sense.

I found out that several of the people I thought were resellers around here are just hoarders, they buy up any old games they see not caring what the price is, they seem to think if they hold onto them they will be worth more someday. I'm guessing there are alot of people like that around.

Picked up the following at Goodwill today:

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (PC) - $4.99
NFL Blitz 2001 (N64) - $3

Now if only I could find an N64. I've got like 6-7 games and nothing to play them on.

I also found out that there are two Salvation Army's in my town that I had no idea existed. Went and checked them out but there was absolutely nothing video game related.

I've given up on finding anything worthwhile at Goodwill stores.

Likewise, the two local thrift stores that opened near me are under personal boycott. I have to assume the one that wanted $50 for a Genesis is run by someone with mental problems.

The other one? Well, I would assume this place has no shoplifting problem because they have nothing worth shoplifting. A $30 PS1 covered in dirt. A $40 Dreamcast in dirty condition. Transformers toys with missing limbs at almost new prices.

My Goodwill was holding their "first Saturday of the month 50% off" sale today. Got there late in the afternoon and still managed to snag R.C. Pro-Am for the NES for $2.50, The Rolling Stones' "Steel Wheels" album for $1.50 & a kinda dog-eared copy of Naruto Vol.26 for $.50.

I stumbled upon the Naruto Manga by accident. I went over to the books to find my Mom and saw it out of the corner of my eye when passing the kids books. For $.50, why not?

Haven't been able to try R.C since my NES' are acting up and need to be cleaned. If it's as good as Rally King from Retro Game Challenge, then it's money well-spent. Overall, I'd say it was a good haul for how late I got there.

I found a bunch of stuff the other day at one of the local Salvation Army stores that likes to overprice older games.

I found the following(all for PS1):

Namco Museum Vol. 1-complete, mint-marked $4.99:bomb:
Parappa The Rapper-complete, mint-marked $4.99:bomb:
Atari Collection 2-complete, some minor surface scratches-marked $4.99:bomb:
Wild 9-complete, mint-marked $4.99:bomb:
Marvel Super Heroes-complete, mint-marked $4.99:bomb:

About the only ones I wanted were Wild 9 and/or the Atari Collection 2, but I wasn't about to pay $10 for two fuckin' PS1 games. The people running this store(it says Salvation Army on the outside, but I think it's independently run)think older games=gold.

If they're still there next week maybe I'll go back and try to haggle with them for a deal like 4/$10 or something.

I found a bunch of stuff the other day at one of the local Salvation Army stores that likes to overprice older games.

I found the following(all for PS1):

Parappa the Rapper sells for like $40+ on Amazon.

I made a second stop to the SA in my area in the past week.

First time was the 23rd. I snagged a Power Rangers DinoThunder volume 3 in the "clamshell" case for $1.75. The clear plastic part had a small crack, but wasn't loose or anything. My nephews love the Power Rangers.

They had a ton of new stuff still sealed for Christmas. I ended up grabbing a 12 LED light for .75. The batteries were PenesamiG, those Chinese Panasonic ripoffs and completely dead and way too light. Luckily, the light worked well with a fresh set added.

Then today I stopped and snagged a Memorex CD player (MD6451R-BLK) for .75, player only. I tested it out at home and it sounds good and the anti-skip seems excellent. The reviews I read say the battery life sucks but eh, that's what rechargables are for.

I was at the Goodwill tonight and they had PILES of sealed PC games that came from Best Buy, all for $5 each. The ones that stood out to me were Oblivion and Shivering Isles, Gothic 2, Lineage 2, but I didn't see one duplicate in any of them. Mansfield, Ohio; I'd be amazed if anyone's from around here but it would be worth checking out. I did end up with Reservoir Dogs, Mars Attacks, Evil Dead 2, Seven and Fargo for a buck each, I'm pretty happy about that. They also have a NHL '94 for SNES complete in the box, the nerd in me hates leaving it every time I'm there but I can't seem to track down a SNES.

At the Volunteers I found one of those plug-and-play Atari joysticks for a grand total 96 cents which I was thrilled about. They had a few PSX games, I didn't really look at them. No consoles tonight, boo.

You're telling that to the guy who said $4.99 was overpriced for a mint copy of Marvel Super Heroes. I'd be overjoyed to find that at $4.99...

He is the CHEAPEST gamer. Though a true cheap gamer would buy them, flip them, and get games he wants.

Why don't have a single post rather have 2 similar thread with same topic. Once the query is solved locking the thread is a best thing to do.There are two threads made just to infuriate you. We are all out to get you.
