Me and Weavshow just had our second matchup and I finally beat Mr. Undefeated. I'm up for some more games tonight and tomorrow. I want to play teams that I haven't played like the Cavs, Hornets, Lakers, and Pistons.

Edit: Thanks, I learned something valuable from our first game. This time you did the 3 point chucking ;)
After the first game I learned to control the paint, just ask the Suns. I never let him get closer than 15-20 lol.

Yeah, we had a good match. Actually, I guess it wasn't so good considering I never got closer than 10 points. Talk about ice-cold - subtract Eddie House, and the rest of my guys combined to go 1-34 from 3-point range. Special mention goes it to Pierce (1-18) and Ray Allen (0-12). Okay, maybe that means I should've learned something, but still. They were good shots (for the most part) and Dudedizzle was playing a nice zone. With Yao guarding the paint, I didn't have much choice.

Just played against MSUHitman and lost 93-82. Zero defensive effort and poor rebounding on my side, no defense at all in the paint....he was scoring at will and some silly turnovers ( I want to pass the ball to my PG, not shoot it from my end of the court Z!) caused me the game. Every time I got close on the scoreboard he would pull off a run and I could not get it moving.

Yesterday sucked. It wasn't totally under my control, though. I ended up not being able to sleep on Tuesday, but before I resigned myself to staying awake until leaving at 7 A.M., I messaged a couple people for games. I played 2 NHL league games, but no one from this league was available/awake.

My doctor's appointment was a standby one, which meant I'd get in to see the doctor whenever he had a ago between other appointments. So, having been awake for close to 24 hours already by the time I got to the office, I ended up waiting in an uncomfortable chair in the lobby with crazy people (shared physician/mental health clinic, public for the county- guess I get what I pay for at $37 a year/no insurance) from 7:30 A.M. till almost 4 P.M. Last time, it only took 2 hours. I slept for 15 hours after I got home. It had been a day from hell.

I'll be home all day today, though, so message me on Live. I'll respond if I'm on. If not, try CAG. I usually check things on here fairly often throughout the times when I'm home.

WeavShow did after I posted in here today, but we couldn't meet up at the right time, and XXXplosive messaged me while I was offline and sent another one 10 minutes later saying to forget it. Fucking time zone differences.

I played 2 games vs. Hitman earlier. He was the only one to beat me in the last league, and he beat me twice in this one. Both games featured each team gaining 10 point leads, but both were close throughout otherwise. He won the first by 5 points, and the second by 13, but that was mainly because he drained all the free throws he took when I intentionally fouled him. Great games, both.

I'm thinking it's a video card issue of some sort. I'm going to call them later today and see how much it will cost them to fix it. If it's close to 100 dollars I'm probably going to say screw it and not send it in. This is the second time in six months, I don't want to do this twice a year.

Anyways I'll post back here tomorrow to let you know for sure. I guess if Goodfella wants to completely take it over that's cool. As far as replacing me I can let everyone know tomorrow.

I have no idea why I clicked on this thread (boredom I guess), but hasn't it been reported that if you can get your 360 to RR, even if there's something else wrong with it, MS will fix it for free? This might be an option for you. If that plan works, as soon as you get that thing back in working condition, I'd dump it on ebay/Craigslist, and pick up a brand new Jasper system from Dell or something. It might seem like a lot of work, but in the long run, you should come out ahead.

We're dying right now, and if Franky drops we could be dead. Basically, the Warriors, Lakers, and Pistons need to step it up and get more games in. I have added all of them (Lakers list is full however) and rarely see them on (with the exception of MSUhitman being away for hours lol). We need to start enforcing a 2 games a week rule immediately because the league is definitely on the same path as the first.

EDIT: It seems as the Pistons and Hornets have gotten a good amount of games in, I guess I'm just never on at the same time as them. Basically, whenever I'm on, I can only play the same people: Weavshow, FrankySox, (Suns sometimes) and Juan C is on but I have never played him.

You're gonna have to wait till the servers are back up since the only way to join a league is within the game. Hopefully it's just a temporary outage.

Me and WeavShow just played one heck of a game. He pretty much had the game in the pocket but committed a couple of turnovers at the end of the game that I capitalized on. I missed a key free throw that would've iced the game but he nabs the rebound, throws the Ball to a wide open Ray Allen and ties up the game with a 3 pointer 89-89. In OT my guys just ran out of gas and could not hit anything....I only had 1 FG in OT but I really don't care, I'm very satisfied with the way I played most of the game.

Seriously, that was the most fun I've had in a game for a long time. I don't think either of us ever led by more than 6 until the last couple minutes. Yeah, those turnovers at the end were awful. Thank god Ray bailed me out. I saved a couple replays and I'm gonna see if I can get them up on the board, although I'm not too sure how. Great game.

And I really couldn't miss from the 3 point line. When I was up by 40 in the third I put my bench in and started chucking 3s with brent barry and shane battier and it took me like the first 8 swishes to finally miss :P

I just had a good game with WeavShow. I was leading most of the 1st half by close to double digits, but he stormed back in the 3rd and I completely collapsed in the 4th. Rondo lit us up just like he did in the real game today!

2k never responded to my message, and I couldn't find anything in the forums. It seems to me like Matt is done with the league - he hasn't posted in here in forever. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me, Matt.

But even if he is done and we can't replace Franky, I don't think we should let that kill this league. Everybody else is active, and I'm confident we can finish. We can just give everyone with games left against those guys automatic wins. I understand this could be a little problematic, since it's not entirely fair to Juan, who lost a game to Franky earlier. Thoughts?

While I have admittedly been very busy these last few weeks and had difficulty scheduling games with people prior to that, I have intentionally not been playing. Since school started, I have seen my gaming time cut down drastically. I have been monitoring the thread and only see 3 people talking about playing.

Between that and Franky being out, I've been waiting to see if this thing would last. It's been looking bleak. I've been using my minimal gaming time to play other stuff rather than wasting hours in yet another failed CAG sports game league. So what is up with this league?

Fair enough. But I'm not sure why you say you only see 3 people talking about playing. In the last three days, GoodFella, Dudedizzle, Immortal, XXXplosive and I (that's half of the league) have all posted about playing, and in the last week, five different teams have participated in games (some more than one). If you think that looks bleak and are therefore hesitant to play, that's fine, but that seems like a pretty good showing to me.

I receive game requests from other members also. If you want to arrange a game against somebody in the league just send them a XBL message; Plain & simple :)

If it wasn't for 2K's sloppy support we would've had Franky's replacement playing a long time ago but they don't even reply to my messages. Looks like I'm gonna have to raise hell in their message boards to see If I can get their attention and help us get this problem solved.

Yeah, the games I've played in this league are about 10,000 times better than random XBL matches. Rajon was pretty worthless this game, unfortunately. In retrospect, I probably should've left Cassell in (who went nuts off the bunch in like ten minutes). Regardless, it was a great game. There were probably about six or eight lead changes in the last five minutes. Unfortunately, Ray wasn't able to pull off the last minute heroics like he did against Juan C, and missed a shot at the buzzer.

But obviously the league is slowing down a bit - it seems like most of the people who are around the most have played almost all of their games against each other. I'd still like to see it "finished," though, even if it's not in the sense that everyone plays their full schedule. What if we did just fastforwarded to the playoffs, but instead of doing the standings by winning percentage, we did it by games played, and broke ties with winning percentage?

Maybe that'll be extremely unpopular, but whatever. I've had a lot of fun playing games in this league and I'd like to see some sort of conclusion to it.

Just played my final 2 against the Pistons. First game I couldn't hit anything, layups were being blown all over the place and he beat me pretty good. Second game was close, went down to the end. I had a chance to tie it with a second left but Amare missed the free throw. I only made 1/9 ft's. That's where I lost the game for sure. It's a big difference playing Detroit, they let my big guys go off but they defend the 3 well and really get me out of rhythm.

I asked on the 2k boards about our problem adding a replacement, they said only the league creator can add one, so we might be screwed there. I just hope we're able to finish. I only have 7 games left, 3 of which are against the Lakers. The rest I have are 2 against the Hornets, 1 against the Rockets, and 1 against the Warriors.

I forgot to mention it but Barbosa got injured in my first game against the Pistons the other day. It really hurts as I only relied on him and Barnes off the bench. I've got six games left, half of which are against the Lakers. I've got 1 each against the Rockets, Hornets, and Warriors.

Dude, I did not quit so the game wouldn't register. If I was going to do that, I would have quit long before then. When we got disconnected on the tie game, 2K saved the game as a tie and gave us both a loss. So to play the game over, I did a custom game challenge so we could replace that game. The Commish has to make that game a replacement, It wouldn't register no matter what we did cause 2k saved that tie game.

Alright, I changed the Hornets @ Pistons to a win for the Hornets. And yeah Hitman, I'm sure XXXPlosive didn't quit to try and pretend the game never happened. I've played a bunch of games against him before.

What do you guys think we should do about the Warriors? The best plan I can think of is just to, as much as possible, split every team's season series with him. At first I figured I could just give everyone wins against him, but then I realized that we don't play a fully balanced schedule (I play him 3 times, for example), so that wouldn't be quite fair.

Once his games are out of the way, we'll really be most of the way through this league.

As for the Warriors, the only team that they get to play just twice is the Hornets I believe. We could just give out wins against the Warriors to everybody just to move the league forward really. The uneven schedule really wouldn't make that much of a difference since every team has one opponent on their schedule that they only play twice.

EDIT: Looks like some teams are scheduled to face 2 teams twice during the season.

Played another great game against Weavshow today. It was contested just like the first time when we played; the biggest lead for each of us was 7 or 9 points I believe and how about the 3 point shooting?....man, it was raining 3's all over throughout the game. I would hit one and on his very next possession he would answer back with one of his own thanks to Ray Allen (43 pts) who was close to killing me like once again with his 8 three pointers made like he did the first time we played .

Weavshow did tie up the game at 86 after going on a 9-2 with over 2:00 left but I managed to hold him off for the win 94-88 since this time around Delonte West did make his free throws and I got some good looks at the basket down the stretch. Overall it was great, win or lose I always have a great time playing against Weavshow. Hope we meet again in the playoffs :D

That's more than enough time to get the reg. season done so we can get the playoffs started. Seconded. That sounds like a good deadline to me. From the looks of other leagues, it looks like enforcing strict deadlines are the key to actually moving a league along. Let's get to the playoffs, already! And once we're there, I think we should keep enforcing pretty strict deadlines.

CAG NBA 2K9 LEAGUE - RACE TO THE PLAYOFFS - PLAY ALL OF YOUR REMAINING REGULAR SEASON GAMES BY APRIL 4!

Alright guys I have been talking with Weavshow -who is also a league admin- about how this is going to be handled should there be a problem getting games conpleted by the deadline:

- We will decide who gets to the playoffs based on who has the most wins on April 4th. Once we have the four teams with the most wins, we'll do what we have to with the wins and losses to make those four teams the top four teams in the league, and thus have the 2k server advance them to the playoffs

- Once the playoffs get under way we will fully enforce the "3 games a week minimum" rule. This rule was originally established by FrankySox when the league started buy It was never fully enforced. This will help a ton in getting this season completed sooner to crown the champ!

I advise everybody to just get a hold of your remaining opponents via CAG pm and XBL messaging. If possible add them to your friends list.

Man, I swear WeavShow is one of the developers of 2K9. I beat just about everyone else I play (except MSUHitman) but I've lost to Weav by 20 and 19. I thought I had a shot and was at least ensured of not losing by 20 again (I didn't, but barely) when I cut it to 4, but then you went on another run.

That truly was a game of runs, and closer than the score indicated. Kobe and Fish went cold in quarter #4, and your whole team was hot despite the fact that you had subs in for half of the 4th. Good game, man.

I was getting pissed off at my guys because they don't do a damn thing when I want to run a defensive set and the stupid game has a habit of not saving my playbook/ presets. It just boggles my mind how your players where shooting uncontested shots while my idiot players just stood there in the post and didn't even raise their hands or do anything...no help defense whatsoever. I think the help defense setting is set to zero by default, I always have to change that setting during the first time out. I usually put it at about 75% full.

Really? the same thing happened in the last game I played against the pistons. 2K must of done something because I never had my help defense settings at zero until recently.
