I've decided on getting a new 1080p HDTV.
I will be mainly using this TV for Gaming(of course), Movies, and Once in a while as a PC monitor(DVI to HDMI).

These 2 HDTV's are what I've come down to. Both are in my price range, but price should not be a factor in helping me decide.
Different TV suggestions welcome if they are 42"+ and $1000 or less.
I will be purchasing the TV tomorrow when I wake up and after I check this thread.

I'd go with the Vizio personally, but either would do you very well. I'd pay the extra $99 for that extra 5 inches.

Second. If you can Go with a Projector. Most have better picture quality than a tv. and are larger screens <mine is 118 inch> and more easy to lug around.
Only problem with a projector is You need a dark room. But you said this was for your gaming experience and if your like me you probably play in a dark room off by itself anyway.
The projectors of today are hundreds times better than just four years ago.

The secret to a projector is make sure its lumens are high <more than 2,000:1 i think>, and make sure to buy the extended warranty, replace one bulb and it pays for itself. I replace bulbs every three years roughly. Well worth it. Plus just imagine playing a Pc game like Crysis on your new 118 inch screen, talk about impressive.

Hope this helps.8-)
