Hey guys...
Well i am having a slight dilemma.... i was wondering if i could get other peoples input on this..that'll be about 4,250 worth of points...
I originally wanted to get a ps3 controller (cuz everything else in the sony store is pretty much overly priced) HOWEVER, i have no 2 player games as of yet...
other than the resistance series... is there any reason for the second controller?
I was thinking about getting Drake's fortune (the only game i'd get) but.. itll be $52 worth of points and I know i can find it for cheaper at a lot of places...
Also, there is a PSP bundle.. I will have to throw down money... but ehhh I am worried about its longevity...and the fact that it'll cost me about $160 worth or points

well honestly if you waited this long I say wait some more until your points build up higher. then from there get something that you don't have to pay out of pocket for.
hope it helps

sorry for the confusion... i am currently waiting to build up some more points... but i just wanted other people's opinion of whats a better use of points...
the main concern is whether or not the additional ps3 controller is worth it
Not the right forum, but I'll steer you in the right direction... if you have the Sony Card, login to the website and go to this link:
https://www.sonyrewards.com/en/your_account/purchase_credit_form/
What this is, is a form you send in that enables you to buy a Sony product with your Sony card and redeem your rewards points for a credit to your Sony Card account. If you have 4200 points, you can go to best buy (or any authorized Sony dealer.. which is most major retailers) and buy a game for $39.99. Fill out the form in the link, send in (a copy of) the receipt from the store and in a few weeks your credit card will be credited $39.99 and your rewards points will be reduced by 3999. PM me if you have further questions

Yeah, it's pretty damn cool. Best Buy has been having $40 sales on new games a lot lately and that's how I got Motorstorm: PR in December. Check the faq on the reward site, I think there is a limit of 60 days on purchase. And as a true CAG, make sure you check off Bonus Points and Cash Credit to maximize value™ :D

Sounds like youre not sure what you want, and that the choices youve settled with arent something youre happy with. You may as well wait until something comes along you really want, unless the points exprie of course.
Quick Question - Do You need to open a new line of credit to get Sony Rewards points?
No.. but the rewards program is pretty gimped if you don't (IMO). For what it's worth, the credit card is damn fair in comparison to others I've had. I was a capitalone customer for something like 7 years and they upped my interest rate to the upper teens for no reason. (I carried a small balance of a hundred or three on my line when I had a few thousand available.. I never missed or was late on payments.. if you know how credit really works, I was their ideal customer). I opened the Sony Card a few months earlier to get the PS3 with the $150 credit they offered and it was sitting around with the PS3 balance getting paid off in minimum payments while I had 0% interest for 12 months. The Sony Card has a 10.99% rate for me right now (not perfect, but pretty good) so it was a no brainer to close out my capitalone I was using to pay utilities and switch all that over to Sony. The rewards program is a bonus. I answer the Wheel of Fortune and Sony Picutures Television questions daily but I also accumulate points by auto paying my utilities with the Sony Card and paying it down every month. (You get outstanding credit by carrying a 20-30% balance on your card. When you pay off your balance monthly, the CC company doesn't profit from you and doesn't bother to report you as a "good" customer to the bureaus.. when they profit from your interest they take the time to report you as good and that's how you build credit. No matter how many times people tell you to get a card and pay off the balance, that is wrong.. you will be ok if you do that, but you will never reach the top tier. This is how the world works. Keep it manageable and you and the credit card company both win big for a small fee). The Sony Card is all good if you know what you're doing and have some discipline.
To be more on topic, I *think* the rewards program limits you to spending only 5000 points towards a prize no matter how many you have, and you can't buy a prize completely with points if you don't have the Sony Card. It doesn't hurt to play with it and see what you can get, but it's really not all about that. When you have the Sony Card you can buy things and get cash credit on your account like we talked about above... or if you want, simply just build points and completely redeem them for prizes off the site... either way.
It is what it is.. it's meant to "Reward" you for using their card and if that's your mindset that you're going to use your credit card for certain purposes anyway, use the Sony Card and benefit from it in this manner. People get in trouble when they don't understand credit (majority of people do not) and there are credit cards out there with more to offer, but this caters to me as a gamer so I use it.

i actually like my discovercard a bit more... you get 1% back on EVERYTHING you buy.. and its actual cash.. not just "points" or something like that... you can actually use it to pay off your balance (only hitch is that it gets dispersed in 20 dollar increments...)
anyways... thanks for all the help
And YES.. if you DO NOT have the Sony Credit Card... you are LIMITED to 5 bucks off every purchase made at the sony style card... so its KINDA useless... but you can still play the wheel of fortune game and u might be able to get some..
I myself just signed up for the card and did the whole tutorial that can be found in the video game deals forum.. as a result, i got about 3,300 points, or 33 bucks... + 1200 (triple rewards for my ps3) = 4400 which (thanks to the above post) can be applied to my previous amazon.com purchase of my Sony PS3 (I also got the 150 cashback through amazon), bring the total down from 400 - 150 -44 =
206 bucks for a ps3.... NOT TOO BAD!
