Not bad for 65 dollars... but there's 36 episodes and the original list price is 179.99. What the hell is wrong with HBO? I know not every place sticks to the MSRP, but the fact this was at one point attempted to be pushed for more than 150 bucks is astounding.

Damn that's an incredible price. I'll be getting this for my father as a birthday gift.
Thanks!

I would bite, if not for one little problem.
Sooner or later, HBO is going to start releasing all their shows on Blu Ray.
I really do NOT want to have to buy this again. And I'm pretty sure they could make this show look great in blu ray.

$65 is high? This is ON SALE at Best Buy right now for $105 and is normally priced at $150. I know the single season sets sell for $50-$60 each. I think it's a phenomenal deal, I bought 2 (one as a gift).
Deadwood is also the best show ever made, it's too bad it ended the way it did...cancelled. It was supposedly one of the most expensive television series to maintain and it never got the huge following it deserved. I think it mainly had to do with the dialogue which required a 3 digit IQ to understand. It wasn't really a show that you could watch and understand just by the visuals and the actions of the characters.
I highly recommend this set, worth every penny.
I've seen every episode of Oz, enjoyed it but it sometimes got pretty goofy and wasn't very realistic. Never watched a single episode of Rome. Heard it was good.

Yea, I'm in for one at this price. Loved season 1. Not waiting around for BD. Everything will 'eventually' come to Blu Ray but whatever. I usually only watch these shows once anyways.

Never watched but the one complain I hear is that the series basically didnt end which left some people unsatisfied right? So do you think it will be satisfying in that regard?

$65 is still too much for two seasons of a TV show.
And was Six Feet Under on sale this week and I missed it? That was the only show I care about.

I hate Amazon so much. I'm trying to buy a surround sound setup, so I have put off buying new games/movies/music for a while and of course this is when they offer these amazing shows at great prices. I have to pass on all of them.

I can't believe some of you are complaining about the price. I got this when it was $75 and it's totally worth it. Great series, but I wish the packaging was a little better. $65 is an amazing deal because that's what one season usually costs!

Agreed. I couldn't pass it up, although I told myself I wouldn't buy myself any more games/DVDs after the beating my wallet took over the holidays. Oh well.

You know I really wanted to jump on the Complete Wire set they had up a couple of days ago, but I read this same complaint. With this many disks involved, worst thing could be 1 (or more) disk really late into the show is messed up. Plus if you want to resell later or what not.
That's one plus for waiting for the Blu Ray release, those things are near impossible to scratch up.

I just know HBO must have huge plans for this in Blu Ray.
If they don't, they don't deserve my money.

I grabbed as I had been hoping all week for this. Great price on probably the greatest tv ever. Brutal, funny, awesome characters you will never forget. More cussing than humanly possible but once your hooked in it just fits with the show. I could not wait for blu ray. They just released this set on dvd so who knows how long until blu ray.
