yea, buy 2 get 1 free sounds really good but when you do the calculations and buy two 59.99 games and get one free each game will cost you about $40 not including tax. This is like a 33% off sale. For those wanting to get uncharted or R&C the $30 on amazon's goldbox and the christmas deals at the box stores were better. Dead space was also on sale at target for $30 during black friday. I can justify spending $40 for LBP and Valkyria since I haven't seen those cheaper.

I looked for Valkyria Chronicles at my local Target a couple weeks back and they didn't have it. The game didn't sell well and I think most Targets might not even have it in stock.

If you try to return without a reciept, POS will refuse it. There is a max $35 per item on no-reciept returns.

I think you only need to return one. Its really just trading the game you have for one that wasnt in yet. An example could be you returning RB2 for SF4 they would be the same price so I dont think it would matter. Its like going to one store and getting a game for the 360 and exchanging it for the PS3 version at another store as long as they're the same price. You would have already paid for and got the deal so I cant see them being able to take it away from you. Plus if its sealed with a receipt I dont see a problem with it.

Target will let you return these in any quantity. All, 0ne, or two of them. They will credit you the game price - 33% of the price. If all you want is LBP you can go in and buy three games and return two and you will be paying $40 +tax for it. Because the system works like this the placeholder strategy that works for TRuS most likely will not work. Feel free to try and post back your results.

The only problem is TRU uses a half assed computer system (think back to all those glitches with the green tag clearance) while I'm sure Target uses a much better computer system. I'd be surprised if Target lets you do that.

Doesn't matter what it's tagged...if you look closely at the tag, you will see that the DCPI number (207 24 0205) is the same as the regular, non-bundled version. Punch it into the price scanner, if you want...it will come up $59.99.

I know you said you personally didn't want it, but I thought I'd just point this out to others. Not too bad of a deal, esp. if you just want the headset. You can trade in the Game to Blockbuster Video for about $30 credit if it's not your thing, then you've got 2 fire games and the official BT Headset for around $100, basically.

For anyone interested in DMC4, I found some copies w/a free mini strategy guide included. Had to look through the stack, some had the guide included, others did not. Also they were marked on one shelf at $29.99, $39.99 on another shelf. Pointed this out and the cashier honored the $29 price (got 3 copies for $63 after tax). This was at the Elizabethtown, KY Target.

NOTE: The copies I found had a small sticker on the back indicating the free strat guide was included.

Thank you...I don't know how many times this has been said already, but people just don't want to hear it, I guess. As I mentioned a few pages back, just look at your reciept if you have already taken part in this deal. They have it explicity marked as a package deal, and even have each individual title listed with a reduced refund amount ($40/ea for 3 $60 titles) if you try to just return one of them. I decided that I wanted to switch out 2 of my 3 games today; it was no problem, but they had to basically refund the transaction, then re-ring it with the new games.

Just don't want anyone to grab something they don't want, and then be disappointed in a month when they won't let them exchange their crap 'placeholder' game for KZ2 of SF IV.

When I went to BB to get my PM I went to customer service first to make sure they would match it, and they said yes, so I grabbed the games I wanted, which were LBP, R2, and S2, so I had the add with me and then went to the check out lane not customer service, because customer service said they would only price match games that were in stock, so I knew from previously visiting Target minutes b4 entering Bestbuy that my Target was out of both R2 and S2, so the man at the registered just looked at the addand saw the three images on the add of the games I got and was like wow great deal and rang me up!!!!! so they never called to see if the games were in stock!

Well, you could:

A. Acutally play them
B. Trade them in to Blockbuster Video or Gamestop for a loss
C. Return them to Target, assuming you haven't opened them, and kept your reciept.
D. Give them to someone who will play them (again, a monetary loss, but maybe a karmic gain...who knows?)

If you're going to try and take advantage of their policy, just go return the games and wait for the TRU B2G1 sale. You might get a chance with the "placeholder" situation with them.

so what you return a game and get $40 back and put that $40 into say Killzone 2. you'd get 3 games for $140 instead of paying $180

LBP = $60 with a return value of $40
Skate 2 = $60 with a return value of $40
Resistance 2 = Free with a return value of $40 (but really worth $60)
total $120 for 3 games which would really be $180

you exchange the free game and they give you $40 for it you pay the $20 and that brings what you paid for 3 games up to $140 so you still saved $40.

For R & C check ebay, don't waste your "free" , you can find new ones for around $30 and P of P is well worth it. A good platformer, check out any of the reviews.

I can confirm this too. Was at the Wilsonville, OR Target and the headset and non-headset versions were both $60. I had the guy scan them both to be sure. I got one of the headset versions (I already have the headset from SOCOM but why not right?) along with Web of Shadows and Midnight Club:LA, but they still had about five left.
