Wondering about the pros and cons of the wireless keypad that connects to your PS3 controller. Looks like weird placement and seems like it'd be about as bad as text messaging.

Wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for a wireless keyboard instead? If not for gaming for easy web surfing on PS3+TV.

The wireless keypad works very well according to a friend who was sceptical.
It doesn't way anything either so it won't make it top-heavy.

I use a regular IR wireless keyboard, I like it, I keep it out of the way under the coffee table on a lower shelf until needed.
The negatives with that is that you need the IR receiver plugged in, and you can't be too far away or the key presses won't register.

A bluetooth keyboard is best, but most expensive.
No receiver of course, and good distance.

I figured it would be best to have the wireless keyboard, because you're not stuck using it just for the PS3, it can be used w/ destops that you have, (or may have in the future). I'd like to bluetooth, keyboard but like dallow mentioned, they're expensive... too expensive for me.

I have the Logitech Mediaboard Pro (with Bluetooth), and I also bought the Sony keypad. I prefer the Sony keypad for the amounts of time I use the keyboard with the PS3. It's smaller and works well. I really like the touchsensor mouse feature.

Not sure, but I think the keypad also works with a bluetooth-enabled PC. I haven't tried myself.

Do you mean RF? I didn't think IR keyboards existed.

Be sure to give a review if you end up getting one, I'm really interested in getting one.

i have the wireless keypad for the ps3 and think it pretty much sucks. it, in no way, compares to the cheaper xbox chatpad. it doesn't light up and it's really awkward to type on those small keys. not to mention, it's a pain to have to charge it separately. personally, i'd have rather wasted my money on a bluetooth keyboard since it has other functions. the touch pad is sweet, but it has zero functionality unless you like browsing the internet via ps3... personally, that is why i have a computer.

You're right, I do believe they used to make IR mice and keyboards though.
They were the worst.

I'm glad I got the mediaboard pro for 40 the day after it was released (marked as an open box item, but everything inside was still sealed)
