My dad gave me a newer Sony record player that he had bought a few years ago and never used. It has a single power cord and a audio left and audio right (red white) cable. I really don't want to buy a receiver and speaker if I don't have to. Is there some way I can use a audio left and audio right adapter that converts it to 3.5mm or something so I can hook it up to computer speakers?
Also if anyone knows the proper way to clean older records without damaging them that would be good to know. Thanks.

RCA > 3.5MM adapters exist, yeah, but wouldn't computer speakers have RCA as well?

I'm not sure I haven't really had time to look. I was under the impression that most computer speakers just have the 3.5mm headphone jack.

My Logitech speakers only really have a 3.5mm input but they came with an adapter with female RCA left and right inputs on one side and a male 3.5mm input on the other.
Also, they sell brushes specifically for cleaning vinyl records.

Unless your record player has a built in pre-amp you will need an external amplifier/receiver with a phono input in order to make it work.
