I need to know the best gamepad for fighting games...for the PS2 + Dreamcast. I need a gamepad not an arcade stick.

Why not try the new SF pads from http://www.streetfightercontroller.com/ and then if you want to use it on a DC I guess you can use an adapter.

Well I hear a lot of people saying how great the Saturn controllers were. I was thinking of using that for the dreamcast. I don't even know what they look like though as I never had a Saturn. Also people are saying that those SF2 controllers aren't all that great.

Well, the Nuby pads are similar in design to the Saturn ones if you want to know what they look like. And people who've criticized the new SF gamepads are people who prefer arcade sticks anyways, but then again that's not what you are looking for. If you still want to go the Saturn route, you need to get one of those Total Control adapters but they may be hard to find.

I just got an SF Controller last night and personally it is the best controller for fighting games I have used since the old Saturn pads. If you can find one grab it.

yup, the saturn controllers were AMAZING, I even liked the americal controller. The Street Fighter controllers are VERY similar. I too would like to get a good pad for dreamcst though. The best I've found is by Mad Cats, cuz it has a huge D-pad and 6 face buttons. Problem is, all the buttons are rupper, so they kinda stick. Is there a cheap way to get even a PS2 SF controller working with DC? Or what about for Xbox?

The cheapest I can think of is this (http://www.levelsix.com/detail.aspx?ID=22) adapter from level six. Unfortunately it's been backordered for now.

I never used those saturn pads. I always loved the genesis six button pad and never felt right playing street fighter on anything else. Here is a dreamcast converter that will allow you to use a Playstation controller or a saturn controller:

I guess I will just give the SF controller a shot and see what I think. Can anyone provide a link or a pic to the different Saturn controllers?

Pulled the trigger and bought the Akuma Street Fighter Controller. It's awesome. I really like the layout and I think the d-pad is awesome. This is one of the better fighting pads I've used in awhile. Not an arcade stick but I dig it. Worth the money.

Does anyone know if they have a converter for PS2 controllers to Xbox.

I really like to use the new street fighter pad on my Xbox.

Thanks

If you want one purely for the DC, I recommend the ASCII fighting pad. It's almost identical to the JP Saturn pad. They're unfortunately a little hard to get ahold of - I'm still looking for a second one myself.

There's the magic box. Also awhile ago Nuby mentioned something about bringing the controller and an arcade stick out for the xbox, but it doesn't llook as though they are going through with it yet.

Does any one own a magic box and can recommend it.

I don't want to spend a lot of money on something that doesn't work as advertised.

thanks again

I really hope they do some kind of controller for Xbox we really need a pad like the Street Fighter one.

Me too...not only for SF, but the xbox is quickly getting a ton of quality 2D fighters and it could use a better controller for them.

Do you have a picture of what one looks like? Where can you get one? Ebay?

Wait, these adapters work for the Street Fighter controller? They only say they work for PS1 controllers.

Now that I think about it, do official PS2 controllers even work with PS1?

I own 3 of these and while they look very cool they are not so reliable. They tend to break down (the d-pad loses sensitivity in a short period, requiring lots of force for any directional move to register). Also, while not necessary for fighting games, the built-in rumble dies out after a while as well.
