Mobile Light Force 2 was a port of Shikigami No Shiro, although apparently not an incredibly faithful one (I've never played the original). And from everything I've read, Castle Shikigami 2 is the sequel to Shikigami No Shiro.

Exactly. Outside of cutting all the story elements, messing up the title and names, and removing TATE, MLF2 was Shikigami no Shiro 1. This Castle Shikigami 2 is Shikigami no Shiro 2. MLF1, however, was actually Gunbird. XS apparently wants to turn over a new leaf; their explanation for why their previous shooters (MLF1&2 and Sol Divide) were butchered was that they were handled by another company. While I don't know if that's really the truth, I sure hope so.

He's wrong...MLF 2 was a butchered version of Shikigami No Shiro. This is a US port of Shikigami No Shiro 2. My advice: never, ever listen to what the majority of stupid customer review/preview people say on EBGames.com. They are about 95% idiots or liars or both.

Even if it is "downgraded", for $9.99 the shooting action will be more than worth it. MLF 2 was definitely worth $9.99 as far as I'm concerned, just for the gameplay, and regardless of anything that might have been taken out of the original game.
