Used to when I was high school age. After a while I ended up getting tired and I was even more quiet than usual (not good). Not to mention that friends sometimes got shady over sharing/not sharing. Not for me though it's ridiculous that it's illegal. If legalized, most of the illicit activity surrounding it would go away (IMO). Yes I smoke it. I smoked twice a day in high school and sold it. I was pretty wrapped up in the marijuana 'lifestyle' if you can call it that. After a while it started to make me paranoid as hell and I had to let it go.

After a few years away I took a hit at a party and had no problems so now I smoke it whenever I'm trying to get the creative juices flowing. I will never go back to smoking it constantly but it really does help kickstart me when I'm being lazy about sketching.

In my experience Joints are a waste because they burn your weed up to fast. Learn from Michael Phelps and use a bong or at least a Pipe.

Weed never got rid of any head aches for me, It made them if you smoke all day. Also never fell asleep faster it made me think more. Weed down here in the valley is plentiful. You pay 10 bucks and you're getting a 7-10 gram bag... so joints isn't really a big thing. I get a lot of headaches with my vision for some reason, and smoking relaxes my eyes and usually does away with headaches unless we're smoking a whole crapload.

I'm fairly liberal, but I admit I'm scared what would happen if they just legalized it.

I've got family that uses it regularly. They are the most angry, snappy, short-tempered people ever. Of the six regular users in my family, only one has a regular job. The others haven't worked in decades.

I had a couple friends when I was a teenager who started doing weed daily. They went from being athletes to being no-ambition slugs who sit around all day living with their parents and using their welfare checks to smoke weed. It sounds like I'm making it up, but I'm not. I've known a couple people who can function using the stuff recreationally like once a week. But I can honestly say I've never known a regular user of it that has anything going for them in life.

And for all the talk of it being a herb or somehow not as bad as smoking, I call bullshit. Those two friends of mine were not tobacco smokers. I've smoked since I was 13 and I don't sound as bad as they did the last time I talked to them. They're not on anything else to the best of my knowledge. But they clearly had messed up their lungs as much as they did every other aspect of their lives.

As far as the game play aspect, I play a lot of Halo 3. With the weed users, it's usually a 1 good weeding smoking player to 10 bad ones ratio. I can say the best player I know is a huge stoner. But most of the them are terrible, uncordinated, bad shots, can't take direction in team matches, and half the time disappear in the middle of the game because they have no attention span.

Same here. I don't really have a problem with those things, but they just don't interest me.

In fact I even support smokers on some issues, since I've been in college they've gone from letting people smoke outside to only smoking at certain doors, to only smoking 25 feet away from any building, to not allowing any smoking on campus at all. I've never had any problem talking to people outside who are smoking, it's ridiculous they can't do it anymore (or I guess most of them do it in their cars). :roll:

There are other things to do that can get your body feeling like that and even better - ever have an adrenaline rush after running for 5 or 6 miles, or mountain biking up a huge hill or trail, THAT IS THE BEST HIGH for FREE. Money can't buy that kind of experience you could keep. Weed just burns away, then you go and buy another baggy; what you have left is an empty sack and a negative bank roll.

However, since moving to California, I have become very much in favor of legalizing it. Companies don't like paying an employee who might end up with some sort of non-work-related problem, such as getting arrested, or having health implications, etc.

There's a place around here that won't hire smokers (as in tobacco). The thinking there is that you'll drive up healthcare costs over time because you'll be more prone to adverse conditions and such.

Again, get someone who actually knows about this stuff for a better answer - I think I'm just hitting on a vaguery.

This sort of enters into those stories you hear about on the 'net where someone got fired because they put a picture of themselves getting plastered at a party on their Facebook profile, which "doesn't positively promote our business."

Sounds right. I work about 37 hours a week but they still haven't made me full-time. Now, if I got full-time status, I'd get to enroll in all kinds of health care benefits or what not (even though I'm not interested). I think employers honestly don't care what you do, so long as they don't catch you doing it or have evidence of it. A positive drug test is proof enough. The only tests I've seen point towards almost no harmful consequences from smoking weed. Cancer rates in joint a day smokers are near that of non smokers (I've actually seen a couple of studies that said they were slightly lower) while people who smoke a pack a day of ciggies are over 20 times as likely to get lung cancer. The only thing I can think of is that you do get some tar build up in your lungs, but you could always get a vaporizer...

That's said, since weed doesn't have all the tar and other additives of cigarettes I imagine it is much less likely to lead to cancer. But inhaling smoke of any kind is likely never healthy for the lungs.

I had a friend do some research for school and found a study that found one marijuana cigarette creates the same amount of tar in your lungs as 6 tobacco cigarettes. I don't know his source so don't ask, but I wouldn't be surprised because that shit is sticky like a mother fucker. On the other hand, you don't see people taking 4 breaks per 8 hours of work to go smoke a joint. You smoke a joint and you're good for hours while cigarettes only have an effect on you for a few minutes.

IMO, I don't know why it isn't legal, but it's not worth arguing over as they will never legalize it here in the U.S. Other countries have done it along with other drugs and it has basically turned a portion of their population to shit.

I hate smoking anything in general. It fucking smells, and is medically proven to fuck with your lungs.

That being said, if you can do it and not let ti control you, then you have big ups from me. I'm pro-legalization of all drugs, under the auspices of a quality control and regulation program that DOES NOT artificially inflate prices (like they do with alcohol and firearms).

But I must stress again that weed and cigarettes are fucking STINKY, and to me any girl smoking instantly loses about 60% of her attractiveness. Especially if she has the dreaded yellow-teeth.

I take like one hit a month after bad days and then sit on the couch and watch cartoons and fall asleep. I can have an 8th last me about 6 months.

Given the obscene amounts of drama allowed to run rampant in my life (among other things...) I have never been interested in any sort of recreational drug use. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of that changing in the future or around those I trust, but for now I am completely content without it.
