Do you think the changes are enough to save the N-gage name?

Breaking into the portable market is tough. Doing it with a phone that makes you look like you're talking into a taco makes it impossible. In other words, almost any change for the N-Gage will be good.

It'll still go bust though.

Yeah but is that the guy from Type O Negative in the picture?

That one dude thought it was Danzig but...that's not right. But now I have "Mother" stuck in my head.

It might help if they make every Nokia phone N-Gage compatible without marking up the price. In otherwords, N-Gage is doomed.

Can't polish a turd.

Just because you put syrup on shit, don't make it pancakes.

I've never understood why people feel the need to iron creases into their jeans. It just looks ... wrong.

Damn, i was just about to eat pancakes too. Must..get..image..out of...head!

Anyway, this sounds like a big kick in the ass to the 6 or 7 people who bought the damn thing. Any CAGS actually buy it? I guess the fact that it sold so poorly makes it easier to redesign because less people are gonna complain.

It's to try and take attention away from the fact that he hasn't washed those Jeans in two weeks. Check out those "I've been sitting down for a long time" creases!

You can paint a cowpie gold but underneath its still a cowpie.
-paraphrased, I don't know but I'll never forget that stupid quote, from Uncanny #350 for some reason.

Anyways, that's John Romero in the pic. And the only way I'll pick up an N-gage is if they are in the CC sale and ring up $0.00. Even then I might reconsider it. However that next-gen N-gage sounds intriguing.

I don't know if I would take the N-gage if it were given to me. I don't like nokia at all, the phone service sucks, and all the games are crap. Give me a GBA or PSP (fingers crossed) Any day.

You can always use a headset with it. Then it wouldn't look like a taco by your head.

Still.. I wouldn't get it.

Mmmm... I love tacos. Put some hot sauce on that baby and I'd buy it in a sec

I don't think having John "I made Daikatana!" Romero talk about your product lends it any credibility. It's kinda like using that guy that played the dad on Happy Days to sell your crap on infomercials.

He has no time to get a new N-Gage designed, he's busy trying to get The Misfits back together.

oh man, I don't think it's going to help all that much. I mean are there even like 20 real games for the thing ? I new model is a little bit of help but as long as there are no games then their is no point in buying it.

A taco looks good at first, but after you eat it its shit.

Well, I'll give Nokia credit for trying. Microsoft had some pretty bad hardware design in the beginning, but the Xbox turned out decent. Hell, the Xbox looks ugly as hell, and the original controller was worse. But they listened to complaints and introduced the Controller S and ditched old Duke.

Granted, a controller is a lot less of an investment than redesigning the entire system, but its Nokia's fault in the first place for green lighting some of its baffling design decisions.

If the N-Gage 2 turns out to be a better thought out device and if they get a killer app or two, then they might have a chance. Until then the Gameboy will laugh and kick sand in its face. Unfortunately, Sony's PSP will probably turn N-Gage 2 into Dreamcast/Game.com.

(Not the biggest fan of Sony/Playstation, but I have to admit I think the PSP will sell well)

Your agenda against spong is annoying and gratuitous. Please stop bitching about spong everytime someone posts news from there. It is clear you have a bone to pick with them, but take it out on them not on us here.

I agree with him. I can't believe people source Spong for "news".

Check GameSpot's Rumor Control article. They say that spoke with John Romero and he says that he didn't give an interview with the magazine that was quoted. He did say that he couldn't say any more due to an NDA with Nokia (and his company). So...new model on the way, but it might not be all that article makes it out to be.
