Can demos screw up your ps3?

Just had to reformat my ps3 ( 80gb mgs bundle version) becuse it stopped recognizing disks in the drive. Im hapy that thats all i had to do but i realize that the past 2 weeks i got an odd message after my system froze up after i played 2 demos ( both which had online gaming ability) where it said that my ps3 would need to fix something or anthoer error on the system.

im not sure if maybe this was a preexisting problem but like i said it only hapened these 2 times and culminated with my ps3 not reading disks when yeserday it did. if anyone knows anything else about this id like to know so i can avoid any future problems.

Your ps3 is hinting at you that it will die soon. If it's still under warranty send it to Sony now, so they can fix it for free. Otherwise, you'll likely have to pay Sony $150.00 for them to fix it, when it finally dies (stops reading discs completely). It has nothing to do with your demos/games.
