I'm heading out soon and won't be able to check back here before I pull the trigger. My 5th 360 died (out of warranty) so the next one I'm getting the extended warranty. What store is the best one to get an extended waranty at? I want the most hassle free just walk in and swap when the next one I have craps out.
Many thanks!!!

I had/have the $50.00 PRP plan from Best Buy. When my 360 RROD I boxed it up, brought it in and swapped it for a brand new 360. It was all rather painless. However, I have heard that it doesnt go so smoothly for everyone...so YMMV. Whatever happens make sure you get a Product Replacement Plan not a Product Service Plan.

Crap. I get home and realized they added the PSP, not the PRP. I guess I gotta call out there tomorrow and hopefully they can change it. I told the guy at the register 5 times I want the "Product Replacement Plan".

You're fine, they allow you to return to the store and purchase one for a certain amount of days.

Advice needed. OK, I went back and they told me the Product Service Plan is the only thing available now. It was $29.99 for 2 years. I tried calling before I went out there and of course there is no fucking answer. I tried three different times. Amazing. Anyhoo, is the PSP worth it? They said if you have any problems they try to fix it.... I can't imagine them repairing a 360. Plus couldn't they sit on it trying to fix it for weeks? Or will they in the case of a 360 just swap it for you right away?

I'm pretty sure PRP's aren't available everywhere.

I guess this advice is a little late, but I'll give it anyway. If you have a Costco near you, I would absolutely recommend getting one from there. They come with a lifetime warranty, so you can swap it out whenever it breaks for a new one. And if the price drops, when you exchange they'll give you the difference. I bought a 20 gb for $350 there last summer, and it red-ringed in October. I brought it in and got myself a 60 gb and $50 bucks back because of the price drop. All you need is the receipt and everything that came with it.

It honestly might even be worth getting a yearly membership just to do this. I think they're $50, which is what you'd be paying for the 3-year warranty anyway. Although I'm not sure how their replacement policy works if your membership ends.

Costco rocks if you're already a member, honestly though you get 3 years from MS for the red ring so don't worry about PSPs from Best Buy.

Best Buy on the whole kind of sucks.

The PSP sounds like a downgrade from the PRP. I would avoid it IMO. I wonder how they would try and fix a 360 by themselves. Doesn't seem like they would have the ability to.

They come with a lifetime warranty

Wasn't the "lifetime warranty" abolished in 2007?
