Anyway, I'm curious as to what CAG's fav drinks re. I mostly drink 40s and my shots of bacardi 151. Although I still like a white russian every now and then. Had em my fresh year of college and I still think those are the best. Ok I'm done for awhile... time for this horse to hit the hay.

Occasionally I drink. I try to avoid doing it all the time tho. I don't want to have drinking as a hobby, but sometimes it's nice to get a little shitty and blow off some steam.
Personally I like good beer, like Weiheistephaner and Newcastle. I also enjoy a nice gin and tonic occasionally. Also it's always fun to set sail with the good Captain, a la Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum.

THe last time I drank, I took 5 or 6 shots of Bacardi 151. It was some broad's birthday or something and I vaguely remember putting my fist through the cake. Maybe I have low tolerance or something.

It's not that I envy you, or want to be you, but I definitely respect you. Part of me wishes I'd have stayed pure, but that's just not what was meant to be, and I don't feel like I've missed any sort of train.

I for one want to make it very clear that I'm not one of those assholes that drinks and thinks therefore everyone else has to drink or there's something wrong with them. It is (in fact) a very personal choice as it can greatly effect your body. So, I remain neutral on the issue, I'm just into new types of drinks and all types of fun. I really gotta sleep, I'm gonna go pass out to some old Fresh Prince, wake up tomorrow round 1 or 2, go to the bank, call this girl I've been talking to the past week, go out see some old friends and probably end up in the same place as I am tonight... I drink, but very rarely nowadays. I live in a city where there is 24 hour alcohol, no last call, so everybody here drinks (and half the time while they are still at work XD). Let's just say drinking has lost its charm for me because alcohol is so prevalent. Plus I can't see how people drink every day, and still function and go to work. :shock: My drinking is now limited to very special occasions with friends or family.

Plus alcohol poisoning sucks. Get it once and you will never want to binge drink ever again. :(

I don't really drink that often but I like Red Bull and Vodka. I enjoy Heineken as well. I'd like to be able to drink more, but I got Asian glow so I turn bright red after almost any alcohol. What I don't get is the people that drink and then go onto message boards on the internet. When I used to drink, it was because we were out partying every night. I never got smashed to go online. So either some people have some messed up habits or are just exaggerating their states <most likely> when they go online.

I have never drank before and I never will (27 right now). I never had any interest in it. When I was in high school and college I was in a lot of athletics and I didn't do anything that could affect my performance (smoking or drinking). Also, my uncle is a drunk and I lost a relative in a drunk driving accident (he was hit by a drunk driver). Those kinds of things makes you not want to mess with the stuff even more. As for myself, I'm just toned down. I drink socially, and with far less zeal then I did just a year ago. I went from drinking 5 or 6 days a week my final semester (can you say, gained 30lbs?) to drinking twice a month sans-binging. I don't regret a minute of my heavy binging days (more than a few fun nights started racing my friends to the bottom of $5 22oz margheritas---for a full happy hour---and ending God-knows-how), as some of the best times in my collegiate career happened while inebriated. Before any straightlace starts crying "well I don't need to get drunk to have fun" --- SUCK IT UP. I don't NEED to drink to have fun, it's just that it is a fun activity in and of itself.

I used to be a binge/party drinker back in my younger years (envious of anyone still in college:)) I would drink the cheapest beer I could find, Beer Beer or Hamms usually was my drink of choice. (When you drink a 12 pack or more a day, you gotta go cheap).
Nowadays I prefer bourbon. Not just any old cheap bourbon, but Knob Creek or Maker's Mark. Nothing like a fat cigar and a glass of Knob Creek after a 40 hour week.

I'm all about beer. And Scotch. I like my Macallan 12 year and Macallan Cask Strength. And while I should be a snob, I like Chivas too even thought it isn't a single malt. As far as beer goes, I'll drink anything and I mean anything. If I'm cheap then it is Icehouse or Miller Highlife light. If I'm looking to spend money it is Honey Brown, Samuel Adams, Blue Moon, or Killians.

no i don't drink. i am underage,but i don't ever want to drink. i personally think it is a terrible thing to do, but i don't have a problem with people that do decide to drink, as long as they don't do it around me. i also will never smoke, seeing as it killed my grandfather (2 days before my 4th bday) and a friend of mine.

I'm another one of those that doesn't drink. I've never even tried any type. It just has no appeal for me. Of course,combine being a CAG with the price of drinks and that's one really good reason.

what are you talking about? most of the absinthe produced is 160-170 proof!! besides, the more alcohol it has, it ups your chances of getting drunk instead of letting the wormwood take it's affect. Yeah, the legal stuff here in the states is shit. no wormwood in it at all. Czech is the best stuff, since most of it has 10mg of thujone (the UK legal limit)

Not doing it is fine. It's your prerogative. Spewing forth nonsense like "it's a terrible thing to do" is a useless qualifier, especially since you didn't do it in the first place. There is a such thing as moderation, and there are also people that get wasted and remain sensible (i.e. don't drive while drunk, etc). "Getting hammered and driving is a terrible thing" is something a nondrinker can say with validity. Clam up and quit preaching. You come across like one of those youngins that say "I won't have sex until I'm married!" till they're blue in the face, then when presented with their first opportunity go crazy for it.

Oh, and don't bother going to any college with even a modicum of partying. You won't get more than 5 feet from your dorm room without running into someone that is drinking, who will obviously offend your fragile sensibilities.
