Damn, I still need to pick up Roger & Me on DVD.

I have a feeling it may be cheaper on release date ($15.99-$17.99..speculation)....but DeepDiscountDVD.com is top notch.

I'm sorry, but that really doesn't seem like that good of a deal to me. If it was like a two pack with Roger and Me for $20, that would be good. But close to $20 for a DVD? Meh.

On a side note, why is Moore trying to push Fahrenheit 9/11 as a Best Picture nod at the Academy Awards (or whatever big movie award there is) rather than Best Documentary?

Because he is hoping Fahrenheit 9/11 gets shown on network TV before the election and that would disqualify it from the Best Documentary category. I believe there is 9 month window....

For some balance I should point out that on Sept. 21 FahrenHype 9/11 can be pre-ordered at $19.99:

http://www.fahrenhype911.com/buy.php

Also not that great a deal, but whatever. . .should be an interesting film.

Some are also speculating that Michael Moore Hates America will go to DVD on Oct. 5:

Saw this, saw Bowling for Columbine. Decent movies, but they didn't change my view on anything. I hate Michael Moore.

He's laughin' all the way to the bank.

Oh btw, I think the reason people hate him is that he engages in activity that 150 years ago would be considered seditious.

Personally, I don't hate the guy - even though he'll never admit it, his life demonstrates how well the capitalist system works for those who chase thier dreams.

He started his career criticizing the wealthy elite, now he's one of 'em. Like I said, - all the way to the bank.

its funny how people hate michael moore for showing the bad side of Amerikkka.

Personnaly i enjoyed the film, but i cant think of any reason to own it. Rent it, maybe, just for the bonus stuff.

That said, i believe it will come out to places like target for cheaper....

Hmm...I wonder if Walmart will even carry it, "W" brand ketchup and all...

i just watched the trailer for fahrenhype 9/11 and i believe it is one of the worst thing things i have ever seen. they somehow try to say that moore thinks that there is no terrorist threat. what the hell are they talking about?? in no way is that what moore said or implied..

if you want to see some real lies and propoganda go right ahead and see it, i mean, they interview ann coulter in the trailer... she thinks that mccarthyism was a good thing!!!! now that is nuts.

edit: one spelling error

Moore is an inspiration for me.

Not just because I'm a psuedoly fat filmmaker guy, but, because his movies are both funny, serious, and dramatic, all at the same time. Hard to pull off the subjects in that way. Definately a rental for me, but, I'll buy it sometime around November.

I don't think it's making things up as much as manipulating the truth. Granted, you're only getting one [biased] side of the story, but it isn't like he's fabricating this stuff out of nowhere.
Bottom line--whether or not you like Michael Moore or what he has to say, the man writes some incredibly entertaining stuff. Boycotting him is ignorant and hypocritical, as nearly everything you do is putting money in the pockets of some greedy, lying bastard (who may or may not be overweight).

Moore came to our college campus this past weekend as part of his Slacker Uprising Tour......it was pretty interesting and cool seeing him in person......there were actually about 4,000 people there......Moore made a lot of jokes here and there, but he also made a lot of good points......even though he IS biased, i still like what he's doing, which is getting people involved and encouraging them to vote

I not going to go into all this again, you can see how I feel by looking at other posts. But I don't see how it's ignorant or hypcritical to not buy something you don't like. Keep in mind what you find entertaining is not entertaining for everyone.

And to be frank I used to find Michael Moore's stuff entertaining despite my views on a situation because he used humor well (Much like the Daily Show for me), however he has used far, far less humor in his films lately and replaced what was humor with unentertaining spin IMO.

I'm not saying you should buy this DVD, I just think it's ignorant to boycott Michael Moore for being a "greedy liar" when we all support much worse "greedy liars" every day. Most of us eat at McDonalds, shop at places like Walmart, and buy games from Best Buy. How many of us have been to DisneyWorld(Land)? Hell, Americans are probably the most dishonest, most greedy bastards on the face of the earth.
Political views aside, not liking Michael Moore because you don't think he's talented or funny is one thing. Boycotting him because he's a money-grubbing liar is hypocritical.
