Actually, that would be the Marathon series, for Macintosh, that defines Bungie.

A little fucked up company that started by out selling pong with the name spelled backwards, they have come very far since then.

Sonic, without a doubt. For Activision, I would agree with the Tony Hawk Series, for THQ I would say the WWE games. Konami would be the MGS games.

I agree. I remember when Baldur's Gate first came out and few people had heard of Bioware. It wasn't their first game (Shattered Steel has that honor), but Baldur's Gate was their first big hit. They made a great impression with that game.
