I'm really tempted to bite on a ps3, but a lot of factors hold me back.
1. Possible pending price drop
2. Shift to 45nm cell in the coming months (less power, this thing sucks 5x the power of a normal blu ray player when playing movies)
3. Large back-log right now.
4. Let my Sony Card credit build up so I have more credit to count against it for a purchase credit form.
Hopefully dell still has these deals after the price drops.
I'm having a similar dilemma right now. I don't want to jump on this deal and then a better deal comes in a few days. I don't really have time to play ps3 but I want one :cry: i dont even play my xbox that much lately either :bomb:

thanx for the help guy but i dont know i called sony and tried everythin. the reset thing did not work. i got a service number with them so hopefully dell wont be douches and charge me the restocking fee. forgot to ask about shipping it back but hopefully dont have to pay for that either. i just made it to BB 5 mins before closing to get another one with the free 50 dollar gift card and guitar hero

For an Arcade, I'd actually rather have an external card. That way, if your 360 ever craps out, you'd have a heck of a lot easier time transferring your saves to a new system. I'm not even sure how you'd handle transferring data from a dead system with an internal memory card.
Yeah, but if you get an external card, that means you didn't get a Jasper and it's more likely that it will crap out.
Wouldn't you rather have it internal, and almost no chance it will crap out? So far, it seems like the Jasper systems don't RROD.

everythin and works fine for av but not hdmi.You don't happen to have a composite cable and HDMI cable connected to the PS3 do you? :) That might be your problem if I read that correctly. Try using only one or the other.

Hmmm. There's gotta be some component-to-HDMI converter somewhere for $10 or so. If I'm being too idealistic, then you might have to get it repaired. Last thing I can think of is if one of the little metal fingers inside the HDMI is bent. That happens with S-video cables all the time, and sometimes bending them back works. I hope this will help. XBOX 360 Elite - $339.95 - save $60 - no jasper
XBOX 360 Pro - $254.75 - save $45 - maybe (15%) jasper
XBOX 360 Arcade - $170.39 - save $30 - yes jasper
360 Arcade + 60GB HDD pack = 360 pro without a wireless controller.
$170.39+~$106 = $276.39
Is it worth $22 to get a jasper and a new copy of Pac-Man Championship Edtion (+5 more games)?

I got a Pro w/ Endwar for $260 after taxes.
Sold Endwar for $25 so I ended up paying $235.
I did however get a Falcon, so far it runs cool and quiet, are the Falcons really very prone to failing?

I'm a chronic procrastinator and I missed the Arcade bundle because I waited one day to place my order!! I called them up and they said they will call me when they get it in stock. I hope is soon 'cause I finally got the next gen bug and my PS2 it looking pretty weak right around now....lol.
If I knew for sure that I would get a jasper with the other bundles, I would jump on one of them.

Anyone else having problems with Xbox 360 Pro order?
The date keeps getting pushed back and after having called dell and complained about their crappy order status tools, they have a support rep calling me every other day.
The support rep called again to say the order was delayed yet again until the thirteenth (over a month after I ordered a product that was "in stock"). They asked again if I wanted to cancel the order because according to their vendor, MS is launching a new model "soon" which is causing supply problems for the Pro model.
Now, I think the rep and/or vendor is full of shit since I have seen a bunch of people on this forum getting their Xboxes. I think the End War bundle I bought was TOO much of a good deal and are delaying until I give up and cancel the order.
SO… Anyone else having problems with Dell?

I’ve seen at least one other poster in this thread saying that their order got delayed over a week, but as far as I can tell, most of our orders shipped out right away. I ordered mine on Feb 15th and I received it on the 23rd. It turned out to be a Falcon though, so I’ve since sold mine on ebay.

Bought a Pro Endwar bundle on 2/16. Got off the phone with a Dell rep earlier (after receiving numerous emails in the last week saying that it's going to ship for sure even though it's been pushed back to 3/16) who says that Microsoft doesn't have anymore. I called bullshit.
Here's what I shared in the SD thread:
I just got off the phone with a rep from Dell trying to get me to cancel my Pro order in exchange for a $100 Dell gift card which I could immediately spend on an Elite. He had me go to the website & look up the Elite (Dell Part# A2170073) and then tried to pull a bait and switch, telling me that I could have that replace my order. When I asked if I would get it in lieu of what I ordered, he said yes. I then tried to make sure it would be at no additional cost and then he backtracked and said that I would be canceling my previous order, that they'd give me a $100 gift card and I could order that system (he kept saying it had extra G-B's instead of gigabytes which is kind of funny). He then calculated how much I had previously saved (over $150) and then again offered the $100 gift card. All of this because "Microsoft is out of the product I ordered".
If I were getting a $150 gift card, I'd cancel and buy the Elite. Instead, I told them I didn't want to cancel and they'll be talking to Microsoft and calling me tomorrow about my order.

I saved the chat log just in case. That's why I like their live chat feature, at least you keep proof of what was discussed.

Same here ordered a pro Tuesday, arrived Thursday. So far the Dell shipping is awesome (had a similar experience with a laptop a few months ago).
I'm so happy to finally have a 360. I should have done some research because I didn't know it wasn't wireless out of the box lol, need to go get a wireless adapter tomorrow (and some games). The back near the power supply says 12V = 12.1A. Couldn't find the lot number on the machine. But going off the power, Seems to be a jasper.

You should try to ask them by using their chat feature. I have a chat log printed where the Dell agent tells me that I can return it if I don't get the Jasper system she insisted all the bundles they have available come with.
I asked: "So, if I order one of the bundles in stock and don't get a Jasper, is that a valid reason to return it?"
Agent said: "Yes **** we do have 21 days return policy for that"
Of course I have the conversation printed in case I decide to order a system from them and don't get a Jasper. Matter of fact I'm going to go into chat again and see what a different agent say....I'll report back with their answer.

How am I being unreasonable?
I have chatted with 3 different agents this week and each one of them have assured me that I WILL get a Jasper with the Pro bundle. They go even further and tell me that I can return it, at my expense, if I get an older chipset.
So in fact they're advertising directly to me a Jasper Pro 360. I have copies of the chat conversations, I'm not crazy, I know exactly what they're offering me when they ask me if I want to place the order.

I wouldn't believe a word Dell says in this regard. I wouldn't count on the chat records helping you either. I talked to the customer support guy and his manager, and there was absolutely no support for sending the system back because it doesn't have the latest motherboard.
I got a Zephyr (2nd gen) board, obsolete for about a year and a half, in a box manufactured on 2008-10-09. Zephyrs have a 50-60% failure rate. There is at least one other person on this thread who got one. I just got finished talking to Dell and if I send it back now they are going to charge me a 15% restocking fee.
They gave me a case number and told me that they are going to talk to Microsoft. I'm supposed to call back in a week or so and see what happens, but I'm not optimistic. It took a lot of talking for me to get them even to do that. As noted above, there is no reason for Dell to do anything for us other than say "now it's your problem" other than to promote customer satisfaction. It's really Microsoft who screwed me.
If I had just gotten a Falcon, I would have been OK. I didn't expect to necessarily get the absolute latest. As it is, I'm probably just going to wait a week, get told that I need to pay the $50, pay it and be rid of the thing. That's just the way it goes.
However, if you haven't bought an XBox from Dell yet, I'd seriously think about buying from a store where you can at least look at the system. Or, in my case, unless Dell helps me out I'll just skip the 360s altogether.

I have no idea. I'd take just a Pro System for the price I paid minus any additional games. Right now, I have to call back on the 13th (I think, the guy sounded Indian and was hard to understand). My order's not been canceled though. Oh and because of the delay, I was able to get free next day shipping on a desktop for my office.

I'm starting to think that the "Agents" at dell are a bunch of lairs. I have talked and chatted with many of them and every single one of them have assured me that all the systems they have are jaspers...including the Elite!!!
Even the customers reviews at Dell contradicts them. I very much want to order the Pro bundle from Dell and use this coupon, which by the way is still valid, but hearing some of the stories in this thread is keeping me from doing it.
I would even order it if I knew I would at least be getting a Falcon, but a Zephyr?? That would indeed be a slap in the face!

My wife ordered her own 360 Pro Holiday Bundle from Dell. We got a Falcon, 175W and 14 AMP. Manufacture date is 9/20/2008. Thought about sending it back, but I doubt we'd get a Jasper. Their site does specify Holiday Bundle, which means last year's model. We live in MI and it looks like it came from either a IL or KY distribution center. My wife ordered it on Friday and received it on Monday! Fast.
Unlikely you'll get a Jasper unless you get a console packed with End War, a Resident Evil 5 Elite or one manufactured after February 2009.

Coupon extended to April 29th works on any console or portable.
