The EPP discount has been mentioned in the other Dell one. The same one that I ordered through. Yours does off an extra 20 bucks in savings which is awesome had I known last week. I bought a arcade unit for $165 last week and got it wed. It is a jasper.
My original xbox just went back to MS with a RRoD after the recent update.
I am amazed the jasper is so quiet and cool. My original 360 was very loud and the jasper I can barely tell its on. One thing I did notice and didnt like was the sound the drive makes accessing a game. It reminded me of my ps2. Its nowhere near as bad as the whirring from my original 360 but just sounds off when accessing the disc. It was on CoD4 and after installing it to play from the HDD no more noise.

Yeah, is there a thread that explains how to get to the EPP site and what restrictions there may be? Is it as simple as adjusting the URL? I can't search it cause it won't let me use EPP as a search term! All I know is that somehow people post links to the EPP site and everyone is able to use them. I just ordered my 360 using that EPP link and I don't even know what EPP is! Side note... I think I started a trend of using EEP instead of EPP when I mispelled it in my post above (fixed now). It should be EPP, although the EPP links have "s=eep" in the URL, so I get confused.

I went for the 80 GB. With that and two games (brand new) it came out to the same price as the 160 GB Bundle (possibly less). It depends on if you want that much storage (I cant imagine using all 80GB much less 160GB)

So, yeah I would just try to look at some good deals on games and go for the 80GB.

It's a digital format so the quality is the same no matter what cable. Also there is a standard an HDMI cable must pass in order to be sold. I paid little to nothing on Amazon for mine and they are amazing. I only suggest Monster if you are getting a 50 to 100 ft HDMI cable.

Funny You mention this I had someone give me a RCA HDMI Cable and it was good looking then Someone gave me a Monster HDMI cable much better. The Monster cable was far more clear and the RCA cable seemed as if it had a cloud over it in comparison to the Monster even though the RCA was good the Monster was better.

hey Just wondering Why do so many people buy 360's if they know they break. I have a PS3 and want a 360 but am to scared to buuy one. Do people think it's funny when they have to replace the system multiple times? I just don't understand. I also read how some people have 2 or more 360's so they can stay in gameplay while the other gets fixed. Is there something i'm seriously missing out on the 360? One 360 should suffice many and new buyers, you have your standard one-year warranty and a three-year warranty for the RROD. The Falcon and Jasper sets are much better than the launch ones, even though they are no means perfect. What more can you ask?

WTF!? I got my End War bundle and the headset looks like the kind that they give out with the messenger pad (the end is just a metal audio plug and doesn't have the plastic piece with metal plug and 2 plastic plugs). Needless to say, it's not working very well... not really working at all. Anyone else get this?

I can't help you with the PS3 info, but I can tell you that you missed the boat for the Endwar bundle. They sold out a couple of days ago. You could still use the coupon code in the first post, though. That would get you a pro for $240 plus tax.

I ordered a 360 pro a few days ago and it's scheduled to arrive on Monday. At the time that I ordered it, it seemed like a 50/50 chance that I'd get a Jasper. But now, after seeing all the people who ordered one reporting what model they got, it's looking like an 80/20 chance that I'll get a Falcon. I really don't want to get a Falcon. If I do, could I possibly return it to Dell?

I'm getting my Endwar bundle sometime tomorrow. From what I've seen, it looks like I've only got about a 20% chance of getting a Jasper. So I've been trying to figure out what I should do if I do, in fact, get a Falcon.

I thought about just returning it to Dell, but unless I can come up with some excuse that they'll consider "legitimate", I’m gonna be charged a 15% restocking fee. When you add to that the cost of shipping it back to them, I’d be out $50 to return it.

I guess that leaves selling it. If you don’t mind my asking Trip1eX, how did you sell your 360?

Craigslist, you'll sell it easily. I sold my 20 gig 360 for $270 on Craigslist in January. My 40 gig PS3 for $300. Basically broke even on the 360, made a profit on the PS3.

If I do get a Falcon though, what would be a good asking price for a sealed Xbox 360 pro with the two free games? It’s gotta be less than they would have to pay in the store, obviously. If I’m just looking to break even, all I need is about $235. But why not try and turn a profit? Would $275 be too much to ask?

Also, on average, how long would it take to get somebody to make an offer?

I'm selling my Falcon on eBay right now. I can tell you when it ends if you really want to know. If you have good seller feedback and keep the price lower than retail (you should still be able to break even) it should sell relatively quickly. People love to see free free shipping too.

You won't find these at retail but there are falcons out there that do not have HDMI. I had a pre-falcon xbox before HDMI. To make a long story short, after 5 broken 360s, I was finally sent a new one. A falcon manfactured in August 2008 with no HDMI. Apparenly MS is/was manufacturing new 360s with no HDMI. They shipped them without HDMI to prevent people breaking their old 360s on purpose.

Just passing along a warning if your puchasing a "falcon" 360 on Craigslist or Ebay. It might not have the HDMI. Rare but possible.

I'd give Dell customer service a call and tell them about the situation. Mine shipped with a defective controller and they shipped one to me via fedex overnight. There is no reason a person buying a 360 this late in the game should have to worry about getting a zephyr console.

I'd give Dell customer service a call and tell them about the situation. Mine shipped with a defective controller and they shipped one to me via fedex overnight. There is no reason a person buying a 360 this late in the game should have to worry about getting a zephyr console.

Totally agree with skagamer, call Dell. Personally, I think you got scammed. If you got a "holiday box" with the free games, there is no way a zepher would be in there unless you got scammed. Someone must have switched out the original 360 in your box and replaced it with their old one.

I couldn't resist at this pice and pulled the trigger on a 2nd Xbox 360 (Arcade model) for $148 with tax and shipping after all the discounts. With the ability to stream movies from Netflix, play AVI movies via thumb drive in the USB port, and my ever growing HD-DVD library (keep those $5 movies coming), its worth it for that price even without the gaming.

I'll either pick up a cheap, used 20GB HD or just move my 60GB HD back and forth between units. Will have to do the same thing with the wireless adapter (why can't they include Wi-Fi on these things!). I refuse to dole out that kind of cash for another wireless adapter but its the only thing that works consistently with my wireless router.

I'll post once I receive unit re Jasper / Falcon.

And regarding the shipping times, all of the consoles are shipping out of Fresno, Cal. I live in Boston, so it took over a week for it to creep across the continent. People who are reporting that they got it supper fast all seem to be posting from California or a neighboring state. Obviously the time it takes to get to you greatly depends on where you live.

For an Arcade, I'd actually rather have an external card. That way, if your 360 ever craps out, you'd have a heck of a lot easier time transferring your saves to a new system. I'm not even sure how you'd handle transferring data from a dead system with an internal memory card.

From what's been reported in this topic, about 85% of people ordering Pros got a Falcon.

I could be wrong, but I believe that everybody who ordered an Arcade got a Jasper.

Here's my results. MSRP - 20% + tax

XBOX 360 Elite - $339.95 - save $60 - no jasper
XBOX 360 Pro - $254.75 - save $45 - maybe (15%) jasper
XBOX 360 Arcade - $170.39 - save $30 - yes jasper

360 Arcade + 60GB HDD pack = 360 pro without a wireless controller.
$170.39+~$106 = $276.39

Honestly, I wish that I had done that instead of getting the Pro.

Another thing to consider is that I've been hearing a lot of rumors that the 360 (as well as the ps3) might be seeing a price drop in the very near future. Of course, there's no guarantee that this will happen, but if it does, you might be able to get a pro Jasper from some place with a high turnover of stock for less than the Arcade/60GB hard drive option.
If the price drops on the PS3, unless they plan on pulling another E3 1995, I don't see it going below $350. Microsoft might not even drop the Pro/Arcade, just drop the Elite to $350 and exchange high fives.

I'd actually rather have a wired controller. More precision, cheaper to replace, and no dicking around with either my battery charger or a play and charge kit. The only differences I see between the Pro and Arcade:

Storage
Paint job - Arcade is all white, Pro has silver disc tray
games included
Ethernet cable
headset

edit: You're right, 360 arcade comes with a wireless controller. (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/compare101.htm)

I'm really tempted to bite on a ps3, but a lot of factors hold me back.

1. Possible pending price drop
2. Shift to 45nm cell in the coming months (less power, this thing sucks 5x the power of a normal blu ray player when playing movies)
3. Large back-log right now.
4. Let my Sony Card credit build up so I have more credit to count against it for a purchase credit form.

Hopefully dell still has these deals after the price drops.

I ordered a Pro from Dell last week on this deal and got a Zypher (16.x amps and the old power connector) manufactured in Nov. of 2008. You could tell that they had tried to pawn this off on someone else because the seal was broken. I really cannot believe that they still produce them.

I'm going to buy an Arcade locally so that I can check in the store and then buy the harddrive on Ebay.

That happens whenever u change the output signal. that happened to me a lot. what u do is reset the ps3. with the hdmi plugged in it will then will work. keep trying.

for the record u are better off looking a tech site for help.

Turn it off then back on again. If that doesn't work turn it on, but when you do hold the key down till it beeps twice, then it should scan for optimal setting.

Make sure it gets decent ventilation. Your PS3 may be a defective console however, which is very rare but possible. Try double and triple checking your connections and read the manual for the PS3 and if you still can't figure it out after some time then I would considering returning it through Dell.

Have you tried turning off the master power switch located on the back of the PS3? Turn that master switch off for about 1 minute, then turn it back on and boot your PS3 normally running through your HDMI. Same thing has happened to me a few times over the past year and this always resets the video - it should boot and tell you that HDMI has been found. This also resets your audio output so check it and set it back up as well.

No need to do that. When you go to power on the PS3 using the touch sensitive button, hold your finger on it until you hear a beep. This will reset the video settings and it will ask you if you want to keep them.
