I have my taskbar set on autohide and so that when I move the mouse low enough it comes up on top of what I'm looking at. I have had it set like this ever since I first know how to do it back in 95 or 98 can't remember what one. However in vista with my fresh install the taskbar at times stays on top of what I have up. So if I'm using the internet or word and I move the mouse to the bottom of the screen it works fine. Then out of no where the taskbar will be on top of what I have on my screen and anything that it is covering that I can not scroll down to I cant see to use. The window does not get pushed up like it does when you have the taskbar set to always be on the screen. It seems like it just gets locked up and does not go back down. This has been hapening ever since I reinstalled windows about a week ago.
Also the mouse I have to have the bottom right hand corner over 90% of what I click on for it to click it. All other windows it have been the top of the arrow. I remember noticing this when I first got the computer however dont remember if I changed somthing that fixed it or just got used to it.
Anyone know of fixes for this stuff?

Are you absolutely sure the task bar is staying up WITHOUT an alert window? An alert window looks like this: http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e338/koggit/Untitledpicture-5.png
Note the orange Downloads window -- it finished downloading so it sent an alert but I haven't maximized that window since the download finished, so my taskbar stays on top (I, too, have taskbar on autohide). If I click that Download window at the bottom then minimize it again, then the taskbar will autohide.
Your second paragraph-type thing doesn't make much sense to me...

What I believe he's saying is that when he's using the mouse, instead of just barely needed to get the arrow onto what he's trying to click on, the arrow has to be covering the button, link, etc, instead of just the tip of the arrow.
OP, not really sure what's going on there, but sounds like something is up. Can you check for updated drivers or anything? I know on basic Windows drivers my Logitech G5 acts kinda funny, but once I install the Logitech stuff it works perfectly.

I don't have anything downloading or anything that changes to orange on the taskbar when that happens. I know that will keep it from going back down and when it first started doing this that was the first thing I thought of.
As for the mouse I have to find the right spot with the arrow in order for it to work when I click. It isn't just a simple point and click it is move the arrow over it then find the right spot and then click. I will check that with the drivers but dont know what mouse I have. I know it is a Logitech however what type I'm not sure of because it is about 2 or 3 years old.

Yea, I have no idea what you're talking about either.
As for the task bar, just click on it and then click back on what you were doing. I don't know why it stays up sometimes, but it happens.

The arrow seems to be working like it should now after drivers have been installed from logitech. As for the task bar it is not just click on it and back on waht i was doing. I have tried that. The damn thing just stays up untill I restart. It is not do to some program updating or some download that is done and it is leting me know.

I haven't encountered this, so I've no real solution. What I have is a question.
This option was first introduced with Win95 because many users were still on VGA 640x480 displays and screen real estate was precious. A lot of existing software expected to use the entire screen and giving up a slice of display to the task bar was a deal breaker.
Jump forward to 2009. 22" monitors are well under $200. 24" monitors are becoming the new sweet spot with prices getting below $300. (I recently bought a matched pair of 24" Samsungs at $250 each for a client along with a dual DVI video card and a side by side armature to suspend them off his desk, all for a total around $800. The armature was the most costly item.)
So why are you still futzing with with trying to reclaim a miniscule bit of screen area? Is there something more than force of habit?
I'd want to solve the problem for its own sake because I do that sort of thing but I'd also advise giving yourself a decent modern monitor.
