This my first deal that i have found but it is a pretty good one if you live in CT. The fye store in the Brass Mill Mall, Waterbury has marked down every game (new and used) plus every game acessary 25%. They have tons of games that have been released in the past couple weeks plus alot of older stock. They are getting rid of there game section so there is a chance for more markdowns. Hope this helps someone.

I had a friend check two other Fye's in CT, and neither were having this sale.

I meant to post about this.

I ran into the same thing at my Frye's. They had a video games/accessories marked off 25%. The guy said they were no longer gonna carry them and that come that Friday (last week) they would be sent elsewhere. Hence why I never said anything. I dunno if the games are still there.

It's a pretty good deal. The biggest problem is their prices (compared to alot of stores) are high. For example, several games now selling for between $10-$20 these guys still had at $40 plus. But if your lucky enough to find a normally $50 title here, it is a good deal.

In addition, things like the eyetoy and accessories are a deal as well.

I just went into my FYE's today (Lloyd Center, Portland location) and they were taking down the game displays. Nothing was advertising the sale and I asked about penny guides. The game guides are still $14.99. If they dropped the prices lower like Tower Records did, I'd be there so fast that the cardboard cutouts on sale there would fall over.

25% off high prices just means they're going to get down to normal prices.

I'll have to check the FYE's around here and see if they're doing the same thing.

YMMV I guess but at one FYE store yesterday a bunch of Namco Gungames were marked with sale tags and had heavy markdowns.

Time Crisis 2 was $30
Time Crisis 3 was $40
Point Blank 2 was $20
Point Blank 3 was $15
Time Crisis Project TItan was $15 or 20.
Robotech: Special Edition XBOX $23

All brand new w/gun, except for Robotech of course.

Dang! I first thought it said that there was a FRY's in Waterbury, CT with markdowns.... oh well...so much for being on the east coast.

There are still many games left. Anyone in ct should check it out at least for any new releases. Happy hunting

I wonder if FYE is getting out of the games market altogether and these few stores are a precursor? Most of the ones in the Chicago area seem to be getting almost no new stock of games or even consoles and with so many new titles just coming out, it seems kind of strange.

Might be a lot of people with saved credit and nothing to buy.

I wonder the same thing myself. My FYE has only gotten in 1 new title recently.

Not to worry about FYE, at least if my recent experience is an indicator.

Two stores in the Milwaukee area I visited recently had all the newest titles, including Burnout 3, Fable and ESPN Hockey 2K5.

I've gotten to know one of the clerks at one of the stores pretty well with all the CC $5 trade-ins so I'll ask him about this "rumor."

I seriously doubt they'll leave the game market, because I alone must have stuck them with about 20-plus CC games that were traded in.

Regardless, I'm trying to use up my in-store credit ASAP because if you look at their game prices on used titles, they're whacked.

I traded in multiple copies of ESPN Hockey 2K4 1 week before 2K5 hit and noticed they trying to sell my trade-ins for $33.....when 2K5 can be had for $19.99!!!

Who's buying these games at these prices???

Plus they won't price match anyone on the new games, but given the high trade values I got from them I still come out way ahead (example: Fable was $50 but I techically got it for $15 because 3 CC trade-ins got me more than $50 in trade credit).

Is the sale still going? I'm from Branford, CT so it's a little bit of a hike

Also, would someone be nice enough to list some of the standout games on sale?
