Pretty self-explanatory and not an amazing deal or anything, but this is the best price I've seen for this online. (other than $78.99 at DeepDiscount :cold:)

Xbox 360 - http://www.buy.com/prod/resident-evil-5-collector-s-edition/q/loc/108/208418785.html
PS3 - http://www.buy.com/prod/resident-evil-5-collector-s-edition/q/loc/108/208418786.html

$79.99 + free shipping + no tax depending on where you live. Not too shabby. The collector's edition retails for $89.99

Oh, plus you can get a free domain name registration coupon from godaddy.com if you just click the offerbox checkmark in your shopping cart. It's a $10 value, or whatever.

I think this CE is a waste of money compared to the SFIV one (movie, 5 character costumes, and a figure) vs. a worthless bag, a patch, and making of DVD that you can most likely watch on YouTube. I think I'll stick with the regular edition, but thanks anyway OP.

I just looked and it's not listed on GS anymore but they used to show an artcell or a print I forget now but yea that was the preorder gift.

I have the CE preordered at GS but i'm seriously considering changing to the regular edition. I've been suckered into buying way to many CEs this last year and have vowed to get back to being cheap. :) Besides nothing in it is very exciting so that's another reason to be cheap.

Plus an awesome looking steelbook case for the RE5 CE.

The only thing I like from the CE is the steel case. I wish they sold that version separately.

The regular edition is also on sale at Buy.com for $54.99. That's cheaper than Newegg ($56.99), DeepDiscount ($58.99), or Amazon ($59.99).

yes because a movie you can watch on youtube or download, 5 useless costumes, and a figure is so much better than the RE5 CE.

If you ask me they are both a waste of money and you come off as a asshole ripping on this CE while defending an equally useless CE.

I'm all for people that want these CE's, I'm just saying don't piss on someones parade when you have a virtually identical parade down the street you're participating in. Wow, stupid analogy but you get my point.

The messenger bag can be useful for me. My backpack I use for college is getting old, and has a few tears here and there. I'm not sure what I would do with the patch though.

As for the dvd, lets be honest here, you can say the same thing with the SF4 movie.

I don't want to deter anyone from getting this at buy.com, but apparently according to a recent kotaku article, gamecrazy has a RE5 snowglobe for their pre-order gift. That sure beats Gamestop when they have nothing to offer.

Already had my pre-order in at Amazon for $79.99 so I'll just stick with that. $10 is a pretty good deal I'd think. That sand globe does look pretty bland and cheap, but I guess you shouldn't complain about free stuff. Although if the game is priced as $89.99 at Camecrazy then it kinda costs $10...

When I said useless, I meant that I know that it will entertain me for a bit then just end up in my closest with the rest of my limited or collector's edition stuff. Though figurines do end up on my desk and calendars on my wall.

Yes, $90 is crazy. For $90 I expect a t-shirt, a bonus Blu / DVD with 3 hours of Anime / documentary, a book with artwork, 2 cd soundtrack with orchestral music / remixes from top Djs, a figurine of each of the main characters, a poster, a baseball cap, a mouse pad, a keychain and some stickers. Then, maybe $90 would be ok I guess.

It's a lot of money, but this is one of the few game series that I've loved all through the years. I still haven't picked up Dead Space (too expensive), so I don't know what I'm missing on the controls.

RE4 for Gamecube came out in January, and it was clearanced to $10 at Toys R Us by December of that same year. The question remains as to how long I'm willing to wait for an RE5 price drop.

I wonder how hard to get the PS3 CE version will be comparing to the SF4 PS3 CE. If the CE is again in short supply I might have to pull the trigger sooner. Then looking at Resistance CE and Fallout 3 CE being so abundant that stores have to price drop them in order to move them, I just don't know any more...

Yeah, I agree, but it still beats paying $89.99 + tax in stores. The tax was only around $6 for me and came out to a total of $86 something. I canceled my RE5 CE order @ DeepDiscount ($78.99 total) paying the extra $7 for the service here because of the whole Street Fighter IV CE delay @ DeepDiscount, but I'm expecting Amazon to follow in this suit at which point, I'm going to cancel this order and go there.

So you guys feel a bit better ordering from buy.com vs DD? To me, the two are pretty much the same (maybe Buy.com slightly better). Kudos to those of you got this for $80 on Amazon (before they raised the price).

Judging from SFIV CE, it does feel like RE5 CE is gonna be rare... But then again, DMC4 CE was on clearance (i missed it of course, but don't really care), who the hell knows. I'm sticking to my DD pre-order of PS3 RE5 CE.

I think RE5 is going to be more rare than any other collectors edition coming out this year. This game has been on the top (surpassing even SFIV) most anticipated on many gaming sites and personal blogs. So the demand is there.

Also the difference with DMC and SF/RE5...Is enormous. SF and RE5 are games almost everyone plays, even my friends who are "casual" gamers. DMC is kind of more niche, so perhaps the demand wasnt even there for the CE for it. Also DMC was console exclusive... Lots of variables.

For anyone wondering, Sven posted this on Capcom-Unity about Street Fighter IV:

"You pre-ordered, which is fantastic and I'm sorry that it didn't result in a CE for you. We did warn our retailers and fans that the collectors edition was designed to sell out in the first week or two (we didn't want them sitting on shelves month later the way most game's CE's do).

I just got the first week sales numbers and indeed, the CE's are almost completely sold through in the first five days on sale (which, again was the plan).

I'm suspecting that what we're doing with RE5 will result in the same situation (for those of you who haven't preordered yet)."

Take it for what you will, and if it's worth it to you or not.

Question to those who bought their SF4 CE from Buy.com. Did they ship yours in a carton box or envelope?

I read in another thread about the horror stories of buy.com shipping Halo Wars LE in a plastic envelope and some of them got damaged.

The RE5 CE is probably as big as the SF4 CE so they would probably ship the RE5 CE in a similar way.
