I don't think these Collector's Editions were ever really supposed to be rare, just an extended package for fans. Still, it really just depends, Biosshock's Collector's Edition is certainly more scarce than say, Fallout 3 CE.

This is a STEAL at this price!!!! The single player is the shit! It has online co-op, and the multiplayer rocks too! Even at MSRP there is a lot of bang for your buck!

What sets this game apart is the playability. The graphics may not be up to snuff with GTA 4 but the gameplay totally kicks GTA 4s ass! Who needs real world physics in a sandbox game? Where GTA focuses on realism, Saints 2 takes the fun factor and palyability of past GTAs and expands on those concepts. Killer game! Buy, buy, buy!!!

Pick this one up. I got the CE for $30 at CC last weekend and it was well worth it!

I logged 10 hours already. The character customization, when it comes to clothing, body types, facial type, etc, is extremely in depth.

Also, it helps that the game doesn't take itself too seriously.

The co-op is very sweet.
Just keep in mind, the game is a bit glitchy and freeze up often, but you won't care because it's that damn good!

It's all about supply and demand, and every one of these limited editions is incredibly overproduced.

You really need to ask yourself, are any of these special editions something you can't live without? Do I NEED it? Unless you do, then just wait for the inevitable drop/clearance. Hell, I've seen a lot of Collector's Editions drop in price and get clearanced out faster and even cheaper than the regular editions of the games.

Abso-freekin'-lutely. I pretty much despise both "rap & gangstas", and Saints Row 2 is easily one of my favorite games of this generation.

The character creation system is deeper than Oblivion's and the soundtrack is super varied (and much better than GTA IV's!): I created a bas-ass Irish dude and kept the radio tuned to the rock/metal and 80's channels the whole time.

Also, the factions in the game fall into a variety of categories, not just your stereotypical hoodlum from an Snoop Dogg video.

Seriously, if you like fun games, Saints Row 2 is pretty much your best option out there. Seriously.

I think you're taking these restrictive definitions way too seriously. Special Edition, Deluxe Edition, Collector's Edition, Premiere Edition, Premium Edition are all interchangeable to publishers. They don't have to quantify their numbers to anybody but their investors.

There are rare Collector's Editions and very common Limited Editions. And there are many Limited Editions with extra content, but Collector's Editions with hardly any crap in it. Just how it works.

There's also the fact that the estimate on 100% completion for the achievements is over 100 hours, which if you're strictly chasing points makes this game a horrible choice. I'm not sure whether I should ignore Elektrodragon or read all of his posts to see what other kinds of complete absurdity he posts.

I'm an achievement whore and I didn't even mind that much when the co-op achievements glitched because I actually enjoyed playing through the entire game a second time. I experienced more awesome moments playing this single game last year than all other games combined and I played a LOT of games. I'd go as far as to say it would even be worth it to buy two copies of this game and give one to a friend for free just so that you can experience playing it co-op with someone else, regardless of whether or not you are an extremely misguided and insane achievement whore who likes to spout nonsense on the internets.

There is a few reasons why it probably sold better. The ps3 version has a 2 gig install with no trophy support. And there are more 360 owners than ps3 owners.

Ehh, it's roughly around the same 2.5:1 ratio that 360 titles have over the PS3, so it's nothing to write home about.

Also, neither version sold well at all, unfortunately. Very unfortunately. I've heard nothing but glowing reviews of SR2 on the whole - maybe THQ needs to "NFL2K" this for a year and drop the MSRP in order to get it into people's hands and develop brand affinity for something other than GTA.

Oh, and I already got my SR2CE in my hands this morning. Daaaaang, <3 Amazon.

Yeah I just got mine in the mail as well... The 360 tin w/slipcover is massive in size. The game-case itself has holographic artwork. This beast is an inch taller and an inch wider than the Halo 3 LE tin but the same depth. I had to arm wrestle it out of the slipcover it was so tight; Jenna Jameson this is not XD

Got mine today. Almost done with GTAIV, and I think I am going to move this to the front of my backlog line to do a direct comparison. Loved the first one, except for some of the crappy driving, but I hear this is much better. I really like GTAIV, but not such a big fan of the "maintaining relationships" part.
