View Full Version : Street IV Tournament Edition Sticks for pre-order on Buy.com!

They don't ship until April, but at this point this is the only pre-order option up for the next batch of Tourney sticks when Madcatz gets them out. They also still have the standard editions for "pre-order"?

Yeah, it worked for me, but I changed it to go directly to the tourney versions of the sticks. Let me know if that works.
Also for those that think Apil is unreasonable, it is highly likely that the April batch will sell out immediately and also be used to fill current pre-orders. These sticks could be hard to find for the rest of the year, so getting in a pre-order on an April shipment is a good idea for anyone that wants one of these for less than $350.

Eh, the way I figure it, since buy.com doesn't charge until the order ships, then it can't hurt to just place an order now. Then if you find one before mid-April, cancel the buy.com order. Good enough for me. Thanks OP.

They are sold out, but are still allowing you to put an order down on one, for April. As far as getting one right now, everyone is sold out.
Here is the company line:
"Please note: This item will not be available at launch! Place your order today to reserve your spot in line. Additional Stock for this item is expected around Mid-April. Buy.com reserves the right to cancel any orders it cannot fill."

Credit cards- Since we don't think you should pay for your order until it is actually on its way, Buy.com will not bill you until your products, including backordered or preordered items, are actually shipped. In the case of Music Downloads we will bill you at the time of purchase.

In for one. I have a Hori EX2 on order, but it should've shipped days ago, which leads me to believe that I'm not getting it. Wasn't really down to pay $150 for a stick, but after a few days of playing, I've found it to be almost a necessity.

They didn't ship until a few days after SFIV was already released in stores. They also have a no-cancel policy on preorders so people were basically stuck with a late SFIV. Correct me if im wrong though, since this is basically (and still is) what happened to me. Buy.com said they shipped my copy of SFIV last Thursday, but UPS says the tracking number doesn't exist.
Edit: on that note, they also have SFIV fightpads for preorder for $37.99, with the ship date expected to be around mid-april.

Yeah, I just canceled my SE fightstick pre-order, when I noticed it also said mid-April. I didn't realize they said that for the fightpads as well, that's pretty weird. I did keep my TE sticks pre-ordered though, no reason not to get in line for these.
As far as the SFIV games being sent out late, the same thing happened with my bestbuy pre-order. I pre-ordered it before release and it didn't ship until a couple of days ago. I just got it today. Pretty shitty for a pre-order.

I wish amazon was doing preorders. Buy.com charges tax and shipping for me. Total comes out to $172.18. Also, the no canceling preorders is a big negative.
Just noticed they had the SE edition for preorder with free shipping.

On a side note:
I unfortunately interpreted "they charge when they deliver" to mean the same as "cancellable before shipping". I also used Paypal, so I was charged right away. I believe that's just a paypal thing though.

Yeah, I was wondering what was taking so long, and it wouldn't seem to cancel just the SE sticks. I ended up having to cancel my whole order, that did work.
I also had used paypal so it charged me. I am going to reorder the TE sticks, when my wife gets home with her credit card.

Canceling backordered or preordered items
You can request a cancelation anytime before your item ships and we will make every effort to honor your cancelation request. If your order has already entered the shipment process, however, we might not be able to cancel it and it might ship despite your request. If this happens, simply refuse the order or contact us for a RMA.
Please note that preordered games, videos, DVDs and books enter the shipping process when the order is created. This happens prior to release date in order to ensure timely delivery. As a result, preordered games, videos, DVDs and books cannot be canceled.
A controller is not a game. It would be like saying you can't cancel a Logitech Harmony preorder or something. I would imagine if you cancel a least 14 days prior to shipping there won't be any problems.

Also the Hori EX2 sticks are back on for pre-order on Amazon. I'm gonna take my chances since I heard they are almost identical to the SF pads (non-tourney) in terms of Quality and the fact I don't want to spend over $100 on a stick for just SF IV alone. But that's just me, and worst comes to worst I could probably sell my used Stick on fleabay and get my cash back.

While the sticks may have a better resale value, they're made w/ shit parts from madcatz and hundreds of people have complained on the Shoryuken forums and to madcatz directly that the washer is coming loose and breaking the pcb, therefore rendering their stick useless. The buttons aren't name brand, the stick isn't name brand; the hori ex2 is easily the better value.

Its about the same as when most likely the TE sticks will be available - in about two months. Like everyone else, including the parts suppliers, they are behind because of the huge demand for sticks. But the good thing is Arcade in a Box has an order cue on whose order they are working on and when it is estimated to ship.
