got this in my email yesterday
As of March 2, 2009, there will be no more due dates for your free in-store movie exchanges!
In other words, as long as you are an active BLOCKBUSTER Total Access subscriber, you can keep your free in-store exchanges as long as you like from participating BLOCKBUSTER® stores. In order to eliminate due dates, the free in-store exchange will now count towards the number of DVDs you may have out at a time under your BLOCKBUSTER Total Access plan. Once you've returned your in-store exchange, we'll then ship you the next available movie in your queue. Your free in-store exchanges will now show up on your Queue page and in your Rental History, making it easy to keep track of the movies you've rented.
So if im reading this right im going to end up with less movies now
cause old way
Say 3 movies at a time unlimited
Blockbuster sends me 3 movies on monday
I get those 3 movies weds and return them Thursday picking up 3 more movies in store and BB sends out 3 more movies Thursday and i get them saturday return them sunday
So online i got 6 movies and in store i got 6 Movies total 12 movies
New plan
Blockbuster sends me 3 movies Monday. I get them Weds return them thursday and pick up 3 movies
Return movies friday (blockbuster sends them out but wont get them to monday)
Meaning for this week i got only 6 movies where old way i got 12
so basic your going to lose between 25 to 50% of your rentals this way unless you keep runnin back to the store....
unless im missing something this New called Plan sounds like it SUCKS

Yes....
I watch the 3 movies i get on weds on weds... then i return them and pick up 3 more movies and then Watch them on friday night and watch the other 3 (2nd batch of online movies) on saturday
so i watch around 9 movies per week maybe more
Just saying the amount of movies is going to get cut up to 50% now at the same rate

Well, I feel bad for you bud. At the very least maybe some CAGs will see this and decide not to go for BB? I know that's what I am going to take away from it.
Then again, I don't rent/buy movies anyway, ------ --- --- ---. Then again, if this was for renting games I might be more affected.
That being said, I don't see myself going through a ton of games a week.
Like I said, fellow CAGs take this a learning experiance.

I got this email too. I definately don't rent as many as you, but the old way worked out much better. I would rent movies for my daughter at the local store and watch what came in the mail when I had time. This decreases the amount of movies I get too. Plus my local store cut it's hours back. So I am losing 25-50% service and still paying the same price.

Funny thing about hours cutting back.... i was going to stop by monday and see if they had any cases and ran smack right into the door (cause it was locked)
Locally our stores are now open from NOON to 10pm (used to be 10am to midnight)
I was like what the hell when i ran into the door....
i probally got back to netflix .

Yo slidecage, here's more explanation.

Looks like they are really changing this up.

Hopefully this will be yet another service change I slip past. It's not really so much about the number of movies out, it's just that the old way, you could watch the in-store rentals while waiting for the next movies to arrive in your mailbox. Seems to me they're killing some of the advantage they had with the Total Access over Netflix.

They got these things out there these days call a vagina. Now see as a straight male your goal is to get your wang in or around a vagina. Watching 9+ movies per week, undoubtedly alone, is really fuggin up your chances of your a wang / vagina meeting.

Have you read his posts? He's probably more of a lost cause on that front than The Mana Knight.

Blockbuster pisses me off a lot more by never sending me these service change emails than they do by changing the service in the first place.
First they reduced my number of game rental coupons, and now they instituted this change without any sort of notification. Tempted to cancel based on that shit alone, though I'll need to look at my rental history and see what kind of value I'm getting first.

I was like what the hell when i ran into the door....
That would have been funny to watch.
...
How much more would it cost you to upgrade to a DVR and record the movies you want to watch?
Then, you wouldn't have to drive to Blockbuster and run into doors with "CLOSED" signs on them. Also, less exposure to natural light.

Writing a love letter is out of the question for slidecage. Mana Knight is an exceptional writer though.
