Haha, just went the the local bestbuy and my friend bought 6 of these movie packs and 6 one month cards.
He bought 6? I hope its for a group or something like that. You know the community in here does not like people like your friend.

Went to pick up my 1600 point card today, thought they were sold out but it turns out they keep the cards separate from the 360 section and locked up. Picked up my movie pack and was on my way.
Now for some Castle Crashers...
Sucks that you can't pick up the tickets in store anymore even tho they are available, but I just got my $10 RZ I was waiting on, and I don't have ink to print it (but lol I'll have to print those tickets -.-), combined with a $5 RZ I had sitting that expires in a week, I ordered a 1600 point + tickets for $4.99 shipped.

Anybody know if these work for IMAX showings? The price for 1 ticket here is $13.25, so I'm assuming they just give you the $24 to put towards the tickets and you can pay the difference?

I've used these from previous promotions when they were only good for $7 and it was no problem to pay the difference so you should probably be OK.

If the theatre takes the Hollywood Movie Money, there's no reason it wouldn't work for an imax showing.

Picked this up today along with a 1 month card for my friend. Ended up being $9 and some change (bought a Diet Coke too)
Had to stand around for like 30 minutes for someone to help me, cause they had the 1 month cards locked up and the worker was already helping two guys with some PS3.

That cashier had no idea what she was talking about. There's a separate item out on the shelves that has the tickets (comes in the same case as a 360 game).

Grabbed 3 1600 point cards and 3 of these -- my Rock Band buddies were more than happy to go with a more convoluted way of getting tickets for Watchmen, which we were seeing for my friend's birthday tomorrow anyway, if it meant we were getting set up with DLC for the next month. =)
Such a sweet deal. We might need to get one more of these, too, for the stragglers who didn't tell us they needed tickets. Only cost an extra $2 each per ticket for the iMax theatre.

with the fandango "trick" would you be able to have a gift card sent to you since the pdf cardcard thing is worth 24 dollars and to have a GC sent to you is 2.95 I was thinking it would work but wasn't sure.
edit: I just realized how stupid this is to do. I was thinking I could use it at the box office but just now realized fandango is entirely online.

Question:
When redeeming the code online, it asks you which theater you want to use it at...
Does that matter?
Can I still use the coupon at ANOTHER theater, or must be the one I chose?

However, it actually has code (#s) so I don't know.
Originally, I printed it to see it at a theater I was gonna go last night (midnight show), but I didn't go. So, tonight, I will see it at a Different theater.

Has anyone done the Fandango deal and bought tickets at their theater?
I'm sure this was addressed, but I didn't see while I read through the thread. I was thinking the number wouldn't work because the amount was already redeemed for the Fandango money. Or, do they not check the "account" when you buy tickets? I would imagine they put the credit number in to purchase the tickets.

I live in South Florida, and the Pembroke Pines Best Buy is completely sold out of the Movie pack, however, they just got more 1 months in today. It's unbelievable because when I went before, they had plenty of the Movie packs but the 1 months were what was missing lol. Anyways, I'm trying to purchase online doing in store pick-up because that way they'll send me the Movie pack by mail from their HQ or whatever. But here's the problem... it isn't listed online anymore!!! How come? Has anyone else in South Florida been able to find a Best Buy that has 1 months and the pack??

http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s40/the-red-comet/reward1copy.jpg
So i think there are 2 possible vouchers. As i got a different 1 from the 1 above that does not say invalid at AMC. Looks like all they do is change the promo code for the invalid AMC ones. Have not used the vouchers yet so this is just a theory.

I took my case up to the Best Buy I got it at, and they exchanged it for a new one with the code inside. :) Turns out I wasn't the only one who got jipped. Someone opened up the cases while they were still in the back and sniped the movie codes out of them.

Why isn't the movie pack showing up on the site? I can go to promotion page and select an XBL item, but the Watchmen Movie Pack isn't at the bottom of the page for me like it was a few days ago? What's up?
EDIT: Well, answer found. Found a direct link to the Movie Pack and it's sold out online, but I can't even arrange for in-store pickup. It does say both items are instock at my closest store, so I guess I'll drive over tomorrow.

The Watchmen Game?
That demo made me weep. The combat was so-so, but the enemies were incredibly repetitive, the abilities seemed alright, but I read the IGN review and they state that there is one boss throughout the entire game. I know it's supposed to be episodic, but for $20 you expect to get a decent amount. Not to mention the game is supposed to be roughly 2 hours in length. I guess if you're some huge beat-em-up fan and can't live without it, it might be worth it, but with Lost and Damned nearly 12 hours long for the same price, oh man.
Oh, and I don't know if it was just me, but I cringed at the voice actor for Rorscach in that demo. He sounded like he had just spent 3 days drinking scalding coffee while watching Batman Begins and The Dark Knight and finally, in an attempt to sound gruff and surpass Christian Bale, he did what I can only think was shave his throat.

Was the Dark Knight an overdub over Bale's voice? I'm not sure what you're trying to say here.
Anyhow, Rorchach's voice is right on but agreed, it was close to DK's Batman. DK's version was way over the top. The animated series voice actor has/had it right for Batman.

Went to Best Buy yesterday. Tried it with the 1600 point card with Fallout 3 on the front. It didn't work and the kid told me I needed a rewards zone card. Let him try that and not look surprised when it did nothing. Before I even approached the counter, I asked someone in that section if I could do the deal this way. Sure enough, he calls for help....same guy comes over and they proceed to stare at the ad for 5 minutes.

If it's not good, then I just walk away....no need to make a problem". The media guy thinks it's OK, so they call for an over-ride. The large manager lady comes out and begins to adjust and asks what she's doing. When the guy says "free" to the Watchmen kit, she has to bend over the ad too.
She claims it doesn't say it on the ad. I point to the clear as f'n day print that says "any xbox live product" in both the ad and on the box. She eventually does it and I still have this stupid Rewards card.

Anywho, I saw it last night. Good, but not awesome. Sorry fanboys. The original book just works better because it's the medium it was designed for. There's a word called "pacing". The pacing was designed for a book and it didn't travel as well into the movie. Even at nearly three hours they left stuff out and shortened things. I liked it, but I think the general populace will not proclaim it the next Dark Knight.

I found the movie to be quite good. I think they really did the best they could, short of making it a six hour film. I definitely understand the wealth of negative reviews, though. If you aren't familiar with the source material or didn't really like the story to begin with, a lot of the excitement of the film is lost. I also agree with your "pacing" comment. One of the worst parts of the film was Laurie's realization that the Comedian was her father. It was just rushed through. It also felt like it was just meaningless and thrown in there.
I think Jackie Earle Haley did a great job as Rorschach, especially the scenes inside the prison.

Very true. I'm going to wait for the extended edition DVD with Black Freighter and give it another go. Every character lost a little bit of development but poor Laurie totally had that cut down big time.
Haley as Rorschach was my favorite as well. The prison psych evaluation scene was good, and I hope it gets a longer cut.

Just as a FYI regarding Fandango:
They DO NOT sell tickets for some theaters

I am curious about this as well. I picked up one set and converted into Fandango bucks, but I wouldn't mind another one or two. While the codes in the boxes are valid for a few more weeks, I wonder if the pack will remain free with purchase during that period as well. Either that or they just pull all the remaining ones off the shelves.

Then when she couldn't find the movie packs, she tried to find it on the website and even let me try and find it. Eventually she found it on the website to get the SKU, and when she looked some more, she found a few tucked away. She said it was probably because employees were trying to hide them away for themselves. At least she was very helpful and didn't try to brush me off initially.

I'm another one who had a problem with the Fallout card. I really didn't even want it over a normal one, but that's all that they had out there. After spending about 20 minutes trying to figure out why the deal wasn't working, they finally figured out it was the Fallout card.
How weird. I did in-store pickup and I got a fallout card, no problem.

I think it is because with in-store pickup they do not scan the items, they just assume they grabbed the right thing. I know that has happened before where someone would order a guide for in-store pickup and get the game instead. So is there any special content unlocked with the Fallout card?

Nope nothing special. Just a branded card.

Ugh, I can't believe the morons at the store I went to. I get the 12 month gold messenger kit and ask about the Watchmen pack that was supposed to come with it, The chick at customer service has this lost look that was only missing drool coming out of her mouth  and proceeds to call someone from the media section, obviously the tool that was hiding for the 10 minutes I searched for earlier, and they come over.
I'm hopeful that this person can get stuff straightened out, right? Wrong. He was just as clueless as the girl, scarily possibly even more so, as his bright idea is that I have to contact Microsoft and get it from them...of course this was after he told me it was in the damn box. Bottom line, I'm debating if I want to keep this thing or take it back out of disgust for them screwing up. :bomb:
Thoughts?

I had a similar experience trying to get the Fallout card as it seems that was the only one that was not part of the deal. They ended up giving me the Guitar Hero card since it seems that one was part of it by looking at the list on the website. Did the Fallout card unlock anything cool?Nope.

The Fallout card didn't unlock anything. It refers to the already-announched DLC that is 360 and PC only, nothing "bonus" or extra beyond that.

I had no problem buying the Fallout card in the store, I guess it depends on where you get it.
Haven't got to use the tickets yet though, my wisdom teeth broke through and had to have emergency surgery. Doped up on Vicodin so I have to wait until next weekend, sucks.

Btw, if you can get the tickets, you can use them for other movies. I redeemed the tickets at my local Cinemark and a leftover ticket they issued to me a raincheck ticket valid for anymore I want to see by July 1st. Nice deal. I might stop by another Best Buy and see if I can get some more tickets for myself for the heck of it. Free movie tickets are always awesome.

Ha ha overkill, was he seriously gonna resell those tickets or something?
Hopefully Best Buy pennies these things out soon.

Why is this in the graveyard? The deal is still good for another 1.5 weeks, it's just a lot of stores are out of the packs. Both of my local BB's have at least 5 packs left.

Or convert them into Fandango or Amazon credit.

I didn't move it here but the offer was just for the week and AFAIK store's aren't going to be restocking.

Yes, if you can find the Watchmen packs in stock somewhere it is still working. It does not work for the Fallout 1600 point cards though. The last day to redeem the movie money is 3/20.
