It's a good deal, but I dunno if it's worth it when you can get FF Chronicles for $20 ($15 in some places.) The copy of FFII/FFIV in there has that memory card issue, but it's fine when you're playing w/ an emulator or something.

Is this a good purchase if I already have Chronicles? This was the first FF I ever played, and me and a friend beat it by playing every friday.

Heh, thats good, cause I was actually considering asking you for a price a few days ago, but that's the question I've been stuck on.
From an OUTSIDE party (), is it worth getting if I have Chronicles?
Isn't the version in Chronicles a more complete version? I thought the US SNES version was all enwussened compared to the JP version.

It was censored and made easier, but I slightly prefer Final Fantasy II (SNES) to Final Fantasy IV (PSX).

Memory card issue? I own FF Chronicles (haven't played it yet though). What should I be aware of to avoid any memory card "issues"?

SneakyPenguin, I've actually played through both versions and it's not worth it if you already have chronicles, they're both practically the same. The psx version actually has more items and a few cutscenes. Chronicles is just fine.

Thanks man, you're probably the only person here who even knows about that video. I actually bought the puppet (they were mass produced) at the Virgin music store in Manhattan.

The PSX Version on Chronicles has a terrible loading time although the dialouge has been improved as well as having a harder dificulty.

this is the reason why I bought my SNES back in the days... totally worth it.. but like other said.. if you have the PS version.. stick with it :)

PS loading time isn't that bad. The PS CT though is almost unbearable, probably the only game I ever stopped playing beacause of load times. Then again, it was a game I had beaten like 10 times on SNES/emulators so I wasn't missing too much.

Ive never had any memory card issues with FFIV (PSX) before.

FFIV has pretty fast load times in Chronicles. CT has bad loadtimes.

Oh, it's just that it took some people forever to save their game to a memory card so they had to impliment that checkpoint save system where you save your game to a temporarily so it doesn't take so long. Other than that, there's no issue and Chronicles FFIV is better than SNES' FFII because of all the dumbing down done to the SNES version.

I've played both versions quite a bit. Chronicles is the better version. Load times are really fast, and almost nonexistant if you turn on the PS2's fast loading. There are more items and harder enemies in FFC, and the text is a lot closer to the Japanese original. They both have great translations, but FF2US lost some of the more mature elements that I won't get into for spoiler reasons.
The CT portion of FFC, however, has such terrible load times it's worthless.

Yeah the loading times on the Final Fantasy Anthologie/Chronicles always confused me. Isn't the PS2's ram big enough to fit the whole fucking game anyway?

I don't think so. The emu version seems small since it's only sprites but the PS version has cgi cut scenes which would probably add considerably to the size of the game
