on the other hand, what Stringer is doing (connecting its disconnected divisions) seems like the logical move that Sony should've made even when they weren't in trouble. The company has a serious lack of synergy. This actually makes me more confident in the future of the PS brand...

Looked it over and it just sounds like they put Kaz Hirai in charge of the group that includes SCE, Vaio, Walkman, and other media players/software parts of Sony. Doesn't sound like any of the individual parts are being merged together into one company.
