Err... I just had a thought...
So far we've been looking at the games listing for $5 and $10 on the website. However, maybe there are more $5 and $10 games not listed online.
Anyone check anything else? The $5 CC sale a few months ago only started with a few titles and balooned. I'm not saying we'll see anything that great, but there may be a few other titles out there floating for $5 and $10 in-store

Does it have like "normal" 3rd person controls (ala Eternal Darkness), or "tank" controls (like Resident Evil)?

Can't agree. I paid about $25 for Siren using Target's raincheck when they ran out of another game that was on sale and it wasn't worth the money for me.
First, people expecting another horror masterpiece like Silent Hill shouldn't bother. Even though both games were directed by the same guy and shared some of the same staff, it is more like Metal Gear Solid without the gadget, action, and humor. Think of a stealth game with most of its fun factors removed and you have Siren.
Second, those looking for an adventure with good storytelling can forget it. The game is limited to the repeated use of 7 stage maps and a cast by mix n' matching them to events that take place within a 3-day period. Things start to get real old after you've played a dozen missions or so. The disjointed unfolding of events was sometimes compared to Quentin Taratino's structuring of Pulp Fiction, but the end result was nowhere nearly as masterful or elegant.
Last but not least, this game continues the shameful tradition of horrible dub without the original language with subtitles as an option. If you can handle bad kung fu movie dubs then you'll enjoy all the Japanese characters speaking with a British (Cockney, to be specific) accent. In fact there are no subtitles at all, making the game hearing-impaired unfriendly.

No Siren at the Hayward, CA CC but there was a suspiciously large amount of Mark of Kri that I don't remember ever being there. I woulda got one if I didn't already get it from TRU. There's probably some other stuff on sale but I was too lazy to get them price checked.

Thanks for the info about Siren, Gundam. I am hearing-impared and need those subtitles and friendly games. And I don't have a ps2 (roommate does) and won't be playing Siren for like ages. So I'm gonna pass even though it's a good deal.
I don't see why everyone wants Siren. Its not like an AAA title or anything.

The CC in Wilmington DE had a ton of both. The Arc the Lad were parked $10 and in the clearance bin. Mark of Kri was still up on the shelves and marked $30. Around eight in stock.
They didn't have any copes of Dead to Rights for $5 though. I wanted to grab that if I saw it.

Glad to be of service. Some of the clues to the puzzles in the game are randomly generated and are only given aurally via a character's spoken lines, which can get buried in the sound mix because the ambience sound is much lounder at times. I hope they include the original Japanese soundtrack and subtitles if the game ever gets a GH release here (the game already got a re-release in Japan with extras).
Being a survival horror fan, I've enjoyed most of the Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Clock Tower, and Fatal Frame games to a degree (not to mention Illbleed, the most underrated horror game with a wicked sense of humor). Sadly Siren just doesn't even compare to most of the other games in the genre and hasn't really scared me that much after completing a few dozen missions and 3 loops.

I just got back from CC and got Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits and Mark of the Kri for $16.xx after tax. If anyone wants these games or any of the ones on the list, just pm and I can try to pick some up for you tomorrow. I also saw Eternal Darkness for $9.99, I already have the game so I didn't pick it up.
*Please add $9.99 Eternal Darkness to the list, thanks.

I'm really hoping theres some other cheap stuff. Anyone want to go price check a bunch of 2003 and older titles over the weekend? Or perhaps we can make a list of ideal candidates that would be cheap and a bunch of us can split the list up and price check. If we pull a team effort, we could figure out if we have a mini-CC fiasco on the rise.
I've been waiting for SOCOM w/ Headset to drop for for. ev. er. So i should keep my eyes open around Nov/Dec, huh?
Also, is Mark of Kri any good? Everyone's mentioning it, but I thought I heard it was pretty subpar-ish. I think I'm thinking of another game... So is Mark of Kri good?

Because you get 50% off the ticketed price on the clearence games at TRU. That's why it would be double.

but lackluster reviews...shot them out of my shopping cart.

I can confirm that Eternal Darkness for the GC is $9.96 at Circuit City. My local CC in California had two copies left. :D
Stay on the lookout for this. It's definately worth $10...
As for CC I'll hit it at lunch and maybe pick up dynasty warriors and I-Ninja.

I added games to my cart that did not say out of stock I had 10 games in my cart and none of them said out of stock then when I went to the review page of the checkout process the only game in my cart was tak and juju, so it seems everything is sold out. even if it does not say so.

Alright, I'm happy, I got I-ninja for gamecube for $5.37 (w/ tax).
One of the associates asked if I had a list, they never get told of anything. Just told him a few games marked down off the top of my head.

Picked up I-Ninja and Turok: Evolution for XBox, and Mark of Kri for PS2, all $4.96. Also got
Star Wars: Starfighter SE XBox $4.99
Freedom Fighters XBox $9.99
Breakdown $9.99
Also Timesplitters 2 rang up $9.99. This was a YMMV title during the $4.99 sale.

Picked up the following from 2 CC's over a long lunch break:
Silent Scope Complete (XB) - $9.99
NFL Fever 2004 (XB) - $4.96 (and my TRU goes back at $10)
ESPN Football 2K4 (XB) - $9.99
Star Wars: Bounty Hunter (GC) - $4.96
Xevious (GBA) - $9.99
Bomberman (GBA) - $9.99
Ice Climber (GBA) - $9.99
Spawn (XB) - $4.96
Amped (XB) - $9.99
The list I saw was like 100+ titles, on all platforms, sports titles, I-Ninja, Bounty Hunter, and a number of other items. It was a PDF file that the CC rep brought up on his register. No way to get a copy of it.

Can we close one of the CC threads? It would be a lot easier to look in one place.

I also had them price check Metal Arms for PS2, was $10 so didn't get it. I was gonna get Kya too but I decided that can wait since CC and TRU both still have a lot. I had to dig around a bit to find all of these games, but again at this CC (Emeryville, CA) there was a huge amount of Mark of Kri that was not there before. Saw the same thing at the Hayward CC when I went to get Arc.

Yea the Hayward location doesn't have much. Though I did get a Retrocon and discovered the $9.99 Madcatz Blaster there. During the $5 sale, all I got there was Aggressive Inline. They're actually relocating in Spring so hopefully the new store will be a lot better.
Emeryville, Hayward, and Newark CCs are all just about 20 mins apart so when I make runs its pretty great cause all three of them have a TRU right next to them. Emeryville also has BB and theres another one between Hayward and Newark. The Dublin CC is a bit far for me to make a regular run, but they do have a TRU and BB a couple miles over at the Hacienda Plaza so I have gone there in the past.

DO NOT REPEAT DO NOT buy this game for the ps2 its bugged big time
it plays fine then WHAM the memory save freezes up there is no way to save no way to transfer no way to save the game. I played this on the PS2 for 20 hours before it happen. i went and got it for the GC and never had this problem yet (40 hour into on gamecube)

I was at CC earlier today pricematching the Star Wars Trilogy with the Fry's ad (Fry's has it for 38, CC had it for 50), and I know before they had copies of I-Ninja for the GCN for 50 bucks still... if only I went to check out the games before I left. :(

Is Gladius for GameCube also $4.96?
I have a PS2, but I like my GC better. And since I've realized that Sony is a monster that needs slaying, I've made a pact with myself that I won't buy any PS2 game that is new; I'll only buy used PS2 games, therefore Sony gets none of my money (except when I buy GTA:SA on release  ).
