I dunno...I didn't like the demo at all. It felt WAY too damn slow and clunky for me to enjoy. It certainly didn't play like a Banjo-Kazooie game. Felt more like Rare's attempt at doing what Sonic Team does with Sonic.

You didn't play it long enough. The game is absolutely incredible and my 9 year old son is a wizard at building all kinds of crazy vehicles, hoverplanes, rocket cars etc. Once Again,(i.e Viva Pinata) RARE produces an absolute gem of a game and some people overlook it in the software charts.
I paid $40 for this game and don't regret it one bit ! My kids love it and I play as well.
There is NOTHING else like it on the market. PERIOD. $20 is a no brainer IMO.

Totally agree. My 4 year old also loves it. He uses his Legos to make vehicles and then asks me to make a vehicle in the game that looks just like them. We both have had a ton of fun with the game.

The funny thing is I bought this at about the same price and haven't even played it at all but I have played the XBLA version that came with it. My kid's played it the most so far, who knows I might get into it if I give it a try but for now I'm playing Conker: Live & ReLoaded, again ... my savegame kept getting corrupted on the xbox. Maybe I'll have luck with it on the 360. I wish RARE would delve into the Conker universe for a sequel at least it's a bit more mature ... or is that immature?

bought it, but the only thing that worries me a little about this is an impending price drop on the game. sometimes amazon likes to sneak gaming dotds that end up just staying that price heh
bvharris - this game can be completely played without having played the other games in the series. in fact, it's probably better that way as fans of the series don't like this game because it takes such a radical departure from the banjo games. i heard this game is like playing with legos in a videogame - you find parts and gadgets to create your own vehicles however you want to take on challenges throughout the game world.

The Giant Bomb (ie ex-employees of the demon spawned Gamespot) guys raved about it-it was one of their game of the year contenders (like probably one of the final four they were considering).
I've yet to play it though, due to the infamous backlog. Started Sonic Unleashed first as I figure it's less likely I'll enjoy Sonic.

Its nothing like the previous 2 Banjos beside having obviously the 2 main characters & a few like Mumbo-Jumbo, Gruntilda etc.
To be honest, I'll never figure out why the hell Rare pulled this BS instead of staying with the platformer formula...Then again this isn't old Rare we are dealing with, just a bunch of nobodies turning out shovelware.

It's really different (apparently) but it still got really good reviews. Given how few 3D platformers there are though anymore, the market wasn't exactly crowded had this been one (or a normal one).

Stupid amazon. I actually rented this from Gamefly and didn't care for it too much. It makes you play mini games to get each puzzle piece and they're either too easy, or too frustrating (trying to collect something or win a race and flipping your vehicle, falling into water, and my favorite ramming into every corner )
But I really didn't give it too many hours before sending it back. For $20 the game's sheer massiveness and all the things you can collect make it worth $20. In for 1 #-o
My brother showed me screenshots once of people's vehicle creations. Like Wall-E and replicas of star wars vehicles. I'd love to be able to do that!

I buy a book or a dvd as filler all the time.
I'm very tempted by this, and thought about combining it with the Watchmen graphic novel or This American Life dvd. But I have so many unplayed games, and not just random games that I don't really care when I get around to playing, games that I can't wait to play. By the time I get around to this, even though I'm looking forward to playing it, it will be $20 universally, and probably clearanced for even less at Target.

One 3rd party seller on amazon already has this for $17.98 + $4 shipping NEW, so I am guessing this will become the regular price very soon. Surprising since it only came out in November. Some mediocre 360 games take FOREVER to drop and this is supposedly a good one.

Pulled the trigger via my mobile at work today. I didn't even think of a book as a filler, to be honest. Still, $25 shipped will not get any complaints from me. I'll be hovering by my mailbox late this week/early next week in anticipation.

This deal finally got me to buy the game. I originally had it preordered, but my debit account denied the transaction, so I ended up getting the code to download Banjo Kazooie on XBLA for free, but didn't get this game. Now I have finally righted that wrong. Also decided to pick-up Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise and a used copy of Assassin's Creed for 13 bucks. Oh and I used my $20 gift certificate that Amazon gave me to make up for not being able to send me my SF4 TE stick. So grand total was 40 bucks for those 3 games. Definitely a good deal IMO.
Edit: I find it weird. I select 2-Day shipping (Prime member) and it says I will get it on Monday the 9th. Today is Wednesday. wtf? I suspect they don't necessarily have my copy on hand? But if I select 1 Day shipping it will be here tomorrow. ??????

Although there might be a price decrease on this game in the near future, I don't think that's the case here. I think what happened here was that the seller, being completely unaware that Amazon is only running a one day deal on this game, decided to set the price at $17.98 thinking that Amazon regularly sells this game for $19.99 w/ free shipping. I know I've done that a couple of times.
I don't think there's going to be a universal price drop on this game from $29.99 to $19.99 anytime soon, so if I were you, I would buy it now while the price is still hot.
Edit: I find it weird. I select 2-Day shipping (Prime member) and it says I will get it on Monday the 9th. Today is Wednesday. wtf? I suspect they don't necessarily have my copy on hand? But if I select 1 Day shipping it will be here tomorrow. ??????

Ok, I was tempted by the BK:N&B deal for $25 a while ago. But for $20 and after the repeated insistence by Wombat, I picked it up. Because if you wait until after 3:30 PM PST it will automatically add an extra day to it. IN this case they pushed it back to monday because sometimes they don't do weekend delivery. When weekend delivery is available I think it costs 6 bucks.

For those of you still looking for an item to use as a filler, I would highly recommend using the Watchmen graphic novel that's currently selling for $10. It's THE BEST graphic novel that I have read in my short 22 years of existence.
Another good suggestion would be to buy two copies of this game, and immediately sell the second copy on Amazon upon receiving it. You might make a buck or two off your sale:)!

I thought the same thing... Why am I paying for Prime again???
Prime is werid sometimes. I order and do the free 2-day shipping alot around the 5-7 pm Pacific time for whatever reason and I sometimes get the game the next afternoon around 2pm (I live in Cali). So thats one kick ass shipping time. But there are those rare times where it might take 4 days.

Tempting, but by the time I would get around to actually playing it I could probably get it for less.

First time poster...long time CAG fan. I just ordered Banjo and for my filler I ordered esquire magazine. Never seen it before, but its $8 for 1 yr and Amazon will give you a $5 code within 1 week.

Very excited to get this on Friday and play it with the kids. I know that they will enjoy it almost as much as I will.

Been looking to buy this one. I am happy this was $20 today and that I will soon be playing it, especially with some time off coming up on spring break.
