View Full Version : Cleaning discs with layers of dust or liquid?

For instance, if you had a disc that came into contact with a spray of Glade throughout the room. Or if it was left out a lot then got dusty. The end result would be a kind of "film" left on a disc, or a bunch of spots. I guess the best way to imagine it would be water spots on your car windows.

Does anyone know of a good way to clean these off? I got a few old 360 games from a friend, and I can't really tell if the discs are scratched or not because they have this problem. I'd like to clean them off without scratching them, if at all possible.

I'd use a lint free cloth and high grade (91% or 99%) isopropyl alcohol. If it's good enough to clean off CPU ICs, it's good enough (IMO) for discs.

just buy a disc cleaning liquid + wipes for a few bucks
