You could probably get a Canon Canoscan a little cheaper, but they run completely off the USB port (for power and data) and have had lots of problems. For about $100 you can get the Epson workforce 500 AIO, you get a color printer (inkjet), fax, copier and scanner with sheet feeder and flatbed. I picked up one of these a couple of months ago and have been scanning all my old docs into pdf's. It works great with only 2 gripes, it blows through ink on printing (not a biggie for me I mostly use a laser printer for printing) and the sheet feeder sometimes has issues with old papers and grabs too many at once.

Its weird, but try looking in a local thrift store. I got an old canoscan something or other for 5 bucks and it does just what I need it to. Scan.
