I'd be interested to know how many people they get that take advantage of trade-in coupons vs % off coupons. They make insane amounts of money, but so many of us won't touch quite a few of the used games unless there's some kind of decent coupon to bring the price down. I just wonder how long they can hold off giving any kind of % off coupon, if they actually get a decent amount of activity with the coupons.

You'll only need the drums if you want to play drums, as you've got the option to go through the career as just a guitarist. You can use any USB microphone for vocals (or the 360's headset) as well.

I don't think they are going to have a good (for purchasing) coupon until the tiered trade-in deal is over. What's the point of simultaneously having a good all-platform trade-in deal and a good percent off coupon? None, I don't think. So you're going to be waiting a while longer yet, I suspect. They have done both promo and coupon at the same time before. IIRC, they had several % off coupons during a 10/20/30% bonus trade-in promo twice last year. So who knows?

I ran back through my old e-mails, and this is now the 5th straight trade-in coupon. They've gone PSP, PS3, DS, Wii, and 360. My guess is next week is a RE5 coupon (20% extra credit towards the purchase of RE5 perhaps), and the week after that will be a PS2 / Cube trade-in coupon. Then, HOPEFULLY, we can actually get some 20-25% off coupons or some B2G1 action.


As long as you have a HD it is way better to export the songs since you'll be able to play them with the updated Rock Band 2. Of course if you were looking to get into Rock Band this is the way to go.

Not to condone ripping the songs and returning the game but GS does have a seven day return policy...

Last day of the sale, went and picked up Rock Band. They gave me the Edge discount on the original price of $29.99 - $3 off and then the sale price rang up at $15 and only had to pay $11.99 for the game. Not a bad deal. Not sure if it rings up this way at all the GS stores, but if you are planning on picking this up today, make sure to give them your Edge card. YMMV.
