When NY start charging Amazon taxes, they dragged Newegg into the circle as well (so that it doesn't look like NY is targeting Amazon only). However, Newegg was able to fight it and it got rid of the NY tax thing just after two or three months. Amazon is still battling the thing and looks like they're not winning. Same goes to other e-tailers, like Buy.com, FamilyVideo etc. (but i don't think they're even fighting over the NY tax thing, either don't care or don't have the cash to do so). So yeah, when comes to free shipping and taxes, Newegg is my new favorite :bouncy:

NewEgg will change the status to shipped immediately, but usually they don't update the order with the tracking number until later on in the evening. And for me, the e-mail doesn't come until 9AM est the next day. But by that time it's usually already on the local UPS truck and out for delivery ;)

Pretty much like that yeah...

quickest way to do it right:

1. go to ebates, make sure you're in
2. go to the stores section (N for Newegg or add to your favorite)
3. Click on the % back (for Newegg it's 2%)
4. It will create an ebates tracking window then to the store front.
5. add the game to your cart (or if you already have it in the cart)
6. Checkout... and you're done.

to me, it's much safer than Live... i prefer it b/c it's being around pretty long.

You are mistaken, DHL is still in business they just scaled back their US operations. With RE, DHL pickes up the product from Newegg, ships it to the nearest DHL station to the destination, and then hands it off to the Post Office for delivery.

Got mine today from them. Since it shipped in-state I got it within 12 hours of ordering with free shipping. However the shipping box came crunched on every side, and the packing inside was terrible. Needless to say the box of the game itself has a small bend and/or crease on all sides but the front.

The box they used to ship the game was a re-use of the box capcom shipped the game to them, pretty big box considering 4 of the CE's were in it going to them and only one in it coming to me. Nevertheless pretty cool seeing the capcom labels/stamp/stickers. Of course that "oh hey, tha's interesting" dissipated when i opened it up and saw the condition of the game.

I just received it!! it came in a box, with absolutely nothing but one sheet of paper and the game. The RE5 box was crushed on one side. The insides' are fine though. I'm a perfectionist so this of course bugs the hell out of me but I saved a lot on it already so I guess that's the price we pay. We have it though, guys!! I called my friend who pre ordered it at Gamestop and he was annoyed that I beat him to it, partly because I still don't even have a PS3. My friend at Best Buy is hooking me up next week though. =D

Also, I know the boxes can come crushed. Even some of the boxes at GameStop were dented and had crease marks from the shrink wrapping. It's really difficult to find a perfect box, so I don't care much about it, I just use it to store my other games in it. Of course they weren't crushed like the one from the post with the images, that was just painful to have seen... damn. I got my SFIVCE and the manual had a minor crease on the manual on the last page. It must have been from the assembly line in some factory where they load the papers into some stapling machine or something like that. It doesn't bug me, I can always switch it out with a reg. edition. It's really the cover art and the "Collector's Edition" label at the top that I'm after which I just found out recently about myself as to why I really wanted it.

Mine from NewEgg was in a box, but I ordered two. I'm not sure where it shipped from. I did order one from Best Buy though that was in an envelope and crushed.

Basically, I got paranoid since the SFIV Collector's Edition for PS3 sold out. It got backordered from Buy.com and GameCrazy got my preorder wrong (they gave me regular edition) so I ordered RE5 from different sources just to be sure I got it. Now I'll be returning the Best Buy shipment since they were crushed.

I received my CE very badly crushed. I suspect it happened while being packed rather than the shipping process. It arrived in a NewEgg box that had no damage, but it was overstuffed with packing paper. The guy that packed it had to have crammed the paper in on top of the game in order to tape the box shut. I was tempted to keep it but have decided to request an exchange. I don't want to open it to discover that the steelbook is dented or the figure is broken. I would never purchase something in this condition from a b&m store. No reason to accept it from a reputable e-tailer.

There was no damage, but I expressed my dissastifaction at having a damaged box. She said she would make a one time exception and issue me a label. I may just live with it rather than take the chance of receiving one in worse shape.

They sent me a replacement without asking me to send back the damage one, so I got two copies.

But I went out today and saw some RE 5 CE's on the shelf in good shape and it made me feel unhappy about my crushed one. Since I received a UPS label, I might as well send it in for a replacement.

This is what I'm worried about and why I almost kept the first one they sent me. I wonder if there is way to request them to carefully package it in a box. Seems ridiculous since it's being RMA'd for damage in the first place.

I did end up getting a free UPS label after a live chat. She wasn't going to give one unless I opened the crushed box and found damage to the contents. I opened it and everthing inside was fine, but she made an exception for me when I said that I was still unhappy about the condition I received it in. I think my problem was that I stated "Unsatisfied" as my reason for requesting an exchange. I probably should have put that it was damaged.

I planned this luckily since reading that thread... I bought a copy in-store pickup not only because I couldn't wait for it to come in, but because I expected it to come in the way it did. I returned the one which came in today. It was crushed and returning it will be questionable to the customer service. But the guy took it back with the receipt I bought in-store pickup. Really cool guy. He had to open the product though to check the items inside which will suck for the next guy if there's going to be one. He was cool though seems like a guy who would make a great friend to have. BB.com did send my on deal Transformers Blu-ray in a cardboard recently like Amazon usually does so I thought BB.com learned the proper packing method. Why didn't they do that here... sheesh... I try to avoid BB.com because a year ago or so they sent my steelbook DMC4CE in a yellow bubble envelope and it had a dent! Good Gawd! These shipment facilities need to know that the bubble padding isn't enough!!!
