Darn, was hoping for a deal on Pokemon Platinum. Circuit city used to be the loss leader when the new pokemon games come out and I could PM elsewhere. Doesn't look like there will be a deal this time unless Best Buy comes through. I've yet to pay full price for a pokemon game and don't want to start now.

For example, with this B1G1 50% off sale, If you buy 2 $60 games, the price on your receipt will be $45 for both games.

Target does this to prevent exactly what you want to accomplish.

Usually you earn 1 point per dollar, and every 250 points gives a $5 gift certificate. However the Gamer's Club awards 500 bonus points for every $150 dollars you spend on games. Thus you get $10 for every $150 dollars spent.

And yeah, they have an offer where you can get 150 bonus points for buying Killzone 2. But I'm not sure if you can combine it with this 50% off deal.

It's important to remember that 150 points does NOT equal the $10 gift certificate. It's every 150 DOLLARS you spend on video games that gets you 500 bonus points. The point redemption values are the same as the regular Reward Zone stuff. 250 points = $5 gift certificate, 500 points = $10 gift certificate. All the Gamer's Club does is give out bonus points.

For what it's worth, I hated the demo and loved the full game. It has flaws for certain -- controls that seem to fight you, stuttering when it loads during a level, weak story and characters -- but the experience of it is pretty awesome.

yeah.. I only played the game since getting it from day 1.. at only 3-4 hours thru I think I am half way thru the single player. Graphics and gameplay are pheonmenal though. If you really want this deal, I would strongly recommend you go and buy your Killzone 2 and whatever Limited Edition you want today or tomorrow, then go back to the store, go to customer service and have them make the adjustment, ad in hand.

Honestly, outside of the newer game Limited Editions, this deal is pretty lousy IMHO. But then, I got spoiled with the Circuit City Liquidation (Fallout 3 CE and Resistance 2 CE's for $30) and last weekend's B2G1 at Gamestop. With the SFIV trade-in exploit (trade in 6 games, get 40% bonus credit or 50% with EDGE...so SFIV would trade in for $45 in credit but could be bought for ~$33) last weekend, I ended up getting Valkyria Chronicles, Killzone 2, and Little Big Planet for free along with enough credit left over to get SFIV CE and RE5 CE both brand new sealed for almost free - I was short all of 7 cents.

Fine print on the ad in the OP says regular editions only. I also assume it's a case of the second game has to be of equal or lesser value.

That would have been even better with the B2G1 USED deal at Gamestop last weekend. I went there just to see if anything piqued my interest. If you went for all recent games then some good choices at $55 each which with EDGE ends up at $33 each plus tax. BUT, good luck finding KZ2! Or very recent stuff like RE5 and SF4. Some other great games though.

Yeah, my bad on that. The structure of the Gamer's Club deal is easy to misinterpret.

$150 Dollars Spent On Games = 500 Bonus Points

500 Points = $10 gift certificate

Anyway, it's a good deal. I'm always surprised at the amount of negativity displayed towards the Gamer's Club. It's one of the rare cases of Best Buy offering good deals.

Fine print on the ad in the OP says regular editions only. I also assume it's a case of the second game has to be of equal or lesser value.

Yea, if that is the superscript for this deal, then I guess it doesn't really say anything about equal or lesser value or regular editions. I can't quite make out which superscript is which though. Guess we'll just have to see what happens when half of this community attempts to get 50% off of $100+ items.

Also good luck finding a BB that still has a PS3 SF IV CE, only place I ever saw one was in Paducah, KY, and that was a month ago. All the PS3 CE's in the STL BB's were either pre-orders or gobbled up day 1.

You dont need your card to get the points. You can always enter any purchase online using your reciept number

I suppose without the EDGE card it's about $44 which makes this BB deal a little nicer (considering these are new copies). But since there's a chance that GS is going to be running another B2G1 sale during Gamedays in April, I would just wait...unless you're the only CAG on this site that doesn't have a backlog and needs these games now.

Just got back from Best Buy and Kmart. Picked up KZ2 and Ratchet for $90. For those curious about the deal, you don't need any special coupon from the website. They just scan your reward card and it rings up the discount. Also, the discount isn't split between the two games. It comes completely off the second purchase. Not sure what that means for returns.

If you don't have a reward card, I believe you can print one up after registering online. Just make sure you activate the Gamer's Club after going through the Reward Zone card application. You should also be able to do this stuff in-store. It's all totally free.

Unfortunately, Kmart was sold out of Xbox Live cards. At least they let you raincheck one for the discounted price.

With Best Buy, printouts are YMMV. I tried something like that once at 2 Best Buys down here & they would NOT price match. That is why I stopped at K-Mart (to pick up the sales ad, to take to Best Buy). :)

I wanted to pick up RE5 360 version with this deal so I figured I would try and exchange it later. Well when I went to the store I went looking for the PS3 version but couldn't find it. It said they had 4 in stock, so me and this "Rasta Dude" went looking for it. The game section in my store is pretty large and spread out. After about 5 minutes I spotted the 4 copies behind the counter. I kept my mouth shut as "Rasta Dude" kept looking. Finally I say "You know they have the 360 version", which was on the shelf, "And I would take that instead since its basically the same thing." He agreed and asked his manager who gladly approved it. So I ran to check out and get out of the store before the haze had cleared around "Rasta Dude"'s head.

I felt like Professor Chaos when I left.
