View Full Version : I hate trying to buy a Wii

I've been looking for a new system since I sold my Gamecube collection. I still want to try out Mario Sunshine and Wind Waker and Twilight Princess but I figure it's a little foolish to go back and try and rebuy those. I figure getting a Wii and trying out the new games is worth my while. Here's the issue though. I hate buying new. It's in nice condition and it's yours but I'm cheap. I've been looking through craigslist ads and everything is ridiculous. People are either selling modded Wiis (you can play any game for free. why exactly are you trying to sell it?) or they have the most awful bundles I've seen. One person seriously had like 15 WM clearance titles bundled in. I'm just amazed at how much crap people buy for it. I'm a casual gamer but damn. I hate it. /rant

I've seen them stockpiled in every store I've been in for weeks now.

The worst is on Ebay/Craigslist when they say "comes with 5 games" and they're referring to the 5 sports games on the single Wii Sports disc. Most misleading, stupid shit I've ever seen.

Amen, I sold mine on eBay and as much as I hated doing it I HAD to do that or else it looks like you have fewer games than everyone else, you get screwed for being honest.

Same here, I think some areas get sent a hell of a lot more then others.
Just take a white shoe box, put it in your entertainment center, let it collect dust. There, now you are a real wii owner.
Whats your budget?

Seriously. My store hasn't sold a Wii in over a week. It's so weird. Same with Wii Fit.
But Mario Kart sales have skyrocketed again.
I don't get it. One week, it's systems and Wii Fit. The next week, it's Mario Kart.

Try a pawnshop. I got mine about 3 months ago for $180 with a copy of Zelda TP(no wii sports, but whatever)

People on craigslist list them for higher then they go for at walmart. They flip 2 or 3 of them.
$375 on craigslist vs. $250 at walmart

I endorse this post.
Also, i was at costco the other day, and they had 28 wii's out on the floor just collecting dust. Its like the home experience has reached the store shelves!
