This made me feel really sad for the girl who posted that list, and all others like her... it's of course taken from a forum for ultra-conservative teens (don't ask what I was doing there, but it's a moderated forum so I was obviously not trying to pick up anybody). Interestingly, these are Jewish, not Catholic, so the hebrew words every once in a while make it difficult to read and the atrocious spelling doesn't help.

It's just so wrong on so many levels, I don't even know where to begin, so please post your thoughts about this (especially you girls).

Well, i like pushing ppl's buttons when they tell me what those buttons are so I've got 71 potential buttons to push for this particular person. It's sad really though. It seems more like this lil girl has already given up on making sustainable normal relationships. All 71 of her reasons are generalizations that have their only basis in male stereotypes and hearsay. Sure guys lie, but so do some girls. Wow, what a revelation! People lie, cheat, steal and generally hurt their fellow beings... doesn't mean the whole population is going to act that way. 90% of the population I'm fairly sure has told some form of untruth - be it big or small; doesn't make them evil. To place the blame on a particular ethnicity, gender, or religion smacks of ignorance. And in my book, the only thing worth hating against is stupidity and ignorance = stupidity.

Hey, the Pope wears one, too. It has nothing to do with practicality. It's just one of those God sez so things to demonstrate you're playing by the rules. Check out Leviticus for tons of this kind of stuff. Some of it was practical, like not eating pork before modern technology insured a certain level of safety. Saying it was one of God's hard and fast rules rather than making it a well-intentioned suggestion was just a matter of getting the message across to the thicker members of the community.

I can understand a girl wanting to be with, and eventually marrying a man who respects her, and not wanting to be with guys who will just use her. However, if she continues to view all men like this, and refuses to ever talk to guys, the chances of her ever finding the man she wants will be very very low, probably zero. And how the hell is she even supposed to meet a compatable man in the first place if she never talks to them anyways??? (Since she's highly religious, maybe she expects her parents to do all the work for her and play matchmaker, relieving her of all responsiblity of communicating with members of the opposite sex. I'm in the library, and I just now saw this. I totally agree with DZ. Its good that she spoke up when other girls (like me) would have just rolled their eyes at all the ignorant comments made here. Some of this list this girl made (from what I could understand) speaks for the majority of boys (and girls) that I know, but the rest are nothing like that. I've never dated a jewish woman or had much interaction with jewish people in general, but if interacting leaves me as confused about life as this list did, then no thanks. Or are they the confused ones? I'm so confused?!?!?!

it was actuallu 77 reasons.. wow they added how amazing anyways haha the girl who post it has bf problems? well that can be expected writing a post from anger. how terrible and sad. first of all what bothered me was the typing (but heck even i got crappy typing) so i was more annoyed to read it and wow this girl is just hypocritial at times. good job to her. but hell a lot of these things you can just argue with on her views sooo many things. i mean sure some of these are true but that is just life. like that all guys are jerks and perverts etc.. girls can be like bitches (meaning to me they complain a lot and we all complain) and people are all liars. it's just facts. and it's like a bad thing.. i mean it is bad but it's the truth. ok well the jewish community is like hell strict i can tell, like the asian ones i mean back in the countries it would be strict like that. this is just one person's post and i really didn't bother to read everything (cause half of it seem like jibberish no offense i suppose).

Again, most of them are pretty normal. The girl is obviously from an ultra-ultra-ultra-conservative family, the kind that would be ridiculed and despised by most jewish, just as extremely extreme christians would be by their sensible counterparts.
