The $69.99 deal comes by once in a blue moon. Most of the time it's a $59.99 preorder/new release (certain time frame of release I believe) when you trade three. So if this was four months ago we'd have gotten CE/LEs gratis but seeing how RE5 was $99 it won't help much.

Yeah, you just pay the difference.
I talked to an EB manager today since I was near an EB and he said titles more than $70 are not applicable, even if you want to pay the difference. (In reference to the sale starting tomorrow)

Should I just try a different EB?

I haven't done one of these before, can anyone confirm if:

a) It is indeed for games that are out? There's not much coming out that I'm stoked about, but I wouldn't mind grabbing RE5. The website seems to imply it has to be a preorder

b) DS/PSP games count? I have a few that have more than $8 trade in value, and I'd rather use those than 360 games.

T3G1F games are pre-order only from a select list. However, these special weekends are few and far between, and are for any game currently out or pre-order.

DS/PSP games do count as they're current gen, as long as they have $8+ tiv.

Let me clarify some stuff for you guys.

The trade 3 weekends go like this.

Trade in 3 games (complete with box and manual) from this generation of systems (ds,psp,Wii,360,ps3) with minimum trade values of 8$ each and get up to 69.99 trade credit towards a new release (within last 7 days - yes resident evil is 7days on friday) or any game upcomming that is available for pre-order (if its in the computer under the upcomming releases)

if you are putting it towards the collectors of the new batman that is 99.99 you would have 69.99 towards it. if you put it towards a new wii game thats 49.99 you get only 49.99. remember this credit is not transferrable to a non trade 3 item.

your local EBgames SHOULD have the new release list printed out and sitting on the counter for everyone to see. if they dont TELL them to open the new releases and print it so you can see it.

I didnt catch that on the flyer. If its there then give it a shot. Normally ps2 is not included. maybe another misprint like the gundam2 misprint (which has been corrected at store level)

I went today bright and early. First I bought a copy of Condemned 2 at The Source for $10 (TIVS says that TIV is $10). With my Socom, Dead Rising, and the newly purchased Condemned 2, I went in to the store for the promo. They said it was on, though unfortunately, Condemned only listed for $7. However, the nice people (well the one guy out of 2 who knew what he was doing), bumped the TIVs of Socom and Dead Rising to $22 so I was able to get Star Ocean 4 (listed at 64.99) for only $17. Not bad, I guess.

The gundam misprint is on page 2 i think. it shows gundam 2 for xbox360 at 39.99 which has been corrected at store level with a Memo posted on the doors. I think its suppose to be 69.99. i dont have the flyer on hand at this time.

The online flyer has this already fixed but the ones instore still have this misprint

As I had said in the post prior to yours, I ended up keeping R2 and just purchasing Condemned 2 for the deal (which then failed).

It's still $8, The latest advert for the current trade weekend says $8 min. in the fine print. Their was some confusion because they had a DS trade deal where the min. value had to be $9. I think some CSR's Just assumed that it went to $9 across the board. If you go in with a print out or the actual ad I am sure you can get them to honour the $8 value unless the rep. is a real hardass.

I traded for Left 4 Dead yesterday with no problems, and that's at least three months old. YMMV I guess.

that's their general rule (i've seen them reference a list, but one of my stores says exactly what you said - preorders and anything in its first week or so of release).

they told me that again on wednesday, but said the weekend (i was told friday-sunday in particular) would be any game. i'm guessing the girl working was just uninformed.

Yeah, the deal was for this weekend only, sorry I didn't see this thread earlier. Now it changes back to the cut-out board on the ceilings. Some EBGs will do it all the time, I normally do it for anyone that comes in as it pushes trades, and nobody ever asks questions. The person normally wants a game that will be trade 3 or a game that was recently trade 3 anyways. Most places will still do this on games that are in their new release sections/in upcoming releases.
