Why do Ubisoft games depreciate so fast? Thank god for that, but it seems strange to me.

Ubisoft doesn't make much good games, there was only 2-3 good rainbow six and ghost recon games and only one good splinter cell, thank god H.A.W.X. came out or ubisoft would be way too hated...oh and BiA is pretty good

Really? I've enjoyed most of the ubisoft games I've played.. Assassin's Creed, R6V1 and 2, GRAW1 and 2, POP, even Rayman 1.

Anyway, their strategy is to develop a game and not put too much effort into sequels... like R6V and R6V2 which has the same bugs and is hardly changed. So I think they can afford drop prices quickly because they don't need as much to recover the costs. Also marketing costs for sequels are way cheaper, and if they drop the price while the game is still fresh in people's minds from the release buzz I'm sure it sells better too. Expect to see AC2 and 3 and POP2 and 3 with nothing more than superficial changes.

ubisoft is doing like steam, lower prices and more sell, these games are going off the shelves like crazy at this price, far cry 2 nearly double its sale since its dropped price....

Considering the market average of $9.20 per developer on a retail-priced game, you really have to wonder how
a) Ubi can make these games for so cheap or
b) how much money they're losing

Eh, s'ok I guess. It's too early to do the math but saving 45% if you buy four games you were planning on buying anyway sounds like a good deal.

I believe Rayman Raving Rabbids 1/2 (Wii) qualify for EB's trade-3. So if you buy 4 copies (2 of each) at $20 regular, it's $13 each. Add in two more games and you're good to go.
