Hey gang,
I bought a 20gb Xbox 360 Pro at the end of last year when FYE was clearing out their inventories and doing the $100 mail-in rebate. I had forgotten about it until recently but I never got it so I checked their website with my tracking number and it said "Invalid UPC code"! I sent them an email and said no way was that possible and they sent me a reply saying since the promotion was over I'm sh*t out of luck. Just curious if anyone else has had trouble with these guys before I call and rip them a new one. Thanks,
Chris
I just submitted one for a DVD box set and got a bogus "invalid purchase date" rejection. I sent them an email through their web form today so we'll see what happens with that. I would definitely call them if I were you.
Also, it's a pain in the ass but if they're really jerking you around consider filing a complaint with the BBB and/or small claims court ...

FYE is horrible with mail in rebates. I sent in two one time and both of them were rejected for invalid UPCs (they claimed the UPCs were to different products.)
My girlfriend sent in a rebate later against my warning and the online form said no receipt was received with the UPC. Ok...if you never got the receipt then how was an online status page created when supposedly all you received was an envelope with a UPC in it?
Do a google search on the subject to find out more about FYE mail in rebates, I really can't believe nothing has come of such a big company pulling these kind of things.

I had the same problem. It was a one day rebate deal for a season of Simpsons on DVD. Said invalid purchase date when it wasn't. Never bought anything from FYE again, especially considering their normal prices are up to double anywhere else. Not like I ever buy anything there anyway. Some people must actually pay their crazy prices since they are still in business...

You have to remember that the people who handle these rebates automatically reject a certain percentage of them for no reason at all. If you get rejected, you simply have to threaten them. Here was my experience with the 360 HD-DVD add-on.
When Toshiba pulled the plug, FYE was selling the drives for $50, and there was a $30 rebate. So, I picked one up, filled out my info, and away you go. I checked the site one day, and I was denied, saying that I did not order a qualifying product. Sent them a nice e-mail explaining the error I assumed they made (that perhaps they saw the price and figured it couldn't have been a high-def drive) and informed them that I would be contacting the BBB or whatever if the error was not fixed. Within a few days, the status was updated, and I got my giftcard a couple of weeks later.
Then, around the same time, I sent away for the five free HD-DVDs from Toshiba, because that was still good when I purchased the drive. Waited awhile, and then I get a letter, along with my UPC and receipt, stating I didn't send them a valid UPC, even thought it was the UPC from the 360 drive box (I was able to use the FYE UPC for their rebate). So, I re-sent them the info, along with a similair letter. And within a month or so, I got my movies.

Coincidentally I just received my $30 rebate from a PS2 I bought back in March. I've done about 4 or 5 FYE rebates and have always gotten them within 2 months' time.
